The Philadelphia Eagles signed free-agent RB Felix Jones (Cowboys) to a one-year deal.
Huddle Up: Jones, a 2008 first-round pick of the Cowboys who fell out of favor in Dallas due to injuries and inconsistent play, joins a Philly backfield headed by LeSean McCoy and 2012 rookie flash Bryce Brown. Jones' total yards from scrimmage fell from a career-high 1,250 in 2010 to 668 this past season and it's hard to envision Jones even matching his 2012 total barring an injury to McCoy.

The Philadelphia Eagles worked out free-agent RB Felix Jones (Cowboys) Tuesday, May 7.
Huddle Up: Jones logged 668 yards from scrimmage in 2012 -- the fewest since his rookie year of 2008 -- and he's now searching for a new home after 5 seasons in Big D. Even if he does catch on somewhere and makes a regular-season roster, he figures to be starting from square one at the bottom of the depth chart.
Posted: 4/9/2013 12:53am et
The Cincinnati Bengals recently tried out free-agent RB Felix Jones.
Huddle Up: Jones to Cincy actually makes a ton of sense, as he'd provide a quicker change-of-pace back to BenJarvus Green-Ellis without having to hold up to a full-time feature-back workload. Just how much fantasy value such a role might provide, however, remains to be seen.
Posted: 2/14/2013 3:03pm et
Dallas Cowboys impending free agent RB Felix Jones could return to Dallas on a 1-year contract, according to Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com. Watkins points out that it is unlikely Jones will get a big contract in free agency, and that Jones could be a dependable backup to DeMarco Murray.
Huddle Up: Jones did hit a career high with 5 TDs this past season, but his total yards have gone down in each of the past 3 seasons and he just hasn't displayed the game-to-game durability or productiveness that would warrant a big-bucks FA deal.
Posted: 1/2/2013 2:25pm et
Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones, who will become a free agent in the offseason, will not return with the team in 2013.
Huddle Up: DeMarco Murray will get all the work when he's healthy, and the Cowboys have enough other serviceable backup options that they don't have to overpay for the oft-injured Jones to serve as his caddy. There's bound to be a RB-needy team who falls in love with Jones' when-healthy potential this offseason, but fantasy owners know by now not to fall for that ruse.
Posted: 12/1/2012 7:10pm et
Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones (knees) averaged only 38.3 yards per game in the absence of starting RB DeMarco Murray (foot). Murray is expected to play in Week 13.
Huddle Up: Jones, who has been hampered by injuries of his own, is coming off is worst game since Week 5 with only 14 yards on 6 carries. He still should see some playing time, though, as the Cowboys don't figure to heap a full workload on Murray following a 6-game absence.
Posted: 11/28/2012 1:03pm et
Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones (knee) is not taking part in practice Wednesday, Nov. 28.
Huddle Up: This has been a theme for Jones the past several weeks, but he played last week despite missing the entire shortened week of practice. The bigger issue is DeMarco Murray's improving health.
Posted: 11/22/2012 4:04pm et
RB Felix Jones is active for the Dallas Cowboys' Week 12 game Thursday. Meanwhile, the team declared RB DeMarco Murray, DL Jay Ratliff, WR Kevin Ogletree, C Phil Costa, OG Ryan Cook, DL Sean Lissemore, CB Vincent Agnew inactive.
Huddle Up: Jones cleared the big first hurdle for his fantasy owners, and now it's just a matter of how the carry split breaks down between him and fellow RBs Phillip Tanner and Lance Dunbar.
Posted: 11/22/2012 1:38pm et
The status of Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones (knees) for Week 12 will not be determined after he arrives at the stadium; however, it appears as if he will start in the game.
Huddle Up: Good game-day sign for Jones' fantasy owners after the RB has missed practice most of the week. Check back, though, closer to kickoff before you insert Jones into your starting lineup.
Posted: 11/21/2012 1:28pm et
Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones (knees) was not taking part in practice Wednesday, Nov. 21.
Huddle Up: This does not bode well for his availability tomorrow. That would leave Phillip Tanner and Lance Dunbar as the Cowboys running backs; while Dunbar has shown some flashes, this is not good for the Cowboys offense or your fantasy team.
Posted: 11/21/2012 11:26am et
Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones remains uncertain for Week 12; however, head coach Jason Garrett believes the running back is showing improvement. "It sounds like it's feeling better and better and better and we'll just see what his availability is over the course of the next couple of days," Garrett said of Jones. Lance Dunbar and Phillip Tanner figure to get the brunt of the carries in Week 12 against the Washington Redskins Thursday, Nov. 22, if Jones and RB DeMarco Murray cannot go. Dunbar said he would welcome more touches, if given the opportunity. "I'm ready for it," Dunbar said. "I know the offense. I know my assignments. Anything I can do to help the team, I will."
Huddle Up: It's a Thursday game, so the good news is you'll know early on which Cowboys back you'll want in your fantasy lineup. The bad news, of course, is that you'll have to have someone else mashing the potatoes and stuffing the turkey while you tweak your lineup.
Posted: 11/20/2012 5:44pm et
Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones (knee) did not participate in practice
Tuesday, Nov. 20.
Huddle Up: This is more worrisome than DeMarco Murray missing practice because
we do not expect Murray to play. Without Jones the Cowboys would be
down to Philip Tanner and Lance Dunbar at running back, a bad scene
in that backfield. Neither would be good fantasy options.
Posted: 11/17/2012 12:18pm et
Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones is coming off his best effort of the season in Week 10 with 71 rushing yards and a receiving touchdown. Jones said he is finally healthy after dealing with multiple ailments. 'I feel good,' Jones said. 'Everything feels healthy. It's probably the best I've felt all year, and I just want to continue with it. I'm just excited to be out here playing football.'
Huddle Up: With DeMarco Murray doubtful for Sunday's game, look for Jones to get another start and have a solid outing against a Cleveland defense that struggles to stop the run.
Posted: 11/8/2012 2:33pm et
Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones will start in Week 10 in place of RB DeMarco Murray (foot). Murray took part in individual drills in practice Thursday, Nov. 8; however, the team will make sure Murray is completely healthy before returning. 'No question, he's starting to get better,' executive vice president Stephen Jones said. 'He's got to be 100 percent before we put him out there.'
Huddle Up: Jones -- or any of the other Cowboys' reserve RBs -- hasn't done much since Murray last played in Week 6, rushing for 102 yards and a TD on 37 carries over the past 3 games.
Posted: 11/7/2012 5:48pm et
Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones (knee) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Nov. 7.
Huddle Up: He has been dinged up in recent weeks, so it's good that he is practicing during the week. DeMarco Murray will likely miss another week, so Jones retains some fantasy value despite being relatively unproductive in Murray's absence.
Posted: 11/5/2012 11:33am et
Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones started in the team's Week 9 game, while RB Lance Dunbar received a majority of the snaps as the backup instead of RB Phillip Tanner. The Cowboys rushed for 65 yards on 18 carries. Jones had 39 yards on nine carries and Dunbar, on eight carries, picked up 26 yards.
Huddle Up: Jones was moderately effective later in the game, so perhaps if DeMarco Murray remains out the Cowboys will continue with the tag-team approach in hopes of keeping Jones fresh for late in the game. However, it's unlikely the Dallas ground game gets going until Murray returns from his injury--and even then it's an iffy proposition at best.
Posted: 11/3/2012 12:41am et
Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones (knee) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 2, and is listed as probable for Week 9.
Huddle Up: Jones will play, but how much you can trust the often-banged up Cowboy is another matter entirely.
Posted: 11/1/2012 1:29pm et
Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones' (knee, neck) health now is an area of
concern as the team prepares for its Week 9 game. In addition to a
bruised knee suffered in a game Oct. 21, Jones also suffered a nerve
irritation in his neck in the first series of that game. Jones
carried the ball 13 times for only 19 yards in Week 8. He was on the
practice field Thursday, Nov. 1, with his knee taped up. 'We'll see
what his health is going into this game,' head coach Jason Garrett
said. 'Certainly those other guys have to be ready to play.' RBs
Phillip Tanner and Lance Dunbar are the only two healthy backs
currently on the roster.
Huddle Up: And now this from the non-newsworthy headline department ... Jones
never has demonstrated the ability to be a feature back, and that's
why he was so easily replaced by DeMarco Murray last season. As long
as Murray is out, Jones has value as a deep-league fill-in but
that's about his extent.
Posted: 10/27/2012 4:31pm et
Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones (knee) will start in Week 8 in place of RB DeMarco Murray (foot). RB Phillip Tanner will also see action, and theres a good chance the team finds a role for RB Lance Dunbar in the game as well.
Huddle Up: This was expected though Jones is battling through his own injury issues.
Posted: 10/26/2012 4:17pm et
Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones (knee) was limited in practice Friday, Oct. 26, and is questionable for Week 8.
Huddle Up: Jones should be a go this weekend, but he has been limited all week by the injury. The Cowboys might be forced to go with a RBBC approach with Jones and Phillip Tanner this week if Felix's injury hampers him on Sunday. It is looking like neither is a particularly good fantasy start at this point.
Posted: 10/25/2012 2:43pm et
Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones (knee) returned to practice Thursday, Oct. 25, wearing a brace on his bruised left knee.
Huddle Up: Phillip Tanner is looking like he may be the better option this week, stay tuned for futher word out of Dallas.
Posted: 10/24/2012 2:52pm et
Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones (knee) is not participating in practice Wednesday, Oct. 24.
Huddle Up: Cause for concern? Demarco Murray is likely out this week again, which would leave the Cowboys with Phillip Tanner as their main back if Jones is out or limited. Keep an eye on Jones through the rest of the week.
Posted: 10/23/2012 11:37pm et
Dallas Cowboys RB Phillip Tanner played 35 of the team's 68 offensive snaps in Week 7 against the Carolina Panthers, two more snaps than RB Felix Jones (knee).
Huddle Up: The snap count aside, Jones (74 yards on 20 touches) was more productive than Tanner (38 on 14), although neither got into the end zone. One -- or both backs -- will need to be more of a factor Sunday when the Cowboys step up in class against the Giants.
Posted: 10/22/2012 12:17pm et
Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones is uncertain for the team's Week 8 game after suffering a bruised knee in Week 7. The Cowboys are hopeful, however, that RB DeMarco Murray can return this week. Phillip Tanner served as the offense's closer in Week 7 at running back. With Jones injured, the Cowboys handed the ball to Tanner on five of their final six snaps of the game. Tanner finished with a career-high 13 carries and 30 yards, and he also caught one pass for eight yards.
Huddle Up: Their respective injury-riddled track records suggest fantasy owners shouldn't bank on either Jones or Murray being available, with Tanner the obvious fill-in candidate.
Posted: 10/22/2012 12:13pm et
Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones was on the sideline for most of the team's final two drives in Week 7 because of a bruised knee. Jones also suffered a neck strain earlier in the game.
Huddle Up: Stunning--stunning!--that Jones got banged up. He's been unable to stay healthy throughout his NFL career, so it should come as no surprise that he couldn't make it through his first extended action this year. Phillip Tanner saw carries late and would be in line for the bulk of the touches should Jones join DeMarco Murray on the sidelines.
Posted: 10/21/2012 10:21pm et
With starter DeMarco Murray out with a foot injury, Dallas Cowboys RBs Felix Jones and Phillip Tanner split the carries in Week 7 against the Carolina Panthers. Jones carried 15 times for a team-high 44 yards, while Tanner ran for 30 yards on 13 totes. Jones was also good for five receptions and 30 yards, while Tanner added an eight-yard reception.
Huddle Up: Jones and Tanner weren't the deciding factors in many fantasy matchups, but they gave the Cowboys just enough balance in a 19-14 win over the Panthers. Murray could return in Week 8, but will need to show something this week in practice.
Posted: 10/18/2012 11:29am et
Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones said he is ready for an expanded role as he replaces an injured RB DeMarco Murray in Week 7. "I want to help out the team any way possible," Jones said. "If that's carrying the load, I'm going to do it." Jones will try to prove to the coaching staff that he is capable of handling a feature role. "That's all I've got to do is just keep showing them every day that I'm getting better and that I want it and that I want to be out there with them. That's my job," Jones said.
Huddle Up: Jones has struggled when handed the keys to the Dallas ground game before, but with Murray sidelined with a foot injury he'll get first shot at the bulk of the carries. And if Murray's "foot sprain", like so many other running back's "foot sprains", turns out to be something more series like plantar fasciitis or a Lisfranc sprain, Jones could see an extended run as the Cowboys' workhorse. Phillip Turner and Lance Dunbar lurk should Jones fail to deliver.
Posted: 10/15/2012 6:57pm et
Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray (foot) is unlikely to play in Week 7 against the Carolina Panthers after suffering ligament damage in his left foot in Week 6. Murray will likely be on a week-to-week status, according to sources. An MRI exam showed no broken bones, though. Murray was not in a walking boot after the game. RB Felix Jones will likely see the majority of the workload if Murray misses any time, but RBs Phillip Tanner and Lance Dunbar could also be mixed in.
Huddle Up: RB hungry fantasy teams will no doubt be gnashing their teeth for Jones services if Murray does indeed sit.

Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray was the team's only tailback used in the running game in Week 1. Murray had 20 carries in the game as RB Felix Jones mostly watched from the sidelines.
Huddle Up: For only the second time in his pro career, Jones played in a game without logging a rush attempt or pass reception. This won't be the case every game going forward, but make no doubt, Murray is the man in Big D, and it's going to take him getting injured for Jones to reclaim any fantasy value.
