Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said DT B.J. Raji (ankle) was close to playing Week 6 but one of the team's doctors was not comfortable about the strength of the ankle.

Huddle Up: In hindsight, the Packers made the right call as they were able to rest Raji and still stifle the Texans' potent rushing game (only 90 yards on 28 carries) in the Monday night win.

Green Bay Packers DT B.J. Raji (ankle) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 6.

Huddle Up: Positively positive news for those starting the Green Bay D this week. Raji is the Pack's main man in the middle in their 3-4, and he'll be needed with the 49ers bringing a ball-control attack into Lambeau on Sunday.

Green Bay Packers DT B.J. Raji (ankle) was able to run during practice Monday, Sept. 3, and was happy with how his ankle responded. He is not sure if he will be able to play Week 1.

Huddle Up: Raji, literally, will leave a big hole in the muddle of the Packers' defense if he is unable to play. Green Bay had high hopes of improving its porous defense from a season ago but the preseason hasn't exactly gone as planned with LB and 2011 leading tackler Desmond Bishop already lost for the entire season.

Green Bay Packers DT B.J. Raji (ankle) left the preseason game Thursday, Aug. 30, after suffering an ankle injury. He will not return to the contest.

Huddle Up: A little odd that Raji would be playing in Week 4 of the preseason, especially with the Packers already having lost their leading tackler, LB Desmond Bishop, to a season-ending injury this month. Now the concern is Raji's health for the season opener only 10 days away.
