The Associated Press reports Philadelphia Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin caught six passes for 142 yards with two touchdowns Week 5.
The Huddle Take: The Eagles rookie receiver was tremendous in Week 5 and started the game off with a 51-yard touchdown reception from Donovan McNabb in the first quarter of the game. With wideout Kevin Curtis out with a knee injury, Maclin got the start for the Eagles and certainly made the most out of it. Fantasy owners should look at Maclin as top waiver wire target this week with the potential to have some other nice games as the season progresses.

The Philadelphia Inquirer, reports Philadelphia Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin had no receptions during the team's Week 1 game, but he expects to be more involved in the offense. Maclin said, "I should be. I'm excited to go out there and play a bigger role."
The Huddle Take: The road to development for this talented rookie appears to have a few more obstacles in the way with starting quarterback Donovan McNabb out at least for Week 2 with a rib injury. Maclin does have tremendous talent and should be a nice addition to a Philadelphia offense that already has DeSean Jackson and Kevin Curtis as its top receiving threats. Fantasy owners should take a wait and see approach before looking toward Maclin as starting option for their fantasy teams at the present time.

ESPN.com reports Philadelphia Eagles QB Donovan McNabb said he believes WR Jeremy Maclin is ready to start for the team.
The Huddle Take: That's just what Kevin Curtis wanted to hear. But the fact is that Maclin and DeSean Jackson would make an extremely explosive duo that opposing defenses would soon learn to fear. Don't be surprised if Maclin is a major contributor for the Eagles this season.

Les Bowen, of the Philadelphia Daily News, reports Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin has muffed a punt and fumbled a kickoff so far this preseason. Special teams coordinator Ted Daisher said, "It's a huge concern, and we can't have it." Daisher added, "Jeremy is a very self-accountable guy. He knows that he can't do that, and it's a combination of things, a young man that's pressing, trying to make a good impression, trying to do too much. He's got to secure the football in traffic, and he's got to make better decisions. Being a young returner, it's a process. They have to learn to make good decisions."
The Huddle Take: The Eagles are flush with quality return men, so if Maclin is struggling they have options. Despite being a rookie, Maclin does have plenty of return experience from his college days; it's highly likely he'll figure out the catching thing sooner rather than later.

The Associated Press reports Philadelphia Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin caught two passes for 44 yards during the team's preseason opener Thursday, Aug. 13.
The Huddle Take: Maclin was among 16—SIXTEEN!!—Eagles who caught a pass Thursday night, but his 28-yarder was the long gainer of the bunch. The rookie mixed in 120 return yards and should be an all-purpose yardage stud in leagues that include kickoff and punt return yardage.

Scout.com reports Philadelphia Eagles rookie WR Jeremy Maclin looked impressive during training camp Thursday, Aug. 6. He showed good acceleration. Maclin did most of his work on the outside, not in the slot.
The Huddle Take: Kevin Curtis is probably pretty worried, because the better Maclin looks in camp, the higher the likelihood he'll steal a significant amount of catches from Curtis this season.

ESPNews reports Philadelphia Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin agreed to a five-year deal worth $15.5 million with $9.5 million guaranteed, according to sources.
The Huddle Take: Confirming the deal is done. Maclin will be fairly well involved in the Philly offense this year, but considering the recent history of receivers not putting up huge numbers in that system, don't look for too many fireworks right away.

ESPN.com reports even if Philadelphia Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin had reported for the start of training camp on time, he likely would start the season as a reserve behind projected starters WRs DeSean Jackson and WR Kevin Curtis.
The Huddle Take: That's probably true, but a talent like Maclin shouldn't have to ride the pine too long. As long as he shows that he's adjusted to the speed of the NFL, and demonstrated consistent hands, it wouldn't be a surprise if the rookie is taking serious playing time from Curtis by midseason at the latest.

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid said it is important for the team's unsigned rookies to get into training camp quickly. He said he felt rookie WR Jeremy Maclin, who remains unsigned, was just starting to get used to the offense during minicamps. Reid said Maclin worked out with QB Donovan McNabb in Arizona during the offseason, too. 'I still think he needs the extra work from a team perspective. We want him here,' Reid said. Reid believes the two sides are close in a couple of areas in contract negotiations. Reid noted that being in camp at the start will help Maclin pick up valuable time learning the system before the rest of the veterans report.
The Huddle Take: Maclin was drafted by the Eagles to give the team a solid deep threat to stretch the field and go along with Kevin Curtis, Reggie Brown and DeSean Jackson in the Philadelphia receiving corp. If Maclin is signed prior to the start of training camp then consider the rookie a solid sleeper candidate for fantasy squads this season.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Philadelphia Eagles WR Jeremy Maclins agent, Jim Steiner, had preliminary discussions last week with the team and negotiations should intensify in the middle to latter part of this week, according to Steiner.
The Huddle Take: This is key to the Eagles success this season. Maclin is expected to play a fairly large part in the passing game and the longer it takes for him to sign the more he falls behind, hurting him as well as the team. His fantasy value isn't top line, but he'll do enough damage to be valuable if he can get on the field with the team to work on it.
