Miami Dolphins RB Damien Williams will be the starting running back for Week 11's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Huddle Up: Williams will get the starting nod this afternoon even though he has clearly been outplayed by Kenyan Drake recently. Both players have eight receptions over the last two weeks but Williams has 16 carries for 33 rushing yards while Drake has 16 carries for 151 rushing yards and one touchdown in that stretch. Drake should still receive enough touches today to be worthy of consideration as a RB2 or flex option in all fantasy formats, while Williams should be viewed as nothing more than a flex option in PPR leagues only.

Miami Dolphins RB Damien Williams will continue to split carries with RB Kenyan Drake, according to offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen.

Huddle Up: Williams has managed just 33 yards on 16 carries the last two games while Drake has rushed for 151 yards and a touchdown on the same number of carries. Although Williams will remain involved, Drake is the only Miami back worth starting right now.

Miami Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake is worthy of more carries, according to offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen, but Christensen said the formula with Drake and RB Damien Williams will not change.

Huddle Up: Although Drake has been the better runner by a wide margin, both he and Williams have received 16 carries each over the last two games. Splitting carries limits Drake's ceiling, but he has done more than enough with his touches to be considered a flex play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 11.

Miami Dolphins RBs Kenyan Drake and Damien Williams will continue to split touches, according to offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen.

Huddle Up: Drake has earned the lead role in Miami's backfield, but the Dolphins aren't giving it to him yet. Not only is Drake a bigger playmaker, Williams has only averaged 3.1 yards per carry in his career. The former is a solid RB2 play in a great matchup this week. The latter is more of a PPR flex.

Miami Dolphins RB Damien Williams could only manage 19 rushing yards on nine carries in the team's Week 10 loss Monday, Nov. 13, versus the Carolina Panthers. He also had two receptions for 20 yards.

Huddle Up: Williams may have received more carries if the game didn't get so out of hand in the second half, but regardless, he's clearly getting outplayed by teammate Kenyan Drake, who had 82 yards on just seven carries. Thus, it's hard to trust Williams right now in any format, as Drake will probably be receiving more work from here on out.

Miami Dolphins RB Damien Williams (illness) is listed as the starting running back against the Carolina Panthers in Week 10.

Huddle Up: Williams will share snaps with Kenyan Drake during the game and should be involved in the running and passing game. He can be considered a flex option in point-per-reception leagues but is not a must-start option.

  • Posted: 11/11/2017 11:40am ET

Miami Dolphins RB Damien Williams (illness) fully participated in practice Saturday, Nov. 11, but is listed as questionable for Week 10.

Huddle Up: Williams should have a good chance to play against the Carolina Panthers after returning to practice Saturday. He would share playing time with Kenyan Drake if he is active and would be involved in the running and passing game. He has recorded 49 rushing yards and 97 receiving yards this season but probably should only be considered as a flex option.

Miami Dolphins RB Damien Williams (illness) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 10.

Huddle Up: Owners should know more about Williams' status after practice Saturday, Nov. 11. Williams received 13 total touches in Week 9 and shared work with Kenyan Drake. He likely would be involved in the running and passing game if he plays in Week 10, but owners may want to use other options in their lineups because of his uncertain status.

Miami Dolphins RB Damien Williams (illness) is out of practice Thursday, Nov. 9, due to illness.

Huddle Up: He should be able to recover in time to play the Carolina Panthers Monday night. It's a rough matchup, though, as they're one of the best teams the last five weeks against the position. He's a flex option in PPR formats.

  • Posted: 11/6/2017 5:32am ET

Miami Dolphins RB Damien Williams had seven carries for 14 yards and six catches for 47 yards and a touchdown in Week 9 Sunday, Nov. 5.

Huddle Up: Williams and Kenyan Drake had a pretty close split with Drake having two more carries, but he also lost a fumble. Williams could see more run and is a good RB3 option in PPR leagues.

  • Posted: 11/2/2017 9:21am ET

Miami Dolphins RB Damien Williams will serve as the goal line and third down back, according to offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen.

Huddle Up: Williams is a fringe player to own in fantasy, and he mostly serves as depth or Kenyan Drake insurance.

  • Posted: 5/3/2017 10:25am ET

Miami Dolphins restricted free-agent RB Damien Williams is refusing to sign his $1.8 million tender and has not participated in the team's offseason conditioning program.

Huddle Up: With the restricted free-agent deadline in the rear view mirror, Williams' only real choices are to accept the tender or sit out. The Dolphins are also looking for more from second-year back Kenyan Drake, who the team hopes can make some of the big plays in the passing game Williams did last year. It is probably in his best interest to report soon and try to hold off Drake, or he will risk whatever shot he had of serving as Jay Ajayi's backup in 2017.
