The Associated Press reports Pittsburgh Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall had 22 carries for 155 yards Week 9.

The Huddle Take: Mendenhall had a couple of problems with footing late in the fourth quarter as the Steelers were near the goalline and trying to ice the game, and nearly fumbled once. But he had such a dominating performance otherwise he shouldn't suffer any ramifications from HC Mike Tomlin, and should carry a similar kind of workload this week against the Bengals. Mendenhall missed the Steelers' previous game against Cincinnati this season.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall (knee) participated in practice Friday, Oct. 23. He is listed as probable for Week 7 and will start the game.

The Huddle Take: Mendenhall will play, but he has a very tough matchup against the Minnesota run defense, which, granted, was torched by Ray Rice in the second half last week, but gave up only its first and second rushing TDs of the season.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports Pittsburgh Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall (knee) could be limited during practice this week because of a bruised knee but is expected to play in Week 7.

The Huddle Take: Mendenhall should be good to go, but he's got a tough matchup against the Minnesota run defense.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall (illness) participated in practice Friday, Oct. 16. He is not on the injury report for Week 6 and will play.

The Huddle Take: Mendenhall has been suffering with the flu, but it looks like he'll be able to play against Cleveland. Willie Parker is also expected to play, however, Mendenhall should still get plenty of opportunities against a very bad Browns' run defense.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall received only six touches in the second half of Week 5 due to the team passing so much. Mendenhall still amassed 77 yards on 15 carries with one touchdown in the game.

The Huddle Take: Mendenhall did enough in the first half to help Fantasy teams. If Willie Parker still can't go in Week 6, Mendenhall should be able to do even more at home against the woeful Cleveland run defense.

The Associated Press reports Pittsburgh Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall had 29 carries for 165 yards with two touchdowns Week 4. He also caught two passes for 26 receiving yards.

The Huddle Take: Mendenhall made the most of Willie Parker's absence, not to mention a soft San Diego defense and some of the best run blocking the Steelers' much-maligned offensive line has put together in a long time. Pittsburgh faces the Lions and Browns over the next fortnight, and if Parker remains sidelined Mendenhall would be in line to put up more outstanding numbers.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said RB Rashard Mendenhall is not on Tomlin's doghouse after his subpar performance during practice last week. Tomlin said he made his point to Mendenhall and is ready to move on.

The Huddle Take: If Mendenhall is in Tomlin's doghouse, the coach may want to let him out pretty quickly. He may need the second-year RB if Willie Parker's toe keeps him out of action against the Chargers.

NFL.com reports Pittsburgh Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall carried the ball 16 times for 48 yards and a touchdown Saturday, Aug. 29. He did not show any hesitation hitting holes.

The Huddle Take: Mendenhall, who missed most of last season with an injury appears to be back at full strength and getting more playing time with Willie Parker currently nursing a hamstring injury. Mendenhall was a highly regarded sleeper last season and he could be in line to fill that role once again this year for fantasy owners. Keep your eye on him in the preseason to see how he progresses.

Ray Fittipaldo, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall will likely start the team's preseason game Saturday, Aug. 29, because RB Willie Parker has not practiced all week. Mendenhall will have the chance to see extended playing time in the game.

The Huddle Take: The Steelers' starting job isn't necessarily up for grabs, but the plan is already to give Mendenhall a share of the workload. With a strong performance in this start, Mendenhall could increase that share to the point where he becomes a more viable fantasy commodity than Parker.

Ed Bouchette, of The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports Pittsburgh Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall has a long way to go to show he deserves the team's short-yardage role in the running game. He notes that RB Willie Parker should not be ruled out for that role during the upcoming season.

The Huddle Take: Parker isn't exactly built for the role, and Pittsburgh's offensive line doesn't offer much help. One deep sleeper to keep an eye on: rookie bowling ball Frank "The Tank" Summers.
