Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports Bears offensive coordinator Ron Turner said the team needs to get TE Greg Olsen more involved in the passing game.
The Huddle Take: At his present pace, Olsen will finish with 40 catches and 376 yards, numbers that approximate his rookie year totals. He does have two touchdowns already, but preseason projections tabbed Olsen as Jay Cutler's favorite target--something that has not materialized as of yet.

ChicagoBears.com reports Chicago Bears QBs coach Pep Hamilton said TE Greg Olsen has continually progressed during the offseason. He is wowing everybody with his physical stature and athleticism.
The Huddle Take: Olsen should become one of the top tier TE's this season. He's got a couple of years under his belt now and with a solid running game and a new, quality QB who does enjoy throwing to the TE, he's definitely going to have plenty of opportunity. Now the question becomes what he'll do with it. It is not outside the realm of possibility that he could finish in the top 10, or even top 5, at his position by seasons end.

Mike Mulligan, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports Bears TE Greg Olsen seems to have established himself as a favorite target of QB Jay Cutler and the top secondary option. Olsen is going to have a key role and will catch a ton of passes this season. "He's a very good receiver, but he's a good tight end, too," offensive coordinator Ron Turner said of Olsen. "Greg has worked hard on his blocking. But he can be a receiver, too, no question about it. We're seeing the evolution of Greg in his third year."
The Huddle Take: Olsen is hardly flying under the fantasy radar, heading into the 2009 season as a popular mid-tier pick. And given what Cutler has to work with at the wide receiver position, is it any wonder Olsen has emerged as a favorite target?
