Jamison Hensley, of The Baltimore Sun, reports Baltimore Ravens QB John Beck injured his throwing shoulder in the second half of the team's preseason game Thursday, Aug. 13. Beck did not know the extent of his injury.
The Huddle Take: Beck was once the Dolphins' quarterback of the future; now he's fighting for a roster spot in Baltimore, and a banged-up throwing shoulder isn't likely to help him in that endeavor.

The Baltimore Sun reports the Ravens have signed unrestricted free-agent QB John Beck to a one-year deal, according to a source. Beck will compete for the primary backup quarterback job.
The Huddle Take: With Joe Flacco firmly entrenched in Baltimore, Beck will at best handle lead clipboard duties.

The Miami Dolphins announced they have waived QB John Beck from the team.
The Huddle Take: With Pat White joining the Dolphins, Beck was expendable. Expect him to find a club willing to take a shot on him as a developmental quarterback.

Armando Salguero, of the Miami Herald, reports Dolphins QB John Beck could be trade bait for the team. Beck could be used in a trade because he does not fit the team.
The Huddle Take: Chad Pennington is the now and Chad Henne is the future, so it would make sense to get something for Beck while he still has some value—that is, while teams still remember he was a first-day draft pick.
