Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief wants more yards after catch after his 2.5 yards after catch ranked 106th of 119 qualified receivers last season, according to Pro Football Focus. Moncrief has just one game of 75 or more yards in his last 23 games.

Huddle Up: Moncrief was a breakout candidate last season but ultimately fizzled and got hurt. The fourth-year receiver is playing for a contract, and now is as good of a time as any to have that breakout. He has 13 touchdowns in 25 games the last two years and could be a low-end WR3 or a high-end WR4.

  • Posted: 5/9/2017 12:25pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief wants to increase his yards after the catch this season, whether that's by getting into space or moving around the formation.

Huddle Up: Moncrief had just 58 yards after the catch on 30 receptions last year. He did only play in nine games, though. As stated earlier, the third-year receiver is best drafted as a low-end WR2 or high-end WR3.

  • Posted: 5/9/2017 11:23am ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief has already caught the eye of new wide receivers coach Sanjay Lal. Lal said Moncrief is a "piece of clay" with all of the tools to be one of the better receivers in the NFL.

Huddle Up: Coaches are obligated to talk up their players during the offseason, for what it's worth. Moncrief missed significant time last season with a fractured shoulder, but he was supremely efficient in finding the end zone, scoring six times in his last seven games. Moncrief is a viable low-end WR2 to high-end WR3 option.

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (shoulder) is listed as doubtful for the team's Week 17 finale Sunday, Jan. 1, against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He has missed practice each day this week.

Huddle Up: In a meaningless game for the Colts, expect Moncrief to be on the sidelines, especially since he's been battling injury all year. When he was out on the field, though, he looked very promising, as despite being limited to nine games, he impressively managed seven touchdown catches. Chester Rogers and Phillip Dorsett will each get a boost in his absence, but both would be boom-or-bust plays this weekend.

  • Posted: 12/29/2016 2:00pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (shoulder) did not practice Thursday, Dec. 29.

Huddle Up: Moncrief has missed practice for two straight days now. If he's sidelined tomorrow then his Week 17 availability will be doubtful. T.Y. Hilton is primed for WR1 numbers despite the possibility of being shadowed by Jalen Ramsey.

  • Posted: 12/26/2016 2:40pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (shoulder) is undergoing an MRI on his injured shoulder Monday, Dec. 26, according to head coach Chuck Pagano.

Huddle Up: The Colts have nothing to play for in the final week of the season, so don't be surprised if Moncrief sits out Week 17. If he does then Phillip Dorsett will start in his place, but he hasn't done much even when Moncrief has been sidelined. He's a desperation start if Moncrief is out.

  • Posted: 12/24/2016 7:52pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (shoulder) left the Week 16 game against the Oakland Raiders due to a shoulder injury and he was unable to return. It's uncertain if it is the same shoulder that forced him out for more than a month earlier in the season.

Huddle Up: If Moncrief is forced to miss the regular season finale it would be Phillip Dorsett forced to step up to fill the void.

  • Posted: 12/23/2016 2:20pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (hamstring) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 23, and is not on the injury report for Week 16.

Huddle Up: Moncrief should be back in the lineup after missing the last game. He has caught a touchdown in six of his eight games this season and has caught at least four passes in four of his last six games. Moncrief can be a decent No. 3 receiver in leagues because of his touchdown potential.

  • Posted: 12/22/2016 2:36pm ET

Updating a previous report, Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (hamstring) participated fully in practice Thursday, Dec. 22.

Huddle Up: Moncrief returns for what could be a high-scoring affair with the Oakland Raiders. Both defenses do not defend the pass well, so starting any one of the top two receivers in this contest is advised (T.Y. Hilton, Moncrief, Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree).

  • Posted: 12/22/2016 8:42am ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (hamstring) is practicing again Thursday, Dec. 22.

Huddle Up: He has been limited all week, and there's no indication if he has restrictions today. Moncrief is an upside receiver with a midrange matchup against the Oakland Raiders. He's a nice WR3 if he's without limitations this weekend.

  • Posted: 12/21/2016 2:46pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (hamstring) was limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 21.

Huddle Up: Unfortunately for Moncrief, he's up against one of the better pass defenses in the NFL in the Minnesota Vikings, and that's if he plays. The Vikings are only behind the Denver Broncos in fewest fantasy points allowed to receivers this year. Moncrief is a low-end WR2 or flex play if he's active.

  • Posted: 12/20/2016 3:41pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (hamstring) returned to practice Tuesday, Dec. 20, and was limited. He's expected to be limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 21, as well.

Huddle Up: This would appear to put Moncrief on track to play in Week 16 after he was inactive this past Sunday. The 23-year-old has been very useful for fantasy owners since the end of October, when he began a streak of scoring in five consecutive ballgames, though that came to an end with a zero-catch outing in Week 14. Even so, he'll be on the WR3 radar again if he does indeed return this weekend.

  • Posted: 12/15/2016 9:19am ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (hamstring) is not participating in practice Thursday, Dec. 15.

Huddle Up: Owners will need to check on Moncrief's status later in the week to see if he has a chance to play in Week 15. He has been able to find the end zone in six of his eight games this season but would be a risky option if he is active. Phillip Dorsett would have a bigger role if Moncrief sits but probably should be passed over in all leagues.

  • Posted: 12/14/2016 2:15pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (hamstring) missed practice Wednesday, Dec. 14.

Huddle Up: Moncrief has had more than his fair share of injuries this season. Hamstring ailments can be trick to come back from, so keep an eye on his progress, or lack thereof. If Moncrief can't play then Hilton is easily a WR1, while Phillip Dorsett still shouldn't be trusted.

  • Posted: 12/12/2016 3:47pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (hamstring) is day-to-day with a hamstring injury, according to head coach Chuck Pagano.

Huddle Up: Moncrief has been a touchdown machine this year, scoring six times in just eight games, including yesterday's game when he exited early. Keep tabs on his practice status this week and be prepared to pick up Phillip Dorsett if Moncrief can't play.

  • Posted: 12/12/2016 5:03am ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (hamstring) left the game Sunday, Dec. 12, with a hamstring injury and didn't return.

Huddle Up: Moncrief was held without a catch and ended his five-game touchdown streak. Check back for updates on the severity, but it doesn't look good since he didn't come back for crunch time.

  • Posted: 12/11/2016 9:49pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief had no receptions on four targets in the Week 14 game against the Houston Texans.

Huddle Up: Moncrief's five-game touchdown streak came to an end and he also saw his streak with three or more catches end at five games, too. He remains more of a low-end WR3 heading into Week 16 for fantasy owners.

  • Posted: 12/11/2016 12:59pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury in Week 14 and is considered questionable to return.

Huddle Up: Owners should monitor the situation to see if Moncrief's injury will keep him out for an extended period of time. He entered Week 14 with a touchdown in each of his last five games but is not a strong fantasy option.

  • Posted: 12/10/2016 6:09pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief has 11 touchdowns on 20 red zone targets since 2015, and he has caught a touchdown in each of his six full games this season.

Huddle Up: Moncrief's yardage totals vary, but his ability to find the end zone with regularity makes him no worse than a WR3.

  • Posted: 12/5/2016 9:27pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief posted four grabs for 26 yards and a touchdown in the Week 13 game against the New York Jets Monday, Dec. 5. He was targeted six times.

Huddle Up: It wasn't a great day statistically for Moncrief, but he had the red zone touchdown and he has scored in five consecutive games. He remains a decent WR3 in all fantasy leagues heading into Week 14 against the Houston Texans.

  • Posted: 11/23/2016 12:46pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (hamstring) was limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 23, and is listed as questionable for Week 12.

Huddle Up: Moncrief could be a game-time decision this week, so owners will need to check the inactive list to see if he is playing. He has caught a touchdown in each of the last three games but has not posted more than 55 yards in any of those games. He will not have Andrew Luck this week but could still be a flex option for desperate owners in deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 11/6/2016 9:09pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief posted three receptions for 55 yards and a touchdown on six targets in the Week 9 game against the Green Bay Packers.

Huddle Up: Moncrief has visited the end zone in each of his two games since returning from a shoulder injury that cost him multiple games. He has re-emerged as a solid WR3 in most fantasy formats, although he and his teammates are off in Week 10.

  • Posted: 10/30/2016 8:57am ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (shoulder) is officially active for the team's Week 8 game.

Huddle Up: Moncrief has missed multiple games because of the injury but should have a solid role in the passing game this week. Moncrief will be a risky option for owners because of the time he has missed but can still be a flex option in some leagues.

  • Posted: 10/28/2016 4:34pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 28, and is listed as questionable for Week 8.

Huddle Up: Moncrief is expected to play after missing the last several games because of his injury. He should have a solid role in the passing game this week and can be a No. 2 or No. 3 receiver in most fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 10/27/2016 1:33pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (shoulder) was still limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 27.

Huddle Up: Even with the limited status, Moncrief should play this weekend after a multi-week absence. He'll have even more value if T.Y. Hilton can't play. Giving Moncrief a full gamut of plays may not be the case this week in his return from a prolonged hiatus, but he should be in starting lineups in what is a tasty tilt with the Kansas City Chiefs.

  • Posted: 10/26/2016 1:22pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (shoulder) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 26.

Huddle Up: The long-awaited return is here for Moncrief, and he has a tasty matchup too against the Kansas City Chiefs. The main question is how much will he play after such a long hiatus? T.Y. Hilton is still the No. 1 receiver, but Moncrief is still at least a WR3 consideration in his first game back.

  • Posted: 10/25/2016 6:38am ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (scapula) will return to practice Wednesday, Oct. 26, in a limited capacity for the first time since Week 2. This is his sixth week of recovery in a four-to-six-week timetable.

Huddle Up: Moncrief is probably questionable against the Kansas City Chiefs this week. It's a tough matchup, and while we think Moncrief has upside the rest of the way, it may not be this week.

  • Posted: 10/20/2016 3:11pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (shoulder) did not practice Thursday, Oct. 20.

Huddle Up: Moncrief will be sidelined for at least another week. T.Y. Hilton has been the only consistent receiver for the Colts with Moncrief out. Phillip Dorsett has squandered his opportunity and should no longer be considered a starter, particularly this week in a less than favorable matchup with the Tennessee Titans.

  • Posted: 10/19/2016 2:22pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (shoulder) missed practice Wednesday, Oct. 19.

Huddle Up: It was previously reported that Moncrief was close to a return, but it doesn't look like he'll return this week. T.Y. Hilton remains the lone consistent receiving option for the Colts with Moncrief out. As stated earlier, the former is a low-end WR1 to high-end WR2 play in Week 7.

  • Posted: 10/17/2016 3:17pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (shoulder) is getting closer to returning to action, according to head coach Chuck Pagano, but there is still no set date for that return.

Huddle Up: It's a vague but promising update from Pagano. T.Y. Hilton will continue to be the only startable Colts' wide receiver as long as Moncrief is sidelined. Phillip Dorsett has done little since Moncrief was hurt. He is too big of a risk to start right now.

  • Posted: 10/3/2016 4:24pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (shoulder) is doing well but is still considered week-to-week, according to head coach Chuck Pagano.

Huddle Up: T.Y. Hilton is the only every-week start among Colts' wide receivers with Moncrief out, but Phillip Dorsett is capable of posting good numbers depending on the matchup. As for Andrew Luck, his ceiling is much more difficult to get to with Moncrief sidelined, but he's still a viable QB1 week in and week out.

  • Posted: 9/30/2016 8:14am ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (shoulder) has been ruled out for Week 4.

Huddle Up: No surprise here, and eyes will be on Phillip Dorsett to see if last year's first-round pick can establish himself in the offense. He's a flex option with some sneaky upside.

  • Posted: 9/21/2016 8:41am ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (shoulder blade) will miss four to six weeks with a fractured shoulder blade, according to head coach Chuck Pagano.

Huddle Up: Phillip Dorsett should see a bigger role. He has five catches for 124 yards, but he was targeted 11 times to grab five catches. He should be owned in most leagues now. Dwayne Allen should also see more action. He only has six grabs for 78 yards and a score, but he's a low-end TE1 option moving forward.

  • Posted: 9/20/2016 5:54pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief's (shoulder) status is still uncertain following a shoulder injury in Week 2 against the Denver Broncos. It is still being determined how much time Moncrief will miss, but he is not expected to be out for the rest of the season.

Huddle Up: If Moncrief misses any time, then Phillip Dorsett would suddenly become the Colts' No. 2 wide receiver with T.Y. Hilton maintaining his status as the No. 1 receiver. Dorsett should be claimed off waivers if he is available in standard leagues. He could be worth a start this week in what may be a high-scoring affair against the San Diego Chargers.

  • Posted: 9/19/2016 7:05am ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (shoulder) will undergo an MRI on his shoulder, according to a source.

Huddle Up: Moncrief has a 7-73-1 line on the year and has been a relatively quiet WR3 in fantasy. Check back for updates for his status for Week 3.

  • Posted: 9/18/2016 8:26pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (concussion) is going through the NFL's concussion protocol after leaving the Week 2 game against the Denver Broncos due to a head injury.

Huddle Up: Moncrief posted just one grab for nine yards on three targets before departing. Fantasy owners will want to see him officially return and prove his health in at least one full game without any setbacks before trusting him again. Phillip Dorsett and Quan Bray might benefit with more targets if Moncrief is forced to miss time.

  • Posted: 7/10/2016 5:57pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief caught 34 passes for 381 yards and five touchdowns through seven games with QB Andrew Luck under center last season. In the nine following games, Moncrief caught just 30 passes for 352 yards and a single touchdown.

Huddle Up: Expect a definite uptick in production if Luck can stay healthy, but don't bank on him being much more than a flex option in standard-scoring leagues at this point.
