Jim Flynn, of PewterReport.com, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers CB Aqib Talib was arrested Thursday, Aug. 20, and charged with simple battery and resisting arrest without violence, both of which are misdemeanors. He was able to post a $300 bond.
The Huddle Take: Talib came to the Buccaneers with a reputation as a big-time playmaker in the secondary—and character concerns. His four picks last year speaks to the former, while this recent off-field transgression certainly speaks to the latter. If the charges stick you can expect Talib to miss a game or two courtesy of Roger Goodell, and even if they don't Talib will likely be called into Goodell's office for a reminder of what a privilege it is to play in the NFL.
