Fantasy Outlook
Avery is expected to return as the starting flanker for the
Rams but his first two years were both around 600 yards and
four scores in each. Avery does enter his third season but a
breakout is unlikely if only because the rookie Bradshaw is
likely to be the starting quarterback learning the ropes as he
goes. Avery has added weight and bulked up to nearly 200
pounds to help with his durability. He remains more about
future potential than what will happen this year.
08-27-10 Update — Avery suffered what appeared to be a severe knee injury and
barring unexpected good news should not be drafted.

St. Louis Rams WR Donnie Avery (knee) suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament and will miss the entire 2010 season, reports Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Huddle Up: The news is not good for Donnie Avery who will likely miss the 2010 season. Laurent Robinson, Mardy Gilyard and Brandon Gibson will get a chance to compete for the starting wideout duties in St. Louis but fantasy owners should take a wait and see approach until someone steps up in the preseason.

Updating previous reports, St. Louis Rams WR Donnie Avery suffered what is believed to be a significant knee injury, according to head coach Steve Spagnuolo, reports Jim Thomas, of The St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Spagnuolo said the team will have a better idea of Avery's status after tests are done Sunday, Aug. 29. "Hopefully, it's not as bad as we think," Spagnuolo said.
Huddle Up: Early reports are that Avery will miss the rest of the 2010 season. That's not only a blow to Avery and his limited fantasy value, it's also a hit for Sam Bradford. Laurent Robinson and Danny Amendola would stand to benefit from increased looks.

St. Louis Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo said WR Donnie Avery has had a very good offseason, and the team believes Avery will improve and play like he did in his rookie season.
Huddle Up: Avery wasn't that bad as a sophomore, either, and should be the go-to guy for incoming franchise quarterback Sam Bradford.

St. Louis Rams WR Donnie Avery (shoulder) was limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 10, but he is still getting a lot of work. He is expected to play Week 14, but he might wear a harness.
Huddle Up: Avery has been a pleasant surprise for fantasy owners this season and could only look to be more valuable in future years. With the Rams struggling to find consistency in the passing game, fantasy owners should expect some decent yardage but touchdowns will likely be hard to come by.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports St. Louis Rams WR Donnie Avery (shoulder) underwent an MRI exam Monday, Dec. 7, that showed he has a shoulder injury. He will try to play through the injury for the rest of the season.
Huddle Up: He'll try to play through, but this is bad for fantasy owners on any front. Don't start him the rest of the year unless you have no better option, he'll be too inconsistent and prone to being pulled.

StLouisRams.com reports St. Louis Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo said WR Donnie Avery (ribs, hip) is expected to play in Week 8.
Huddle Up: With a game against the Lions on tap, this would signal the likelihood of a big game if he's able to go. It would also be surprising based on recent reports, thought not outside the realm of possibility. This will likely be a status you'll have to monitor most of the week before knowing whether or not he'll actually see the field.

CBSSports.com reports St. Louis Rams WR Donnie Avery (ribs, shoulder) suffered injuries to his ribs and shoulder Week 7, according to head coach Steve Spagnuolo. The extent of the injuries is not known.
Huddle Up: This could be devastating for a Rams team already decimated with injuries at key positions on the offense. St. Louis at 0-7 continues to slide and any injuries to starting skill position players will only spell more trouble for an already struggling team.

The Belleville News Democrat reports St. Louis Rams WR Donnie Avery (hip) said he wouldn't miss any practice time this week, according to head coach Steve Spagnuolo. Spagnuolo said, "He was talking about, "I'll be out there practicing coach, I'll be out there practicing.""
Huddle Up: Good news for Avery owners. These days there isn't a ton to get excited about in St. Louis, so any bright news is a ray of hope. At the moment there seems to be no need to drop him from your plans.

Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports St. Louis Rams WR Donnie Avery did not return for the team's Week 6 game after suffering a left hip injury. X-rays came back negative. Avery is scheduled to undergo an MRI Monday, Oct. 19.
Huddle Up: Avery scored the Rams' lone offensive touchdown and with Laurent Robinson already out for the year is his team's only downfield threat. To lose him for any length of time would further handcuff an already extremely limited offense.
