The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports Green Bay Packers WR James Jones beat out WR Jordy Nelson for the No. 3 wide receiver job.
The Huddle Take: Both should see action in what projects to be an extremely potent Packer passing game, but as the third receiver Jones would stand to be in line for a larger share of the statistical pie.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports Green Bay Packers WR James Jones (hamstring) is day-to-day with a hamstring injury he suffered Saturday, Aug. 15, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.
The Huddle Take: Jones is poised to take over the No. 2 receiver spot in Green Bay from the aging Donald Driver, but this is a major setback. Jones is a speed guy, and hamstring injuries tend to linger. If he doesn't completely recover soon, the Packers will likely keep Jones relegated to No. 3 status.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette, reports Green Bay Packers WR James Jones (hamstring) did not participate in practice Monday, Aug. 17.
The Huddle Take: Jones is poised to make a nice contribution in the passing game for Green Bay this season but keep in mind that hamstring injuries can linger and limit production for several weeks.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports Green Bay Packers WR James Jones said he is completely healed from the knee injury that bothered him all of last season. 'Im definitely back to being myself,' Jones said. 'My knee is 100 percent, and thats really the only thing I was worried about. Id never really been injured before. Im just glad its behind me. Id be lying if I said last season wasnt (frustrating). It was definitely frustrating.'
The Huddle Take: If Jones can prove on the field he's healthy, he may start to establish himself as Green Bay's No. 2 receiver behind Greg Jennings, who has unquestionably taken the No. 1 spot away from Donald Driver. Don't be surprised if the Packers start easing Jones into that No. 2 slot this season, since Driver is 34 years old. The transition will happen; it's just a matter of whether or not it will be this season or next.
