The Minnesota Vikings could consider releasing TE John Carlson if he is not able to find a role on offense this season. The base salaries in the last three years of Carlson's deal are not guaranteed. Carlson could earn a bigger role in the offense if he is able to stay healthy during the season.
Huddle Up: Carlson broke in with 55 catches for 627 yards and 5 TDs as a rookie in 2008, but it's been all downhill since. He missed the entire 2011 season in Seattle with a shoulder injury, and knee and concussion issues limited him to 8 catches for 43 yards this past year in Minnesota. Kyle Rudolph remains the only Vikings TE worth considering in fantasy leagues.
