Frank Schwab, of the Colorado Springs Gazette, reports the Denver Broncos have waived injured RB Ryan Torain.
The Huddle Take: Torain was expected to miss the preseason with a sprained PCL, and the Broncos have a plethora of other backs they need to sort through so they didn't have time to wait for Torain to heal. If he clears waivers, Denver could put him on injured reserve.

Denver Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels said RB Ryan Torain (knee) had some good runs Friday, July 31, and is a physical, big guy. '(He is) the kind of back that we are looking for,' McDaniels said. He noted it will be exciting to see Torain progress. 'This is really the start, for Ryan, of this year because he wasn't there all spring,' McDaniels added.
The Huddle Take: The news out of Denver appears good for Torain at the present time as he is running well while also seeing projected starter (Rookie Knowshon Moreno) still unsigned and not in training camp. Fantasy owners should take note that the longer the rookie holds out from reporting to camp the more likely there will be a running back committee at least for the first half of the season. Denver has a bevy of running backs with Ryan Torain and Peyton Hillis among the favorites to share carries with Moreno this season.

The Denver Post, reports Denver Broncos RB Ryan Torain (knee) is still recovering from last season's torn anterior cruciate ligament, but he was able to take part in individual drills during a June minicamp.
The Huddle Take: Torain will compete with Peyton Hillis and newly acquired rookie running back Knowshon Moreno for carries this season. However, the early projections tend to lean toward Moreno as the starter in Denver but keep watch on the competition as both Hillis and a fully healed Torain will certainly factor into the mix this year.
