Detroit Lions CB Chris Houston (toe) underwent surgery on his toe earlier this week, and it's unknown if he'll be able to make it back in time for training camp this summer. 'I'm not certain, to be honest with you,' head coach Jim Caldwell said. 'I kind of leave those things up to our physicians. Those guys went to school for a long time to get those medical degrees and so what I do is try to focus in on what we're doing and I let them sort of navigate through it and give me an indication of it at some point in time.' Houston is expected to be one of the team's starting cornerbacks this year alongside CB Darius Slay.
Huddle Up: Hopefully at some point the team doctors will update Caldwell as to Houston's status. The Lions' secondary is considered one of their weak spots to begin with, so being without a projected starting corner wouldn't exactly be the way they would hope to begin the season.
