ANG Newspapers, reports Oakland Raiders head coach Tom Cable said RB Michael Bush will be the backup running back to starting RB Darren McFadden in Week 2.
The Huddle Take: Bush had a tremendous showing in Week 1 against San Diego and should likely play an important role in the Raiders offense all season long. From a fantasy standpoint, he should be viewed as a solid No. 2 running back worthy of starting against any opponent. He appears to be in line to get the goal line carries which makes him even more valuable in fantasy leagues.

CBSSports.com report Oakland Raiders head coach Tom Cable said the Raiders have six legitimate playmakers on the offensive side of the ball. He categorizes RB Darren McFadden, RB Michael Bush, TE Zach Miller, WR Chaz Schilens, WR Darrius Heyward-Bey and WR Louis Murphy as playmakers.
The Huddle Take: That list may be stretching the definition of "legitimate playmakers" just a bit, but the fact that Bush and McFadden are included—and Justin Fargas is not—should give you a pretty good clue as to how carries will shake down in the Oakland backfield this season.

PewterReport.com reports the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are interested in trading for Oakland Raiders RB Michael Bush, according to multiple league sources.
The Huddle Take: The Bucs just released Warrick Dunn and have two injured backs, Carnell Williams and Earnest Graham, atop their depth chart. The Raiders, meanwhile, have Darren McFadden and Justin Fargas as well as Bush and have been looking to deal either Fargas or Bush. Should this deal go down, there would be myriad fantasy ramifications for all the backs involved, so it's one to keep an eye on.

The Associated Press reports Oakland Raiders RB Michael Bush had 27 carries for a career-high 177 yards with two rushing touchdowns during the team?s Week 17 game. Bush also caught a six-yard reception in the game.
The Huddle Take: Michael Bush has come a long way back from the terrible injury he sustained during his senior season with the Louisville Cardinals, however he appears to have supplanted himself firmly in the mix in Oakland. With Darren McFadden also with the Raiders, look for a running back by committee approach for the Raiders in 2009 as both runners look to be involved heavily in the running game.

ANG Newspapers reports Oakland Raiders head coach Tom Cable said he likes what he has seen from RB Michael Bush as a fullback in practice. Cable said the switch is based on need. "It's a need, a definite need. It's something that I think he has really taken to now because it means him being involved now, being on the field more," Cable said. "When you're the third runner, you really only have one ball and that gives the chance for only two guys to handle it probably at this level. The third guy is the odd man out. This will get him on the field and get him involved. I think that's important."
The Huddle Take: Bush has been resisting this move, but maybe the Raiders can sell him on being more of a Mike Alstott type of fullback than, say, a Lorenzo Neal type. The Raiders haven't had a running back rushing score since Week 2, so getting a strong inside runner like Bush on the field more frequently couldn't hurt.
