Huddle Up: With Garoppolo slated for backup duty again in 2017, he won't have much fantasy value outside of keeper leagues.

Huddle Up: The Patriots have stood firm all spring on Garoppolo and consider him more valuable than the 12th overall selection, while the Browns have shown no desire to trade the No. 1 overall pick, so don't expect a deal to happen between now and Thursday. Texas A&M's Myles Garrett remains the favorite for the top pick, although the Browns' front office and coaching staff is reportedly split between him and North Carolina's Mitchell Trubisky.

Huddle Up: For owners looking to ride Garoppolo in the upcoming campaign while he begins his journey on another club, it's starting to look like that may never come to fruition. Obviously, if he becomes a starter somewhere else, he'll be someone worth watching, but at this point in time it looks like he'll hold no fantasy value while remaining behind Brady in New England.

Huddle Up: The Patriots are reportedly asking for the No. 1 overall pick in next month's draft. Meanwhile, the Browns have two 2017 first-round picks, two 2017 second-round selections and three second-round picks in 2018 following the Brock Osweiler trade. With that much ammunition, Cleveland could also consider a more proven veteran with a long-term contract. (Garoppolo is set to become a free agent in 2018.) Whichever route the Browns go, their quarterback will be no more than a low-end QB2 option in fantasy in 2017.

Huddle Up: Unless a team steps up and makes a move for Garoppolo, he is going to be a fantasy afterthought as he sits behind Tom Brady for another year.

Huddle Up: Unless Garoppolo is traded, his fantasy value will continue to be limited to dynasty formats.

Huddle Up: Garoppolo has zero fantasy luster behind Tom Brady, and he'll need a trade in order to have a pulse in fantasy in 2017.

Huddle Up: There have been reports that Garoppolo's price tag may be as high as a first- and fourth-rounder, but this sounds more reasonable. Volin notes that Matt Cassel, Kevin Kolb, Matt Schaub were traded under similar circumstances and all fetched second-round picks. Regardless of where he lands, he'll probably settle in as a low-end QB2 in fantasy.

Huddle Up: Garoppolo will be due for a change of scenery, considering QB Tom Brady will likely play up to five more seasons. Depending on where he lands, Garoppolo could be an interesting QB2 or QB3 option.

Huddle Up: Shanahan is expected to be named head coach of the San Francisco 49ers following Super Bowl 51, and his high regard for Garoppolo could make the 49ers a major player for the quarterback this offseason.

Huddle Up: The asking price for Garoppolo is expected to be at least a first-round pick, although the Patriots have plenty of reason to keep him around with Tom Brady turning 40 next season. The interesting part here is that acquiring Garoppolo wouldn't be impossible for the Texans, who are projected to have $25.5 million in salary cap space despite owing Brock Osweiler $16 million guaranteed for 2017. With that said, it seems much more likely Houston will give Osweiler another chance to prove himself this season.

Huddle Up: There has been some speculation the price the Minnesota Vikings paid for Sam Bradford this summer - a first and a fourth - would be the 'starting point' for negotiations for Garoppolo, but it is highly unlikely another team would pay that price given how relatively unproven Garoppolo is and given the fact they won't be in the desperate position Vikings were following Teddy Bridgewater's knee injury. Garoppolo is also set to become a free agent in 2018, further reducing the likelihood he'll draw a massive draft haul.

Huddle Up: Garoppolo likely will be a trade target for multiple teams this offseason, so owners will need to monitor the situation. He threw for 502 yards and four touchdowns in his limited playing time this season and likely will be a starting quarterback in 2017. He probably should be considered a No. 2 fantasy quarterback next season no matter where he plays.
