San Diego Chargers WRs Robert Meachem (hamstring) and Eddie Royal (hamstring) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 9, and are probable for the team's Week 10 game.

Huddle Up: The Chargers suddenly have a glut of WRs a week after Meachem and Royal were out in \Week 9. For fantasy purposes, count on Malcom Floyd and leave the others for those in deeper leagues.

San Diego Chargers WRs Robert Meachem (hamstring) and Eddie Royal (hamstring) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 8.

Huddle Up: Royal has missed the past 2 games, while Meachem sat out in Week 9 but neither has caught a pass since Week 6 -- a week before the Chargers' bye. In the meantime, the team has signed WRs Danario Alexander and Seyi Ajirotutu, so it'll be interesting to see how the playing time pans out if all are healthy this Sunday.

San Diego Chargers WRs Robert Meachem (hamstring) and Eddie Royal (hamstring) are expected to take part in practice Wednesday, Nov. 7. Head coach Norv Turner said both receivers were close to playing Week 9.

Huddle Up: Danario Alexander and Seyi Ajirotutu did a decent job filling in for these two, and they have been largely disappointing in their first year with the Chargers. Still, they will be back in the lineup when they are healthy, rendering Alexander and Ajirotutu useless in the fantasy realm.

San Diego Chargers WR Robert Meachem said that he wants to be more consistent for his head coach Norv Turner and QB Philip Rivers. He said he has been far too inconsistent to help his team to this point.

Huddle Up: Meachem garnered some fantasy headlines in Week 5 when he burned the Saints, his former team, for 3 catches, 67 yards and a pair of TDs. However, in his other 6 games, Meachem only has 9 receptions, 122 yards and no scores, including 3 games with nary a catch. Don't plan on using or rostering Meachem until he can put back-to-back solid games together.

San Diego Chargers WR Robert Meachem has gotten off to a slow start statistically, and head coach Norv Turner did not sound overly concerned Wednesday, Oct. 3. 'Just the way our games have been going, we haven't had the opportunity to get the ball to our wide receivers a lot,' Turner said. 'I see it all the time on the practice field with he and Eddie Royal that we're making progress and we're doing a lot of good things. It will show up in games soon, or sometime along the way when I don't expect it or you don't expect it.'

Huddle Up: Turner may not have voiced any concerns, but Meachem's fantasy owners -- at least those who remain -- should be well past that stage at this point with one of fantasy's biggest flops so far this season. Meachem ranks seventh on his own team with only 6 catches for 92 yards on 15 targets, and the Chargers shouldn't feel any real need to change things up with the team off to a 3-1 start atop the AFC West. Until there are some signs of life, Meachem only is rosterable as a reserve in deep leagues.

San Diego Chargers WR Robert Meachem has two catches through two games and failed to record a catch during the team's Week 2 win over the Tennessee Titans, but head coach Norv Turner doesn't sound worried about it. "Robert is just having bad luck," Turner said. "On the fourth play of the game (against the Titans) he was running as open as you can be and Tyronne Green pulled and overshot his guy. He was surprised at how flat the defensive end was. Philip (Rivers) had to run out and Robert almost caught it. If the protection was clean, he would have had a 50-yard touchdown there. He would have had a few other opportunities and some things seemed to go wrong in the middle there. Not by fault of Robert or Philip. I'm excited about the threat that Robert gives us and he was hauling."

Huddle Up: Sure, luck hasn't been on the wideout's side, but it goes deeper than that with the WR's slow start. Meachem is a low-volume, big-play wideout who's career season-high for catches is 45. However, when the big plays aren't there, his stats will reflect that. Meachem currently is fifth on the Chargers in targets with only 6 in 2 games, and those who insert him into their fantasy starting lineups are more or less banking on a long TD catch that week.

San Diego Chargers WR Robert Meachem left practice early Wednesday, Aug. 1, with a right knee injury; however, head coach Norv Turner said the injury does not appear to be serious. The team plans to give an update on his status Thursday, Aug. 2.

Huddle Up: Doesn't sound as if the injury warrants significant concern, especially this early in the preseason. Meachem is still expected to start opposite Malcom Floyd in the San Diego passing game and missing a couple days of practice shouldn't be a detriment to that happening.
