Washington Redskins TE Fred Davis said he hopes to be able to participate in the team's mandatory minicamp in June. He said he definitely will be ready for training camp if he does not take part in the minicamp. Davis has been taking part in individual drills as well as running routes and catching passes on a side field during organized team activities.

Huddle Up: Davis is working his way back from an Achilles' tendon injury. The Redskins know what he can do and have no reason to rush him back, but having him back on the field in June would make both Mike Shanahan and Davis' potential fantasy owners feel pretty good about his 2013 prospects.

Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan said TE Fred Davis is about 90 percent recovered from his Achilles' tendon injury and that he expects Davis to sit out until training camp.

Huddle Up: Davis should be able to walk right back into his starting role, and more importantly to his job as Robert Griffin III's security blanket in the passing game. It would be nice to see him on the field before committing a fantasy roster spot to him, but the upside is most definitely there.

The Washington Redskins have re-signed free-agent TE Fred Davis to a one-year deal. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Buffalo Bills offered Davis a two-year deal before he re-signed with the Redskins.

Huddle Up: Davis missed half of last season after suffering an Achilles' tendon injury, but he is expected back on the field by June. By signing the one-year deal he's banking on a full recovery and better numbers that would lead to a bigger contract in 2014.

The Buffalo Bills have made a contract offer to free-agent TE Fred Davis, who also has received an offer from his old team, the Washington Redskins but has cancelled a scheduled visit with the New York Jets. Davis (Achilles' tear) reportedly is 4.5 months into his injury rehab, and is already running on a treadmill. Davis said he will be way ahead of schedule in his return.

Huddle Up: Both teams are in need of TE help, but Davis might find the QB situation more favorable in D.C., even with RGIII coming off a knee injury.

Updating a previous report, free-agent TE Fred Davis (Redskins) has a visit scheduled Wednesday, March 27, with the Buffalo Bills. He reportedly had dinner with team officials Saturday, March 23, according to a league source. The preference by Davis is to remain with the Washington Redskins, but he is open to other options.

Huddle Up: The Jets also are reportedly interested in Davis, who was limited to 24 catches in 7 games due to an Achillies' injury last season.

Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan said Wednesday, March 20, the team is hoping to re-sign free-agent TE Fred Davis and are talking with his agent regularly.

Huddle Up: Most of the big free-agent money has been spent, and with Davis coming off a season-ending injury the team that knows him best and was able to track the early stages of his rehab first-hand may be most willing to take a chance on giving him a bigger contract. Davis was a good fantasy fit for the Washington offense last year, so his return to the Redskins would be good for all involved fantasy-wise as well.

The Cleveland Browns are concerned about free-agent TE Fred Davis' Achilles' tendon injury he suffered during the 2012 season. They have expressed interest in Davis but their level of interest is not known.

Huddle Up: Most of the Browns' free-agent signings -- Paul Kruger, Desmond Bryant, Quentin Groves -- have been focused on the defensive side of the ball, but they could definitely use an upgrade at TE. Davis could still be an option if push comes to shove and another team extends an offer.

Huddle Up: The Skins are tight against the cap, and retaining Davis might be tricky, but some creative financing -- and maybe a bit of a hometown discount on Davis' part -- could get it done.

Washington Redskins TE Fred Davis (Achilles') was cleared to play by Dr. Robert Anderson Tuesday, Feb. 26. Anderson said Davis is healing well and will be back at full strength for organized team activities.

Huddle Up: Davis' injury limited him to 7 games and 24 catches in 2012 -- a tough timing break as he is an unrestricted free agent this offseason. Davis, however, is in his prime at age 27 and has shown he can be productive when healthy (759 receiving yards in 2011; 6 TD catches in 2009).

Huddle Up: Good news for Davis, who needs to get healthy enough to demonstrate to teams--the Redskins or others--that he's worthy of a hefty free-agent contract. And good news for fantasy owners, as a healthy Davis tends to be a productive Davis.

The Washington Redskins do not appear likely to use the franchise tag on any of their impending free agents, including TE Fred Davis. General manager Bruce Allen indicated that a decision on Davis wouldn't be made until the team can get a better feel for his recovery later in the spring. The team, however, would not rule out the possibility of franchising Davis.

Huddle Up: Tough to commit a big chunk of money to a guy coming off an Achilles' injury. However, once Davis hits the open market there may be a team willing to spend on his potential, so it's a bit of a sticky wicket for the Redskins.

Updating a previous report, Washington Redskins TE Fred Davis (Achilles') suffered a torn Achilles' tendon in Week 7 and likely will miss the rest of the season.

Huddle Up: More bad news for the Skins, who already were without top WR Pierre Garcon (foot). Davis came into the game leading the team in receptions (23) and receiving yards (312). With Davis out, reserve TE Logan Paulsen led Washington with 4 catches for 76 yards Sunday in the 27-23 loss to the Giants.

Washington Redskins TE Fred Davis (head) has been cleared to practice after taking a blow to the head in Week 2. He was tested for a possible concussion but has been cleared.

Huddle Up: He has not been putting up the numbers that he did last season, but Davis remains the main tight end in a good offense. He can be had cheaply—he has been dropped in many leagues—and he still has top 10 potential if RGIII can look his way more often.

Washington Redskins TE Fred Davis is the team's starting tight end, according to the team, which on Tuesday waived fellow TE/FB Chris Cooley.

Huddle Up: No surprise here as Cooley has been on the bubble for months. Davis was fantasy's 12th-best TE a year ago (Huddle Performance scoring) and could be even better this season now that he's the unquestioned No. 1 option at his position in D.C.
