Miami Dolphins QB Matt Moore, WR Mike Wallace, WR Brian Hartline, DE Cameron Wake, LB Dannell Ellerbe and LB Philip Wheeler will count $50.07 million against the salary cap in 2014.

Huddle Up: That will be something to deal with a year from now, but in the meantime, the Fins hopefully have enough cap space to bolster their offensive line, which has been overlooked during their recent FA spending spree.

The Miami Dolphins re-signed QB Matt Moore. Moore's new contract is reportedly for two years and worth $8 million.

Huddle Up: Moore had hoped to compete for a starting gig somewhere, but it looks like he's willing to accept a backup role to Ryan Tannehill in Miami.

The Cleveland Browns may show interest in Miami Dolphins impending free-agent QB Matt Moore this offseason as well as Kansas City Chiefs QB Matt Cassel if he is released.

Huddle Up: Both are viable options for the Browns, who aren't expected to retain No. 2 QB Colt McCoy. Moore is looking for a starting role, and signing with the Browns may give him a decent opportunity as he would be competing against second-year QB Brandon Weeden for the job.

Impending free-agent QB Matt Moore (Dolphins) plans to test the open market to see if there's a starting job available in a situation that's appealing to him.

Huddle Up: The Dolphins would like to retain Moore as an insurance policy behind second-year starter Ryan Tannehill, but who can blame Moore for seeking a starting gig? There doesn't appear to be a situation where the mediocre Moore would simply be handed a No. 1 job, but he'd certainly be in the running if he signed somewhere like K.C. or Arizona.

Updating a previous item, Miami Dolphins QBs Ryan Tannehill (knee, thigh) and Matt Moore both took reps with the first-team offense in practice Wednesday, Oct. 31. Tannehill took snaps with the starters early on in individual drills and then Moore took snaps with the starting offense in team drills. Tannehill seemed clearly slower in his drop than he usually does.

Huddle Up: Matt Moore is a quality backup, so the Dolphins should feel no rush to get Tannehill back on the field and risk further injury. It looks like it might come down to a game-time decision at this point. Whoever starts does have a pretty good matchup; plugging Matt Moore into a two-quarterback league lineup would not be a terrible idea if you have an iffy situation at your QB2 spot.

The Miami Dolphins have received calls from teams about QB Matt Moore; however, it's unclear if Miami is willing to deal Moore at this point.

Huddle Up: Miami still has 4 QBs on its roster, including veteran David Garrard and rookie first-rounder Ryan Tannehill, so expect some sort of move involving one of Tannehill's backups.

Miami Dolphins quarterback Matt Moore was disappointed in the outcome of the team's QB competition and losing the starting job to Ryan Tannehill. 'I'm doing my job....I was disappointed. As a leader of the team you want to be back there with the guys,' Moore said.

Huddle Up: Keep your head up Matt. With the Fins going with a rookie who has limited college experience playing QB, you could be back as the starter sooner rather than later.

Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin said the team could name the starting quarterback this week but there is also a chance the team does not make the decision for another week. QBs Matt Moore and Ryan Tannehill continue to compete for the job and their performances in the third preseason game could be a big factor in the choice.

Huddle Up: The rook has has put up the better preseason numbers so far (Tannehill: 25-of-44, 267 yards, 1 TD 0 INT; Moore: 12-of-27, 136, 0 TD, 1 INT), but there's no reason to settle on a starter now. Neither, however, should be counted on for much of a fantasy impact this season.

Miami Dolphins QBs Matt Moore and Ryan Tannehill will split reps with the first team this week in practice, and head coach Joe Philbin said he will let things play out before naming a starter for the team's preseason game Friday, Aug. 17. "As the week progresses, we're going to kinda make a decision," Philbin said. "Again, we haven't quite crossed that bridge yet."

Huddle Up: The conservative plan is to have the veteran Moore start until the rookie Tannehill is ready. But Tannehill looked pretty good in Miami's preseason opener and may be expediting that timetable.

Posted: 5/24/2012 9:00pm et

Miami Dolphins QB Matt Moore said the team will not need a go-to receiver under offensive coordinator Mike Sherman's offense because all the receivers move to different spots on every play.

Huddle Up: Heck, forget the lack of star-power in Miami's WR corps... what about the quarterback position? Moore, Ryan Tannehill, and David Garrard are all going to split reps this summer. Yikes.
