San Francisco 49ers WR Mario Manningham (knee) is not expected to be ready for training camp. He continues to recover after suffering tears to the anterior cruciate and posterior cruciate ligaments in his left knee in a late-season game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Huddle Up: With Michael Crabtree and newcomer Anquan Boldin and Michael Crabtree the unquestioned starters, Manningham was the favorite to win the No. 3 job, but that will definitely be in question if his knee doesn't cooperate, opening the door for Kyle Williams, A.J. Jenkins and rookie WR Quinton Patton among others.

San Francisco 49ers WR Mario Manningham (knee) believes he will be ready for the start of the regular season in 2013. The team is not expecting Manningham to be ready for the start of training camp. On Thursday, March 14, Manningham agreed to accept a $1.8 million pay cut for next season. His 2013 salary has gone from $3.6 million to $1.8 million.
Huddle Up: A role as the Niners' third receiver appears to be in the cards for Manningham with the team dealing for veteran Anquan Boldin to pair with holdover No. 1 wideout Michael Crabtree,

San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh said WR Mario Manningham (knee) likely will not be ready for the start of training camp.
Huddle Up: Manningham was the team's second-leading pass catcher with 42 grabs in 2012, but this news only adds to the strong probability that the Niners will pursue an outside FA to complement No. 1 wideout Michael Crabtree.

Updating a previous report, San Francisco 49ers WR Mario Manningham (knee) is done for the season due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament and posterior cruciate ligament suffered in the Week 16 game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Huddle Up: The injury looked bad on the field Sunday, and the news was indeed bad Monday. Manningham was the Niners' second-leading receiver (41 catches for 449 yards and a TD) through Week 15 so look for his targets to be spread out among fellow wideouts Michael Crabtree and Randy Moss and TEs Delanie Walker and Vernon Davis (if he plays). This could also open the door for first-round WR pick A.J. Jenkins to see some time in Week 17.

San Francisco 49ers WR Mario Manningham suffered an apparent left-knee injury in the third quarter of the Week 16 game against the Seattle Seahawks. He was hit low after making a catch, and fumbled the ball before immediately grasping at his left knee.
Huddle Up: Manningham was playing after a 2-week absence, but only had the 1 catch (for 0 yards) on which he was injured. There was no immediate prognosis, but if definitely didn't look good.

San Francisco 49ers WR Mario Manningham (shoulder) was listed as a limited participant in practice Friday, Dec. 21, and he is questionable for the Week 16 game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Huddle Up: Manningham, the Niners' second-leading receiver with 41 receptions, hasn't played since Week 13 but would like to suit up for Sunday night's NFC West showdown against the Seahawks.
Posted: 12/15/2012 11:35pm et
The San Francisco 49ers have ruled out WR Mario Manningham (shoulder) for Week 15.
Huddle Up: This means a few more targets for Michael Crabtree and TEs Vernon Davis and Delanie Walker, Also don't forget about Randy Moss, who's hoping to show well against his ex-team.
Posted: 12/14/2012 11:25pm et
San Francisco 49ers WR Mario Manningham (shoulder) did not practice Friday, Dec. 14, and he is listed as doubtful for the Week 15 game against the New England Patriots.

San Francisco 49ers WR Mario Manningham (shoulder) did not practice Friday, Dec. 7, and is doubtful for Week 14.
Huddle Up: It appears the Niners will have to make do without their second-leading receiver (41 catches), and that could mean more work for the likes of Michael Crabtree, Randy Moss and TEs Vernon Davis and Delanie Walker.
Posted: 12/6/2012 10:02pm et
San Francisco 49ers WR Mario Manningham (shoulder) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 6.
Huddle Up: That's 2 missed practices in 2 days for Manningham, who has had 5 catches in each of the Niners' past 2 games. He'll try to give it a go Friday.
Posted: 10/18/2012 7:48pm et
San Francisco 49ers WR Mario Manningham (shoulder) is among the
team's inactives Thursday, Oct. 18 for the Week 7 game against the
Seattle Seahawks. RB Brandon Jacobs (knee) took Manningham's spot on
the active roster for the first time this season. Also LT Joe Staley
(concussion) is active and will start.
Huddle Up: With Manningham out, look for extra targets for WRs Michael
Crabtree, Kyle Williams and Randy Moss and TE Vernon Davis.
Posted: 10/16/2012 11:02pm et
San Francisco 49ers WR Mario Manningham (shoulder) was listed as a
limited participant in practice Tuesday, Oct. 16.
Huddle Up: Manningham has quietly developed into one of the Niners' most
dependable targets, leading the squad in receptions in 2 of the past
3 games and hauling in a TD pass in the other. The receiver's injury
isn't believed to be too serious, but the short week leading up to
the Thursday night game certainly isn't helping matters.
