Huddle Up: The key words above, of course, are the first two with McFadden having missed nearly the equivalent of 2 full seasons (29 combined games) over his first 6 years in Oaktown. In other words, MJD should see plenty or work even though he's longer a clear-cut No. 1 as he was in J'ville.

Huddle Up: After it appeared that McFadden was headed elsewhere, he'll remain in Oakland for a 7th season on an incentive-stacked deal. But unless his durability improves, that does little to change his fantasy outlook as an injury-prone, underachieving back.

Huddle Up: It's looking like McFadden's health will be some other team's concern after an injury-filled 6-year run in Oakland.
Posted: 1/14/2014 7:20pm ET
Huddle Up: After a 6-year run with the Raiders filled with injuries (29 missed games) and unrealized expectations (only 1 1,000-yard rushing season), McFadden's days in Silver & Black appear to be over. If so, you can count on some team signing McFadden to a low-risk deal, and one immediate guess is Cincinnati, where former Raiders coach and McFadden supporter Hue Jackson has been promoted to offensive coordinator.

Huddle Up: It totally figures that after McFadden already waylaid your initial fantasy plans but still led you to discover productive backup Rashad Jennings, he's now coming back just in time to take a piece out of Jennings' playoff value.
Posted: 12/16/2013 6:08pm ET
Huddle Up: The last time McFadden came back from injury, Jennings still got the bulk of the work. Keep an eye on the situation, though, especially if you are relying on Jennings.

Huddle Up: The Raiders could have saved time and put McFadden on IR in training camp. McFadden is out for Week 15 and likely the season.
Posted: 12/4/2013 7:21pm ET
Huddle Up: It's a credit to McFadden that he doesn't get hurt blowing his nose. If you're starting McFadden during fantasy playoffs, you must be taking a dive. Rashad Jennings will be locked in as a RB2 against a tough Jets' defense assuming he passes his concussion tests.
Posted: 12/4/2013 5:07pm ET
Huddle Up: Filed unde: duh. McFadden has never lived up to his potential, and he is just an injury waiting to happen.
Posted: 11/28/2013 1:44pm ET
Huddle Up: McFadden will play for the first time since Week 9, and that will muddle the fantasy prospects for starter Rashad Jennings, who has been a revelation in McFadden's absence.
Posted: 11/27/2013 5:49pm ET
Huddle Up: This sounds like a bit of a nightmare. If you start McFadden, pray that he gets it going early. Otherwise, Jennings might steal the show and run with it.
Posted: 11/27/2013 3:23pm ET
Huddle Up: He has a great matchup, but it's certainly a risk to put him in your lineup if he does play.
Posted: 11/26/2013 8:40pm ET
Huddle Up: McFadden is expected to play Thursday for the first time in a month and share the workload with Rashad Jennings, which, of course, isn't welcome news for Jennings' fantasy owners who have ridden the RB's 4 straight 100-yard-plus games.
Posted: 11/26/2013 10:20am ET
Huddle Up: The good news is, you should know of McFadden's availability in plenty of time to set your lineup accordingly this week... though you might have to push away from the pecan pie to do so. Even if McFadden does play the Raiders have already indicated it will be a job-share with Rashad Jennings.
Posted: 11/25/2013 8:43pm ET
Huddle Up: It's going to be tough for McFadden to get ready given the Raiders' short turnaround this week. In the meantime, backup Rashad Jennings has been more than adequate, rolling up 100 or more total yards in each of the last 4 games.
Posted: 11/22/2013 6:15pm ET
Huddle Up: The perennially disappointing McFadden will miss his third straight game and fourth of the season, keeping Rashad Jennings ranked high on the RB charts.
Posted: 11/20/2013 4:29pm ET
Huddle Up: The same as it ever was.
Posted: 11/18/2013 5:59pm ET
Huddle Up: The song remains the same for Darren McFadden. Keep an eye on him this week to see whether or not you should bench Rashad Jennings.
Posted: 11/18/2013 11:50am ET
Huddle Up: Jennings has looked good in McFadden's stead, and since Allen has come to the shocking conclusion that McFadden can't stay healthy he'll work both backs into the mix. That's unfortunate news for fantasy owners, as the only value either back really has is as the primary ball-carrier with 20-plus touches; if they're splitting the workload, it saps the fantasy value of both.
Posted: 11/15/2013 9:03pm ET
Huddle Up: Rashad Jennings will get another start in place of the injured McFadden. He's a RB2/flex option this week against Houston.
Posted: 11/14/2013 4:48pm ET
Huddle Up: That's 2 straight days of missed workouts for McFadden, meaning it's likely going to be Rashad Jennings' show again this week in Houston. Jennings has done well for himself and his fantasy owners so far with a combined 283 total yards and a TD in the last 2 games.
Posted: 11/8/2013 4:48pm ET
Huddle Up: To no one's surprise, McFadden will miss his second game of the season, leaving Rashad Jennings to shoulder most of the load vs. the Giants. Jennings had 176 total yards and a TD last week.
Posted: 11/7/2013 6:48pm ET
Huddle Up: To no one's surprise, McFadden has missed both of the Raiders' practices this week, and nopefully if you own the oft-injured back, you have Rashad Jennings to plug in and play Sunday.
Posted: 11/4/2013 10:49am ET
Huddle Up: Welcome to the party, Dennis; fantasy owners have been "concerned McFadden cannot stay healthy" for quite some time. Rashad Jennings filled in admirably against a bad Philly defense, and he'd be both the fantasy and Raiders' replacement if as expected McFadden is out for any length of time.
Posted: 10/23/2013 9:33pm ET
Huddle Up: It's news any time McFadden isn't on the injury report. Despite not having a lot of success on the ground, McFadden is seeing enough touches in the passing game to still make him a RB2 in most leagues.
Posted: 10/12/2013 12:26am ET
Huddle Up: For those caught up in the weekly McFadden Watch, it looks like another game-time decision for the RB, who sat out Week 5's win over the Chargers. Asked by the San Jose Mercury-News on Friday if he had run in practice with the burst he would in a game, McFadden said: "If I haven't done it I feel like I've gotten pretty close to it. I'm just looking forward to whatever decisions the coaches and trainers make."
Posted: 10/10/2013 8:40pm ET
Huddle Up: McFadden sat out the team's Week 5 late-Sunday night contest, and we'd be shocked if he plays this weekend. That keeps the RB right on track as far his his scheduled annual quarter-season of absences goes.
Posted: 10/10/2013 11:53am ET
Huddle Up: This is a positive development for McFadden's fantasy owners, as the initial prognosis was that he could be out for a while. His presence on the practice field suggests he could be back as early as this week; at minimum we'll need to monitor the practice reports and pregame deactivations, which is more than we were expecting from the oft-injured McFadden this week.
Posted: 10/4/2013 6:15pm ET
Huddle Up: This headline should come as no surprise to fantasy owners. Any injury McFadden gets could have him out for several weeks. Plan to move forward without him for a while. If McFadden returns by Thanksgiving, consider it a win.
Posted: 9/30/2013 12:35pm ET
Huddle Up: Given his history, be prepared to have McFadden out of your lineups this week. But keep an eye on his situation throughout the week.
Posted: 9/29/2013 7:08pm ET
Huddle Up: If you had Week 4 in the Darren McFadden injury pool, congratulations. Hopefully it's nothing serious, but we've seen this movie before.
Posted: 9/24/2013 12:45am ET
Huddle Up: McFadden had his least-productive rushing game in a contest in which he logged double-digit carries, but still found a way to produce for his fantasy owners. Chalk it up as a stroke of good fantasy fortune and hope the Silver & Black's banged-up offensive front can pave the way for better yardage days ahead.
Posted: 9/3/2013 5:05pm ET
Huddle Up: The big news here is that McFadden didn't injure himself somehow during practice.
Posted: 8/27/2013 12:28am ET
Huddle Up: It's been an uninspiring preseason for Run-DMC, who combined for 22 yards rushing on 8 carries over the first 2 preseason contests and then sat out the team's third contest this past weekend. McFadden currently is the 19th RB coming off the board in leagues tracked by myfantasyleague.com.
Posted: 8/23/2013 11:51pm ET
Huddle Up: The extent of the injury isn't known but any time McFadden is hurt it's a concern. More will come out about his shoulder in the next day or two but McFadden being banged up shouldn't be a newsflash to fantasy owners.
