The Associated Press reports Denver Broncos WR Eddie Royal caught 10 passes for 90 yards Week 5.
The Huddle Take: Royal has not had a good start to the 2009 season but this performance is likely to get the receiver going again. The Broncos wideout has been inconsistent and even dropped in some fantasy formats so check your waiver wire to see if anyone has given up on him. He is definitely worthy of stashing on your roster for solid depth that could be inserted in your lineup for upcoming bye weeks.

The Denver Post reports Denver Broncos WR Eddie Royal (groin) appeared to suffer a groin pull during practice Thursday, Oct. 1, which drew the attention of the team's trainer. Royal was seen limping back into a drill as the media-access portion of practice ended.
The Huddle Take: This is not encouraging news for the Bronco wideout as a groin pull is a lingering injury that could cause problems for many weeks. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his status and consider Royal a gametime decision if he cannot practice fully on Friday.

Mike Klis, of The Denver Post, reports Denver Broncos WR Eddie Royal has caught just five receptions for 38 yards through the first two games of the season. Head coach Josh McDaniels said, "Eddie knows what we do with our offense. Some weeks there will be 12 balls thrown at him. Some weeks there might be three. We're not going to try and jam it into one guy when we have 10 players that are worth throwing the ball too."
The Huddle Take: So far we've yet to see the top end of McDaniels' estimation. And if that's the sort of consistency we can expect in regards to Royal's opportunities, his fantasy value will most certainly suffer.

The Colorado Springs Gazette, reports Denver Broncos WR Eddie Royal (undisclosed) has returned to the team's preseason game Sunday, Aug. 30.
The Huddle Take: Royal left with what appeared to be a shoulder injury but returned to action. The injury is not considered very serious at this point.

Bill Williamson reports Denver Broncos WR Eddie Royal could have a similar effect in head coach Josh McDaniels' system this season as New England Patriots WR Wes Welker did while McDaniels served as offensive coordinator with the Patriots.
The Huddle Take: This would be a great thing for PPR league owners, but it is hard to envision this offense even finishing in the top half of the league statistically this season without a lot of things turning around from where they're currently positioned. A lot of Royal's short term future production is wrapped up pretty tightly with what happens to Brandon Marshall, so buyer beware.

Denver Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels said WR Eddie Royal will continue to be the team's punt returner.
The Huddle Take: Good to know Royal will still be put in a position to get his hands on the ball and make something happen. However, given the state of Denver's defense, punting situations for the opposition may be few and far between.

The Denver Post reports Broncos WR Eddie Royal was used on the outside in two-receiver sets and as the slot receiver in three-receiver sets during the team's minicamp.
The Huddle Take: Sounds as if Josh McDaniels is moving the talented second-year pro around and looking for ways to get the ball into his hands. That certainly isn't a bad thing when it comes to Royal's fantasy value.
