Arizona Cardinals TE John Carlson will make $4.65 million as part of his two-year deal, according to a source.

Huddle Up: Bruce Arians is on record as saying his tight ends need to be blockers first, so Carlson's fantasy value--even with his move from Vikings backup to Cardinals starter--remains minimal.

The Green Bay Packers have expressed interest in impending free-agent TE John Carlson (Vikings).

Huddle Up: Carlson, whose best pro season has been his rookie campaign in Seattle (55-627-5), would immediately soar back onto the fantasy radar if he joins Aaron Rodgers' core of targets.

The Minnesota Vikings are planning to release TE John Carlson.

Huddle Up: Carlson had 32 receptions for 344 yards and a TD this past season while starting 8 games in place of the injured Kyle Rudolph, but he's never quite lived up to his strong rookie campaign (55-627-5) 6 years ago in Seattle.

The Minnesota Vikings could consider releasing TE John Carlson if he is not able to find a role on offense this season. The base salaries in the last three years of Carlson's deal are not guaranteed. Carlson could earn a bigger role in the offense if he is able to stay healthy during the season.

Huddle Up: Carlson broke in with 55 catches for 627 yards and 5 TDs as a rookie in 2008, but it's been all downhill since. He missed the entire 2011 season in Seattle with a shoulder injury, and knee and concussion issues limited him to 8 catches for 43 yards this past year in Minnesota. Kyle Rudolph remains the only Vikings TE worth considering in fantasy leagues.
