RB Felix Jones started and led the Pittsburgh Steelers in rushing Monday, Sept. 16, gaining 37 yards on 10 carries in a 20-10 loss to the host Cincinnati Bengals.

Huddle Up: Jones got the start after No. 1 back Isaac Redman was dinged on the opening kickoff. Redman did return after passing a concussion test, but finished with only 4 yards on 3 carries. The Black & Gold finished with 44 total yards on 16 carries and now have 76 yards on 31 rushes in 2 games this season. We'll see what rookie Le'Veon Bell can do when he returns from his foot injury, but in the meantime you want no part of the Pittsburgh ground game.

Pittsburgh Steelers RBs Felix Jones and LaRod Stephens-Howling likely will receive playing time Week 1 even though RB Isaac Redman will start he game. Stephens-Howling is expected to be the third-down back while Jones likely will receive time when Redman needs a break.

Huddle Up: The Steelers' backfield situation is in flux until Le'Veon Bell returns. While none of Pittsburgh's trio are compelling options in Week 1, Redman has the most fantasy value because he should at least get the goal line carries. Try and leave all of these guys on the bench this week unless you're desperate for a running back.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Felix Jones is expected to start Week 1. He likely vaulted ahead of RBs Isaac Redman and LaRod Stephens-Howling with 14 carries for 56 yards in the final preseason game.

Huddle Up: Jones' showing made Jonathan Dwyer expendable. Perhaps he can stay healthy long enough to give the Steelers a competent ground game until Le'Veon Bell returns from his foot injury.

The Pittsburgh Steelers acquired RB Felix Jones from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for LB Adrian Robinson.

Huddle Up: Two things: Doesn't appear Jones was going to work his way into meaningful playing time on Chip Kelly's squad, and the Steelers don't want to settle for a repeat of the Isaac Redman - Jonathan Dwyer rotation while Le'Veon Bell heals. Jones has put up just 45 yards on 12 carries through two pre-season games and isn't a starting threat. But his presence does create more confusion for fantasy owners looking for some RB production from the Pittsburgh backfield. Bottom line is less playing time for any or all of Redman, Dwyer or Stephens-Howling. This is a mess that should be avoided until the late rounds on draft day.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Felix Jones (ribs) injured his ribs during the team's preseason game Thursday, Aug. 15, and is scheduled to undergo X-rays.

Huddle Up: This. Guy. Just. Isn't. Built. For. Tackle. Football.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Felix Jones (hamstring) left practice Tuesday, Aug. 6, due to a hamstring injury. The severity is not yet known.

Huddle Up: Preseason hammy issues are commonplace, but then again, so are injury issues as a whole with Jones, who did not start more than 8 games in any of his 5 seasons in Dallas. It's certainly not the news he was hoping for as he tries to make an impression on his new team.
