Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate caught four passes for 33 yards and one touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 3.

Huddle Up: Brate is still seeing a solid amount of playing time at tight end even though the team selected O.J. Howard in the first round of the draft. Brate could be a No. 2 tight end on some leagues but likely will not be in the starting lineup very often.

  • Posted: 5/15/2017 7:08am ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate will still remain a 'very valuable part of the offense,' which was a sentiment the team has emphasized repeatedly after drafting TE O.J. Howard.

Huddle Up: Brate is coming off a 57-660-8 breakout, but he may not be able to repeat it in 2017. He'll be a low-end TE1 option in fantasy.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate (back) said he has been fully recovered for more than two months and will be able to participate in OTA workouts without limitations when they begin.

Huddle Up: Brate's fantasy value took a big blow this offseason when Tampa Bay added DeSean Jackson in free agency and drafted O.J. Howard. However, he hauled in eight touchdowns last year, and his impact in the red zone could keep him in the TE2 conversation.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers restricted free-agent TE Cameron Brate signed his exclusive rights tender Monday, April 17.

Huddle Up: Brate is coming off a career year in which he caught 57 passes for 660 yards and eight touchdowns. The eight touchdowns were tied for most among tight ends (Hunter Henry). Assuming Brate stays healthy and maintains his starting role, he'll be in the running for TE1 status again this year.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers exclusive rights free-agent TE Cameron Brate signed his tender Monday, April 17.

Huddle Up: Brate broke out with a 57-660-8 year last year, but there are concerns whether he can repeat that. The Bucs really didn't have anyone to throw to besides Mike Evans, who was drawing double coverages. Now they've added DeSean Jackson to open things up. So temper expectations a bit, but Brate is a low-end TE1 option in fantasy.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers exclusive rights free-agent TE Cameron Brate was tendered Tuesday, Feb. 28.

Huddle Up: Brate had a breakout 57-660-8 campaign in 2016, and he'll enter '17 as a low-end TE1 option in fantasy.

  • Posted: 2/12/2017 5:03pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate tied the single-season franchise record for touchdown receptions by a tight end with eight in 2016.

Huddle Up: Unless the Buccaneers add a tight end during the offseason, Brate looks like a low-end TE1 candidate heading into 2017.

  • Posted: 12/27/2016 1:17pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate (back) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Dec. 27.

Huddle Up: Luke Stocker and Brandon Myers will take over duties at tight end for the last week of the regular season. Neither can be trusted for Week 17 fantasy championships, but they're dirt cheap in daily formats. Myers is probably more trustworthy for those who want to start one.

  • Posted: 12/19/2016 5:36am ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate had five catches for 73 yards and a touchdown Sunday, Dec. 18, against the Dallas Cowboys.

    Huddle Up: Brate's 56-648-7 line isn't receiving a lot of fanfare, but he's having a breakout year. He's a solid midrange TE1.

  • Posted: 12/5/2016 5:17am ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate had a game-high six catches for 86 yards and a touchdown in Week 13 Sunday, Dec. 5.

Huddle Up: Brate has averaged six targets per game over the last five games, and he has three touchdowns in that time. He has worked his way into the low-end TE1 mix, but he's not a sure thing.

  • Posted: 11/20/2016 7:18pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate posted two catches for 18 yards on three targets in the Week 11 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He was targeted three times.

Huddle Up: Brate saw his three-game touchdown streak come to an end, and his yardage total was his lowest since a 16-yard line in Week 2. Chalk it up as one poor outing, as he remains a decent streaming option in most deeper fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 11/19/2016 6:31pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate has caught a touchdown in three straight games, and he said the offense is using the tight end in more ways than it was at the start of the year.

Huddle Up: With his effectiveness in the red zone and a growing role in the offense, Brate is worth a look as a low-end TE1 in deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 11/3/2016 10:01pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate racked up five receptions for 43 yards and a touchdown on six targets in the Week 9 game against the Atlanta Falcons Thursday, Nov. 3.

Huddle Up: Brate has scored in back-to-back games, and he has four scores over his past six outings. Despite the two scores in two games, he remains more of a bye-week replacement and emergency starter than a regular fantasy contributor.

  • Posted: 10/30/2016 4:30pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate posted three receptions for 22 yards and a touchdown in the Week 8 game against the Oakland Raiders. He was targeted five times.

Huddle Up: Brate has managed three or more grabs in six of his seven games this season while finding the end zone three times. However, his fantasy value is limited to the deepest of PPR formats at this point.

  • Posted: 10/2/2016 10:38pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate posted five receptions for a team-high 67 yards on eight targets in the Week 4 game against the Denver Broncos.

Huddle Up: The former Harvard standout has 10 receptions for 113 yards and two scores over the past two games since the team jettisoned troubled Austin Seferian-Jenkins. Brate isn't a bad stopgap option if you need a bye-week replacement in future games since he has been targeted 18 times in the past two outings.
