Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles went 12-for-20 for-159 yards and one interception in the preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings Saturday, Aug. 18.

Huddle Up: Bortles is coming off a productive playoff run and will have a solid receiving corps to work with this season. He probably should be considered a No. 2 quarterback in deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 7/4/2018 4:33pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles has earned the trust of offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, and Hackett said Bortles' improved decision making will allow him to be 'a lot more aggressive' with his play calling.

Huddle Up: There were times when the Jaguars were winning in spite of Bortles, but he has topped 20 passing touchdowns and 300 rushing yards in each of the past three seasons. A few more shots down the field could boost his numbers a bit, but he should be a solid QB2 regardless.

  • Posted: 6/2/2018 8:46pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles has been 'relaxed' at OTAs because he no longer needs to think about the plays or his footwork, according to offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.

Huddle Up: Bortles can have his issues with turnovers, but he's also a good bet for 20-plus touchdown passes and a sneaky source of rushing yards. He's a solid QB2.

  • Posted: 2/26/2018 4:00pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles has thrown for 90 career passing touchdowns and just under 15,000 passing yards. Former NFL QBs Peyton Manning, Dan Marino and Drew Bledsoe and Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford are the only quarterbacks in NFL history to achieve those numbers before turning 26 years old. Bortles turns 26 in April.

Huddle Up: It's a strange world we live in when we can mention Bortles' name positively in the same sentence as Peyton Manning and Dan Marino. And while technically Bortles is not a part of that list since he has not reached 15,000 yards yet, he's practically there. Coming off an unsung season and after just signing a big contract extension, Bortles is an underrated potential QB1.

  • Posted: 2/25/2018 9:06am ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) said he is on schedule in his recovery from offseason wrist surgery and should be fully cleared by early March.

Huddle Up: Bortles played well at times this season and will have some value in fantasy leagues next season. He can be considered a No. 2 fantasy quarterbacks in most leagues but has the chance to be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 2/24/2018 4:30pm ET

Updating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles agreed to a new three-year contract with the Jaguars Saturday, Feb. 24, worth $54 million, according to a source. The deal includes $26 million in guaranteed money and could be worth as much as $66.5 million with incentives.

Huddle Up: Bortles improved his play in 2017 and will have most of his receivers back next season. He should be at least a No. 2 fantasy quarterback in most leagues and has a chance to low-end No. 1 quarterback in some deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 2/24/2018 4:28pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles is close to agreeing to a multi-year contract extension with the Jaguars that will run through the 2020 season, according to sources.

Huddle Up: Bortles played well during the second half of the season and also posted good numbers during the playoffs. He will have a solid receiving corps to work with next season and can be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback in most leagues and possibly a low-end No. 1 quarterback in deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 2/23/2018 6:47pm ET

The Jacksonville Jaguars are actively pursuing upgrades to QB Blake Bortles, according to a league source.

Huddle Up: If Bortles ends up entering 2018 as the starter, he's a worthwhile fantasy backup. He has topped 20 touchdowns in each of the last three seasons and is sneaky effective as a runner.

  • Posted: 2/11/2018 7:24pm ET

The Jacksonville Jaguars could select a quarterback in the first or second round of the 2018 NFL Draft to provide competition for QB Blake Bortles, according Mike DiRocco of ESPN.com.

Huddle Up: Bortles' long-term future with the Jaguars remains in doubt, but he should at least be a quality QB2 in 2018. He has thrown more than 20 touchdowns in each of the last three seasons and has topped 300 rushing yards in all four years in the league.

  • Posted: 1/30/2018 1:22pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) is expected to remain with the Jaguars despite recently undergoing surgery on his injured wrist, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Rapoport said the plan all along has been for Bortles to return as starter.

Huddle Up: The Jaguars have to be tempted to draft a quarterback in such a deep draft class, but Bortles improved in 2017 and quarterbacked Jacksonville to the AFC Championship. He has his fair share of mistakes, which he cut back on last season, but Bortles is an underrated fantasy quarterback thanks in no small part to his running ability.

  • Posted: 1/29/2018 8:56pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) had surgery on his right wrist Friday, Jan. 26, for a condition that had bothered him since December of 2016, according to sources.

Huddle Up: As a first-round pick entering his fifth season, the surgery leaves Bortles in even more limbo, as his fifth-year club option is only guaranteed for injury. Bortles' place on the roster was already tenuous given the likelihood of quarterbacks such as Kirk Cousins and Alex Smith expected to be available and the Jaguars' new status as a place potentially available quarterbacks will want to go. At the moment, it's looking like Bortles may not be on the Jacksonville roster when the middle of March rolls around.

  • Posted: 1/22/2018 2:47pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles said he would be 'thrilled' to remain with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The fourth-year quarterback will be an impending free agent in 2019.

Huddle Up: Bortles did his part in leading the Jaguars to the AFC Championship. His numbers don't jump off the chart, but he made fewer mistakes than in previous years. His running ability makes him an underrated fantasy quarterback.

  • Posted: 1/21/2018 3:33pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles completed 23-of-36 passes for 293 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in the AFC Championship Game against the New England Patriots on Sunday, Jan. 21.

Huddle Up: Bortles and his teammates were outscored 14-3 in the decisive fourth quarter to derail their chances at a first Super Bowl appearance, but it was a great season for the Jags. He finished the regular season with a 60.2 completion percentage, 3,687 yards and 21 touchdowns with 13 interceptions. As such, he'll be in the low-end QB1 fantasy discussion in larger leagues, but he should mostly be a QB2 in most formats.

  • Posted: 1/19/2018 1:31pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 19, and is not on the injury report for the AFC Championship game.

Huddle Up: Bortles had a solid second half of the season and has posted decent numbers in the playoffs but will be facing a good New England Patriots defense in the championship game. He may not be asked to throw much during the game and can be a considered a risky fantasy option for owners.

  • Posted: 1/18/2018 2:01pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Thursday, Jan. 18.

Huddle Up: Bortles has posted solid numbers over the last few weeks but may be asked to do more in the AFC Championship game. He will be facing a solid New England Patriots defense and will be a risky fantasy option.

  • Posted: 1/17/2018 1:48pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) participated fully in practice Wednesday, Jan. 17.

Huddle Up: There's a lot on Bortles' shoulders heading into the AFC Championship. He'll need to be mistake-free in order for the Jaguars to upset the New England Patriots. He'll be a borderline QB1, largely thanks to his running ability, going into the 2018 fantasy year.

  • Posted: 1/15/2018 4:40pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles has averaged just 193 passing yards in away games this season while throwing six touchdowns and eight interceptions in those contests.

Huddle Up: Bortles and the Jaguars will be in Massachusetts this weekend in their toughest test of the year against the New England Patriots. The up-and-down quarterback has often been a weak link for the Jaguars, but has done enough to help get them to this point. That being said, he's not a legitimate QB1 candidate for next season but is capable of QB1 weeks.

  • Posted: 1/14/2018 2:49pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles completed 14 of his 26 pass attempts for 214 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in the AFC Divisional Round playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, Jan. 14. He also ran five times for 35 yards.

Huddle Up: It wasn't pretty, although a vast improvement over last weekend, and it doesn't matter. The Jaguars have won two straight playoff games and will head to Foxboro to meet the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game. Bortles might be able to move the ball against a Patriots pass defense which struggled earlier in the season.

  • Posted: 1/12/2018 11:06am ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 12, and is not on the injury report for the Divisional Round playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Huddle Up: Bortles had some solid outings during the second half of the season but is coming off a disappointing Wild Card playoff game. He probably will be able to post better numbers against the Steelers but will not be a strong fantasy option for owners.

  • Posted: 1/11/2018 12:22pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Thursday, Jan. 11.

Huddle Up: Bortles is coming off a disappointing Wild Card playoff game and will be facing a solid Pittsburgh Steelers defense for the second time this season. He was not asked to do much in the team's win over the Steelers during the regular season but probably will have to be more productive during the Divisional Round game. Owners in most fantasy leagues should be able to find better options for their lineups.

  • Posted: 1/10/2018 1:47pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Jan. 10.

Huddle Up: Bortles looked like the Bortles of 2014 and 2016 in the Jaguars' wild-card win last week. He'll be in a raucous, hostile atmosphere in a playoff game on the road against a quality Pittsburgh Steelers defense, so don't bet on him making up for last week's dismal output.

  • Posted: 1/7/2018 1:20pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles rushed for 88 yards on 10 carries against the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card playoff game Sunday, Jan. 7. He also went 12-for-23 for 87 yards and one touchdown during the game.

Huddle Up: Bortles was not able to do much in the passing game but his running helped win the game for the Jaguars. He will be facing the Pittsburgh Steelers next week and will not be a strong fantasy option.

  • Posted: 1/5/2018 12:06pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 5, and is not on the injury report for the Wild Card playoff game.

Huddle Up: Bortles has played well over the last several months and has some value in fantasy leagues. He could be considered a low-end No. 1 fantasy quarterback this week.

  • Posted: 1/4/2018 12:45pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Thursday, Jan. 4.

Huddle Up: Bortles has been a solid fantasy option during the second half of the season and should have some success against the Buffalo Bills. He can be considered a low-end No. 1 fantasy quarterback this week.

  • Posted: 1/3/2018 2:19pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Jan. 3.

Huddle Up: Bortles played well during the second half of the season but has thrown five interceptions over the last two games. He should have most of his offensive weapons available for the game and can be a low-end No. 1 fantasy quarterback.

  • Posted: 12/29/2017 6:13pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) was a full participant in practice Friday, Dec. 29, and he has been removed from the Week 17 injury report.

Huddle Up: Bortles is expected to play against the Tennessee Titans, and he has been putting up QB1 numbers recently. However, Jacksonville's playoff seeding already secured, so there is always chance he could be pulled early.

  • Posted: 12/28/2017 2:28pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 29.

Huddle Up: Bortles is expected to play in Week 17 even though the Jaguars are not playing for playoff seeding. He has played very well during the second half of the season and can be a low-end No. 1 fantasy quarterback this week because of the favorable matchup.

  • Posted: 12/27/2017 3:53pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) was able to take part in a full practice session Wednesday, Dec. 27.

Huddle Up: Bortles has appeared on the injury for a majority of the season, but he hasn't missed any game time due to his wrist injury. He'll be fine for Week 17 and the playoffs.

  • Posted: 12/24/2017 8:10pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles completed 32 of his 50 pass attempts for 382 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions in Week 16 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Huddle Up: Bortles saved his best for last. He had just one game with two or more touchdowns passes over his first 11 games, and he had just one 300-yard game during the span. However, he has three 300-yard games with at least two touchdowns strikes in each of the past four outings.

  • Posted: 12/22/2017 12:40pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 22, and is not on the injury report for Week 16.

Huddle Up: Bortles has been a solid fantasy option over the last several weeks and should have a favorable matchup this week. Owners in deeper leagues can consider Bortles as a low-end No. 1 quarterback.

  • Posted: 12/21/2017 2:11pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 21.

Huddle Up: Bortles has been a productive fantasy option over the last several weeks and should have another favorable matchup this week. He can be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 12/21/2017 11:44am ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles has thrown just eight interceptions so far this year after throwing at least 16 of said interceptions in each of his first three seasons.

Huddle Up: Who knew all Bortles needed was for the Jaguars to lose their best wide receiver (Allen Robinson) in order for him to be a consistent quarterback? If Bortles can continue his 2017 success, including as a rusher, he's a legitimate QB1 candidate.

  • Posted: 12/20/2017 5:19pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Dec. 20.

Huddle Up: Bortles has been playing very well over the last month with seven touchdowns and one interception during that span. He has thrown for at least 300 yards in two of the last three games and can be a low-end No. 1 fantasy quarterback in Week 16.

  • Posted: 12/17/2017 7:31pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles completed 21 of his 29 pass attempts for 326 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 15 game against the Houston Texans.

Huddle Up: Bortles has the team into the playoffs, and they have a chance to earn a first-round bye, too, if things break right. He is picking up the pace lately, too. He had just one 300-yard passing game and one multi-TD in his first 11 games, but he has two 300-yard games in two of the past three outings and two or more TD passes in three straight.

  • Posted: 12/15/2017 4:32pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 15, and is not on the injury report for Week 15.

Huddle Up: Bortles has played well over the last several weeks with 577 yards and four touchdowns over the last two games. He will be facing a Houston Texans defense that has struggled at times against the pass and could be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 12/14/2017 3:44pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 14.

Huddle Up: Bortles has been playing well over the last few weeks with four touchdowns and zero interceptions in the last two games. He could be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in deeper leagues, but owners in most leagues likely have better options available.

  • Posted: 12/13/2017 3:59pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) was able to practice in full Wednesday, Dec. 13.

Huddle Up: Bortles has been listed on the injury report all season, but he continues to be fine to play. By now you know the drill.

  • Posted: 12/11/2017 5:23am ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles was 18-for-27 for 268 yards and two touchdowns against the Seattle Seahawks Sunday, Dec. 10.

Huddle Up: It's the second game in a row he has avoided throwing an interception. He'll have a solid matchup against the Houston Texans next week and could be a viable injury replacement.

  • Posted: 12/8/2017 3:54pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 8, and is not on the injury report for Week 14.

Huddle Up: Bortles has played well at times this season and is coming off a solid Week 13 performance. He will be facing a solid Seattle Mariners defense and probably should be avoided in most fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 12/7/2017 3:15pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 7.

Huddle Up: Bortles posted 309 yards and two touchdowns last week but will be facing a better defense in Week 14. He has been held to one touchdown or less in 10 of the 12 games this season and can be avoided in most leagues.

  • Posted: 12/6/2017 2:38pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) participated fully in practice Wednesday, Dec. 6.

Huddle Up: Bortles is coming off one of the best games of his career in Week 13, but don't be surprised if he comes back down to earth this week versus the Seattle Seahawks. The atmosphere at home will certainly be better than in Seattle, but Bortles isn't someone you want to count on in or right before the postseason.

  • Posted: 12/3/2017 7:20pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles completed 26 of his 35 pass attempts for 309 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 13 game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Huddle Up: It was just the second 300-yard passing game for Bortles this season, and also just his second multi-TD game of 2017. He has been a disappointment from a fantasy perspective, but the Jaguars are 8-4 overall so he is having a good season for his real team. He faces a difficult matchup in Week 14 when the Seahawks come to town.

  • Posted: 12/1/2017 3:23pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 1, and is not on the injury report for Week 13.

Huddle Up: Bortles had one of his best games of the season when he played the Indianapolis Colts a few weeks ago and has a chance to post good numbers again this week. He can be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in deeper leagues but can also be benched if owners have better options.

  • Posted: 11/30/2017 1:51pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 30.

Huddle Up: Bortles has been held to under 200 yards in each of the last two games, but did throw for 330 yards against the Indianapolis Colts a few weeks ago. He will have a favorable matchup, but owners probably have better options available.

  • Posted: 11/29/2017 1:38pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) took part in a full practice session Wednesday, Nov. 29.

Huddle Up: Bortles has been listed on the injury report for a good chunk of the season due to his right wrist ailment, but he rarely misses any practice time and hasn't missed any game time. He remains more of a QB2 for most fantasy owners, however.

  • Posted: 11/26/2017 8:45pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles completed 19 of his 33 pass attempts for 160 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in the Week 12 game against the Arizona Cardinals. He surprised with six grabs for 62 yards and two rushing scores, however.

Huddle Up: Bortles has had a trying season, posting one or no touchdown passes in 10 of his 11 games this season. No one saw the rushing touchdowns coming, as he entered the game with five TDs on the ground through his first 56 NFL games.

  • Posted: 11/24/2017 4:33pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 24, and is not on the injury report for Week 12.

Huddle Up: Bortles has thrown for at least 250 yards in three of the last four games and has four touchdowns and two interceptions during that span. Owners in most leagues should be able to find better options for their starting lineup and can avoid Bortles.

  • Posted: 11/23/2017 12:40pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 23.

Huddle Up: Bortles had a disappointing Week 11 performance but has thrown five touchdowns in the last five games. He probably should be considered a No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues this week.

  • Posted: 11/22/2017 2:05pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Nov. 22.

Huddle Up: Bortles may be in a favorable matchup, but he still shouldn't be started unless your fantasy team is desperate for a quarterback. That shouldn't be the case, though, with no teams on bye.

  • Posted: 11/19/2017 4:44pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles completed 17 of his 30 pass attempts for 154 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Week 11 against the Cleveland Browns.

Huddle Up: Bortles struggled against a rather middling Browns pass defense, and the Jaguars managed just one offensive touchdown in the 19-7 road win. He'll look to get back on track in Week 12 on the road against the Cardinals.
