The Denver Post reports free-agent RB Selvin Young has a herniated disc in his neck that won't be healed completely until September at the earliest. He has received two opinions on the neck, one being rest for six months and the other being surgery. If he went the surgery route, he could be back by June but it would also carry a higher risk long-term. He opted against surgery.
The Huddle Take: There may be some sort of injury settlement in Young's release from the Broncos, and if Young does have such an injury it will make it extremely difficult for him to catch on with another team any time in the near future.

Denver Broncos RB Selvin Young (neck) may need surgery to fix a ruptured disc in his neck. The team will have a better idea if Young will need to undergo the surgery in a month.
The Huddle Take: At first blush this is the kind of injury that has "career ender" written all over it. Let's hope that's not the case and that Young can have a full NFL career. He can be very productive in the Bronco running attack if his health allows it.

Denver Broncos RB Selvin Young (groin) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Dec. 10. He has told his coaches he feels ready to play. He may return to the lineup for Week 15 but will need at least a game or two to get back into football shape.
The Huddle Take: Young has been inconsistent for much of the season even when he has been healthy and at full strength. If your fantasy team is needing help from a Denver running back then you should look more at Tatum Bell than Young since Bell at least has the capabilities of being a home-run threat if he gets past the line of scrimmage.
