Free-agent WR Marlon Brown (Ravens) re-signed with the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, March 17, on an undisclosed deal. He wasn't tendered as a restricted free agent last week.

Huddle Up: Brown is headed for his fourth season in Baltimore, but the fantasy fanfare remains lacking as he's coming off a career-low 14 catches for 112 yards a season ago and now the Ravens have added even more WR depth with the signing of Mike Wallace.

Baltimore Ravens WR Marlon Brown caught three passes for 64 yards in a 20-19 preseason loss to Atlanta Falcons Thursday, Sept. 3.

Huddle Up: With Breshad Perriman still battling knee issues, Brown could see significant time in the receiver spot opposite Steve Smith.

Baltimore Ravens WR Marlon Brown (back) is regarded as day-to-day.

Huddle Up: Brown, who's trying regain his 2013 form when he caught 49 passes for 524 yards and seven TDs, has drawn his share of offseason praise, but he can't afford to miss too much time as he's battling a host of other young wideouts for one of the team's backup wideout spots.

Baltimore Ravens WR Marlon Brown worked out four days a week during the offseason and watched more film than in the past. He has impressed wide receivers coach Bobby Engram, 'You really saw Marlon come on strong the last half of last season, and we see the same thing in OTAs and minicamp,' he said. 'He's made a lot of plays, and he understands multiple positions. He's a worker and he's a technician who's learning how to continue to hone his craft.' Head coach John Harbaugh also noted, 'He's just a really gifted player. Like I said, I have high hopes for him. I really want to see him break out.'

Huddle Up: Steve Smith's 2014 arrival proved costly to Brown as he fell from 12 starts in 2013 to one last season and saw his receptions (49-24) and receiving yards (524-255) sliced in half while his TD receptions dropped from seven to zero. Exit Torrey Smith and enter first-round pick Breshad Perriman, and Brown figures to be the front-runner for the No. 3 WR gig.
