Huddle Up: Well, here's a pretty strong indicator that's LeGarrette Blount could miss some time with his hip injury as the former Bronco Ball joins the backfield mix with James White and Brandon Bolden.

Huddle Up: The Browns are always looking to upgrade their backfield. Ball wouldn't be an immediate threat to Isaiah Crowell but he would provide depth with Terrance West now in Tennessee.

Huddle Up: With Devonta Freeman and his hammy still hurting, and rookies Tevin Coleman anbd Terron Ward currently topping the depth chart, the Falcons certainly can use some backfield bodies, but signing Ball would likely just amount to a stop-gap depth measure.

Huddle Up: It's been a sudden and shocking decline for the 2013 second-round pick who was a second-round pick in most fantasy drafts a year ago. Still, an unproductive and injury-marred 2014 season was followed by a poor preseason (68 yards on 32 carries) in which he was outperformed by RBs Ronnie Hillman and Juwan Thompson.

Huddle Up: The Cowboys have been linked to just about every free-agent or soon-to-be free-agent RB, but so far Jerry Jones has held his water and appears to be sticking with the Joseph Randle-Darren McFadden-Lance Dunbar triumvirate. That could change in a hurry, though, if Dallas stumbles out of the gates and the ground game struggles to find early traction.

Huddle Up: So much for Montee's audition. There's a very real chance he'll be released by the Broncos; then he can join Trent Richardson in competition for backup jobs.

Huddle Up: Wow, remember a year ago at this time when Ball -- the team's second-round pick in 2013 -- was being drafted as a RB1? That's a 2014 groin injury and a deeply disappointing 2015 preseason ago, and in case you haven't been paying attention to the Denver depth chart, Ronnie Hillman and Juwan Thompson are the immediate backups behind starter C.J. Anderson.

Huddle Up: Hillman played well last season when Ball got hurt and he's having a great training camp. If C.J. Anderson goes down the Broncos may use a combination of backs but Hillman looks like he'll be first in line for the most touches.

Huddle Up: Broncos coach Gary Kubiak has been a "play the hot hand" guy before, but at least heading into the season the popular opinion is that Ball will play second fiddle to Anderson. There may be enough of a workload that even Ball's secondary role provides fantasy value, but you certainly can't bank on him being a fantasy factor at this juncture.

Huddle Up: What Montee is expecting and what Montee will get this fall may be two different things entirely, as Anderson claimed the starting gig late last season and shows no signs of giving up a significant portion of the carries.

Huddle Up: Due to injury issues, Ball was limited to five games and 172 rushing yards last season after a promising finish to his 2013 rookie campaign and became the forgotten man with Anderson's late-season emergence. Expect Anderson to again get the starting nod and majority of the Broncos' workload in 2015 but don't forget about Ball, a second-round pick, who will get his share of the carries if he can stay healthy.
