The Buffalo News reports Buffalo Bills WR James Hardy (knee) is still targeting to play in the final preseason game even though he has not participated in practice yet during training camp. He is waiting to see if his knee responds to the final stages of his rehab.

The Huddle Take: Hardy's been the forgotten man with the arrival of Terrell Owens, and is currently languishing behind Owens, Lee Evans and Josh Reed on the wide receiver depth chart. If he can't play until the final preseason game, he'll be even more of an afterthought.

The Buffalo News reports Bills WR James Hardy believes he will be able to play in the team's final preseason game if his rehab goes well.

The Huddle Take: There's no reason for Hardy to rush back, as Terrell Owens has taken what would have been his spot in the Buffalo offense. If he can learn a few things from TO on the field and avoid the negative influences off of it, Hardy might be able to turn the situation into a positive.

The Buffalo News, reports Buffalo Bills WR James Hardy (knee) underwent left knee surgery Monday, Jan. 12, to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Hardy will face six to nine months of rehabilitation.

The Huddle Take: The highly touted WR Hardy was a preseason favorite to be a consistent contributor for the Buffalo offense in 2008 but fell short of expectations due to a slow start and untimely injuries. There is a good chance he will also be a solid sleeper candidate in 2009 as Buffalo looks to get back into the chase for a division crown in the highly competitive AFC Eastern division.

The Associated Press reports the Buffalo Bills placed WR James Hardy (knee) on season-ending Injured Reserve. He suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament against the New York Jets.

The Huddle Take: With James Hardy out of the lineup the Bills will likely turn even more to the running game and Fred Jackson in Week 17. Look for Jackson to get an increased amount of carries with RB Marshawn Lynch not 100% to end the season.
