Carolina Panthers LB Jon Beason (knee, shoulder) is not expected to participate in June minicamps.
Huddle Up: It's been quite a rough go for Beason over the past 2 seasons as he's been limited to 5 games total after recording at least 119 total tackles in each of his first 4 pro seasons. The Panthers aren't going to rush him in hopes of having him available for training camp.

Carolina Panthers LB Jon Beason said he will be better than he was pre-injury in 2013. Beason is expected to move to weakside LB with Luke Kuechly earning NFL Rookie Defensive Player of the Year honors in the middle. "I'll be better," Beason said. :I can't even fathom not being better than I previously was. Especially, when you get to this stage of your career, mentally you know how to prepare and those are the things that you're focusing on more."
Huddle Up: Beason averaged 137 tackles a season over his first 4 years before a torn Achillies' limited him to 1 start in 2011 and knee and shoulder injuries limited him to 4 starts this past season. If Beason truly can regain most of his form, he and Kuechly will be quite a duo.

Carolina Panthers LB Jon Beason (knee) will need surgery to fix his season-ending injury to his knee. LB Luke Kuechly will take over the starting middle linebacker duties for Beason.
Huddle Up: This marks the second year in a row Beason has been placed on IR. Luke Kuechly gets a boost in IDP leagues as a result.

Carolina Panthers LB Jon Beason (thigh) practiced in full Wednesday, Sept. 5.
Huddle Up: Beason was a tackling machine his first 4 NFL seasons, averaging 136 per year. But then he tore his Achilles' in last year's season opener and has battled hamstring and leg injuries all preseason. His return would be a big boost -- physically and in terms of morale -- for the Carolina D.

The Carolina Panthers have been taking things slow with LB Jon Beason (hamstring) because they do not want him to aggravate the injury.
Huddle Up: The strong preseason play of LB Luke Kuechly, the ninth-overall pick in the draft, has overshadowed Beason's absence. Beason went down with torn Achilles' in Week 1 last season, but averaged 136 tackles per year in his first 4 NFL seasons.
