Arizona Cardinals QB Drew Stanton could be limited during offseason workouts since he is recovering from a knee injury.

Huddle Up: Stanton was limited to 1,711 yards and seven TD passes in nine games -- including eight starts -- this past season, but if all goes according to plan, he won't start a game this coming year, resuming a backup role behind hopefully healthy veteran Carson Palmer.

Arizona Cardinals QB Drew Stanton (knee) 'should be ready to go' for the team's offseason workouts after suffering a right knee injury that caused him to miss the final three regular season games, according to head coach Bruce Arians.

Huddle Up: Ideally Stanton will be working on being the backup plan to Carson Palmer, but as the Cardinals found out the hard way this season you can never have too many quarterbacks.

  • Posted: 1/5/2015 12:04am ET

Arizona Cardinals QB Drew Stanton said he will not need any more surgery on his injured knee. Stanton said there was a realistic chance that he would have been able to play if the team advanced in the playoffs.

Huddle Up: Stanton will now have plenty of time to heal, and he projects as the backup to Carson Palmer next season in the desert.

  • Posted: 1/1/2015 3:35pm ET

Arizona Cardinals QB Drew Stanton (knee) will not play in the Wild Card game Saturday, Jan. 3 against the Carolina Panthers.

Huddle Up: No real surprise here as it'll be Ryan Lindley starting Saturday against the Panthers, and the Cards just have to hope that the QB's improved showing (23-of-39 for 316 yards and 2 TDs) from the regular-season finale will carry over -- only without the three interceptions.

  • Posted: 12/26/2014 3:11pm ET

Arizona Cardinals QB Drew Stanton (knee) had arthroscopic surgery to fight an infection in his knee, according to a league source. Stanton may be done for the year.

Huddle Up: Another brutal setback for the Cards and their chances of advancing in the playoffs and certainly a red flag for those who be considering using any Arizona pass-catcher in postseason fantasy play.

  • Posted: 12/25/2014 9:30pm ET

Arizona Cardinals QB Drew Stanton (knee) did not practice Thursday, Dec. 25.

Huddle Up: The Cards are hoping to have the QB available for the playoffs, but that certainly remains a question mark if he's still unable to do anything in practice.

  • Posted: 12/24/2014 1:48pm ET

Arizona Cardinals QB Drew Stanton (knee) will receive some practice time this week and has around an 85 percent chance of being ready for the team's first playoff game, according to head coach Bruce Arians.

Huddle Up: Something to keep in mind if you're planning on indulging in some postseason fantasy play as there is some some hope remaining for the Cards' skill-position players.

  • Posted: 12/22/2014 8:12pm ET

Arizona Cardinals QB Drew Stanton (knee) will not be ready to start in Week 17 against the San Francisco 49ers, according to head coach Bruce Arians. The team is hoping that Stanton can be ready to play in the team's first playoff game, whether it's in the wild card or divisional round. Stanton had some swelling in his right knee after a practice last week, but the swelling went down quickly.

Huddle Up: Continued bad news for those owning Cards' skill-position players as rookie Logan Thomas will start the regular-season finale against the Niners.

Arizona Cardinals QB Drew Stanton (knee) said this injury is different from any other he's ever had, and he said it's too soon to know if he could return to play in Week 16 against the Seattle Seahawks. He hasn't had any setbacks and started jogging with a brace on his right knee this week. Stanton watched practice Wednesday, Dec. 17, and has thrown a ball recently. 'It's felt good,' Stanton said. 'It's one of those things you just go to kinda take time and the healing process is different for everybody.'

Huddle Up: You know you're in a sticky wicket when getting Drew Stanton back represents an upgrade to your quarterback position, yet that's exactly where the NFC-leading Cardinals sit.

  • Posted: 12/12/2014 2:32pm ET

Arizona Cardinals QB Drew Stanton (knee) has been diagnosed with a sprained knee, and he's listed as week-to-week, according to a source. Stanton's season isn't believed to be finished.

Huddle Up: Great news for the Cards, but it very much remains to be seen if he'll be able to play and be of any fantasy use in the team's final two regular-season games.

  • Posted: 12/12/2014 11:03am ET

Updating previous reports, Arizona Cardinals QB Drew Stanton (knee) may have suffered an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament. He had a previous tear in the same knee.

Huddle Up: The Cardinals will move forward with Ryan Lindley and Logan Thomas at quarterback, unless they hit the scrap heap for another veteran. Makes a deep playoff run trickier, that's for sure; it also could torpedo what little fantasy value Larry Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd still had.

  • Posted: 12/12/2014 12:21am ET

Arizona Cardinals QB Drew Stanton was ruled out for the remainder of the team's game Thursday, Dec. 11 after suffering a right-knee injury in the third quarter.

Huddle Up: It's been tough enough for the Cards' pass-catchers going from Carson Palmer to Stanton, and now it may be Ryan Lindley, who was 4-of-10 for 30 yards in relief in his first action since 2012, finishing out the season if Stanton's knee injury turns out serious.

  • Posted: 12/11/2014 11:16pm ET

Arizona Cardinals QB Drew Stanton (knee) is questionable to return to the team's game Thursday, Dec. 11, after suffering a right knee injury in the third quarter. QB Ryan Lindley replaced Stanton.

Huddle Up: Another QB has gone down for the star-crossed Cards as Stanton (12-of-20, 109 yards) was taken into the lockerroom for evaluation after being unable to put much weight on his right leg. Not surprisingly, it was the recently re-signed but more experienced Lindley who was thrust into action instead of rookie Logan Thomas. More info on Stanton's injury should be forthcoming.

  • Posted: 12/9/2014 11:48pm ET

Arizona Cardinals QB Drew Stanton (ankle, knee) was listed as a limited participant in practice Tuesday, Dec. 9, due to ankle and knee injuries.

Huddle Up: Stanton should be fine to start Thursday in St. Louis but faces a rugged challenge against what's been one of the league's best defenses over the last month.

  • Posted: 11/24/2014 10:09am ET

Updating a previous report, Arizona Cardinals QB Drew Stanton (ankle) said Sunday, Nov. 23, that his ankle got rolled in the Week 12 game against the Seattle Seahawks late in the fourth quarter. He said he was fine, and would have played if the team got the ball back.

Huddle Up: The Cards are already on their backup quarterback, so losing Stanton would have been a disaster. He may be limited in practice this week but should be good to go for Week 13.

  • Posted: 10/10/2014 11:52pm ET

Updating a previous report, Arizona Cardinals QB Drew Stanton (concussion) has passed all his exams and has been cleared to play in the Week 6 game against the Washington Redskins Sunday, Oct. 12.

Huddle Up: Carson Palmer is a game-time decision as well but now we know for sure at least Logan Thomas won't have to make a start this week for Arizona. It's good news for the Cardinals skill players.

  • Posted: 10/8/2014 8:49pm ET

Arizona Cardinals QB Drew Stanton (concussion) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Oct. 8.

Huddle Up: Stanton and Carson Palmer and both questionable this week. If neither can play, rookie Logan Thomas will get the start. That's not good news for anyone who has a Cardinals receiver on their roster.

  • Posted: 9/19/2014 5:54pm ET

Arizona Cardinals QB Drew Stanton will be the starting quarterback in the team's Week 3 game, according to head coach Bruce Arians.

Huddle Up: There was some hope for a Carson Palmer comeback but that's on hold for another week. In the meantime, Michael Floyd's fantasy owners are hoping for a better fantasy connection between the QB and WR this Sunday as Floyd only had 1 catch for 19 yards in the Week 2 win over the Giants.
