Huddle Up: Lost in the excitement over first-round pick Blake Bortles' strong preseason, is that Henne has had a productive one as well, and at this point, Bradley is simply saying that the veteran incumbent has done nothing to lose his job. But will Henne hold on to it all season? The guess here would be no, although much depends on how the Jags are faring as a team.

Huddle Up: Rookie Blake Bortles had a strong performance Friday night but Henne is entrenched as Jacksonville's starter. There's a good chance Bortles starts at some point during the 2014 season, but it won't be in Week 1.

Huddle Up: Of course many onlookers are wondering when third-overall pick Blake Bortles takes over -- that's how it goes with first-round QB draft picks -- but for those looking for backup QBs in deep re-draft leagues right now, Henne is your man.

Huddle Up: Henne is almost certain to begin the year as Jacksonville's starting QB, as the team brings rookie Blake Bortles along slowly. However, Henne is nothing more than a borderline QB2 for fantasy purposes.

Huddle Up: Veterans typically have the support of their teammates, but Bradley also said that third-overall pick Blake Bortles will get first-team reps in training camp so the outlook could shift if the rook shows well early.

Huddle Up: It's a solid plan assuming injuries and fate allow the Jaguars to stick to it. And it's certainly something to keep in mind in redraft leagues, where Henne will have value and Bortles most likely won't.

Huddle Up: Most scouting reports referenced Bortles' need for a year or two of development at the NFL level, and having Henne allows the Jaguars to be patient with their recent acquisition.

Huddle Up: That's good money for a backup, which is what Henne projects to be with the Jaguars holding the third overall selection and their being three quarterbacks considered top-10 picks in this draft class. At least Henne is a capable backup who won't kill the fantasy value of Justin Blackmon and Cecil Shorts if he's forced into action.

Huddle Up: Henne would be a great backup option for the Jaguars, assuming they decide to draft a quarterback. Henne has been more effective than Blaine Gabbert the past two seasons, so bringing him back in that capacity would be a status quo move for the Jaguars--and lately the status quo in Jacksonville hasn't been particularly good.

Huddle Up: Henne is a solid backup quarterback, but on the Jacksonville roster he's too frequently been the best option. Jaguar fans can hope he returns as the backup to a rookie drafted in the first round, but with Blaine Gabbert under contract for one more season that doesn't appear to be the plan.

Huddle Up: No surprise here as Henne will make his 4th straight start and sixth of the season. The Jags, though, still are searching for their first win, and if Henne struggles early in any upcoming game, Jacksonville has nothing to lose by putting in the now-healthy Blaine Gabbert.

Huddle Up: This is an excellent sign for the likes of Cecil Shorts and Justin Blackmon. Henne gives them better chances to score fantasy points.

Huddle Up: This is good news for fantasy owners of Justin Blackmon and Cecil Shorts.

Huddle Up: Henne hasn't been able to lead the Jags to a win, but he's clearly a step or 2 above Gabbert when it comes to dealing with pressure, getting the ball downfield and getting the team's best weapons involved.

Huddle Up: Since the start of last season, Henne has averaged far more passing yards per start (252.5-162) than Gabbert -- not including the 354 yards and 4 TDs he threw for in a relief effort against the Texans last season -- helping WRs Cecil Shorts and Justin Blackmon (when he's not suspended) achieve some fantasy value.
