The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports Dallas Cowboys PK Nick Folk (hip) handled some kickoffs Friday, July 31, and said his surgically repaired right hip felt fine. Folk also made three field goal attempts from 51 yards before the teams practice. Two of his kickoffs reached the goal line. Folk said, It's getting there. It's a little sore, but that's to be expected. We've just got to push through it and take some breaks. But it's feeling better than it did all of last year.
The Huddle Take: That has to be good news for Folk owners or those interested in him. A solid fantasy performer, being healthy can only help - one would assume. Without quite as many playmakers as they've had in the past, Folk could see a career year this season, but regardless should finish in the top of the kicker ranks

Todd Archer, of The Dallas Morning News, reports Cowboys PK Nick Folk said he is feeling great and will do some light running Monday, June 8. Folk said he should be able to kick a volleyball in mid- to late June. He will use a volleyball because it is lighter than a football and offers less resistance.
The Huddle Take: It doesn't appear as if Folk's recent hip surgery will prevent him from kicking this season, though it's certainly something to be aware of heading into drauction day this August. All it will take is a few 50-yarders during training camp and Folk will be right back amongst the elite fantasy kickers.

The Associated Press reports Dallas Cowboys PK Nick Folk (hip) underwent hip surgery Tuesday, May 5. He should resume light kicking work in about eight weeks, and the Cowboys hope he can handle full kicking work in 12 weeks.
The Huddle Take: With the Cowboys offense likely to have trouble moving the ball more in 2009, Nick Folk could be poised for a nice season as Dallas could find themselves kicking more field goals than before. As long as Nick Folk doesn't suffer any setbacks to his recovery then he should be one of the first kickers taken in the latter rounds of fantasy drafts.
