Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson signed a four-year, $39 million extension with $14.2 million guaranteed, according to a source.

Huddle Up: The Packers wanted to keep at least some of their receiving corps intact for Aaron Rodgers after losing Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, and James Jones the past few seasons. With Nelson locked in, the Pack can turn their focus to free agent-to-be Randall Cobb.

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson believes he could sign a contract extension with the team soon. Nelson is currently in the final season of a three-year, $12.6 million contact extension he signed in 2011.

Huddle Up: Nelson hit career highs in catches (85) and yards (1,314) last season and there's no reason to think he can't approach those figures again with a healthier Aaron Rodgers under center.

The Green Bay Packers are working on a contract extension with WR Jordy Nelson, but there is no timetable to get a deal done at this point.

Huddle Up: With Aaron Rodgers locked up for the foreseeable future, it makes sense for Green Bay to keep his receiving corps stacked as well. Both Nelson and Randall Cobb are in line for extensions, giving the Packers' front office something to do this offseason.

The Green Bay Packers view an extension with WR Jordy Nelson as a priority over one for WR Randall Cobb, according to a person with knowledge of the team's plans. Nelson has a year and $2.5 million left on his deal. Cobb has expressed that he'd like to remain in Green Bay.

Huddle Up: Nelson has led the Pack in receptions, yards and TD catches in 2 of the last 3 years with Cobb setting the pace in 2012, and that may be the deciding factor for the team, which may lose wideout James Jones in free agency this season.

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson said he would be surprised if Cleveland Browns CB Joe Haden does not shadow him during the team's Week 7 game. Nelson said he does not believe he will be double covered during the game.

Huddle Up: With Randall Cobb out and James Jones likely to miss Sunday's game as well, Haden will shadow Nelson while the rest of the Browns' defense tries to take away Aaron Rodgers' other options. Still, expect Nelson to be targeted heavily against Cleveland even with one of the NFL's top corners covering him.

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (knee) returned to practice Monday, Sept. 2, and a league source said Tuesday, Sept. 3, that Nelson will be available for the Week 1 game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Huddle Up: Nelson, who missed all of the preseason, is trying to rebound after missing 4 games and seeing his stats drop across the board a season ago. If he's close to 100 percent, he makes Aaron Rodgers, one of fantasy's top QBs, that much more potent.

Posted: 8/21/2013 2:37pm et

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said WR Jordy Nelson (knee) is getting close to returning from his knee surgery.

Huddle Up: That was fast. It looks like Nelson is on track to play in Week 1. If cleaning up his knee has freed him from the nagging injury issues, he is going to be a tremendous value.

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson shed some doubt in recent comments about being available for Week 1. "Our main goal is San Fran," Nelson said. "And that's just a goal. You never know what could happen. We'll just continue to go day by day."

Huddle Up: Every day Nelson sits his fantasy value takes a hit in a powerful yet crowded offense. And as Nelson's value slips, that of healthy Packer pass-catchers like Jermichael Finley and James Jones creep upwards.

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (knee) has been able to start running as part of his rehab from minor knee surgery and is on schedule according to doctors. He said he wants to be ready for the start of the regular season.

Huddle Up: Sounds good as there's a little less than 3 weeks remaining until the opener. Keep abreast, though, for further progress reports.

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (knee) underwent surgery on his knee Monday, Aug. 5, that is expected to keep him out for four to six weeks, but doctors still expect him to be ready for Week 1. Doctors tried to fix a nerve issue in his knee that has bothered him since college.

Huddle Up: The injury woes continue for Nelson. If this was an issue he's had since college, it's a bit odd they tried to fix it in the middle of training camp instead of, say, two months ago. They will try to have Nelson back by Week 1 but he could have a slow start as a result of this. Randall Cobb and James Jones get bumps in value.
