Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy is unlikely to be in line for a smaller workload this year after leading the league in carries (314) and touches (366) last year. There were no signs that McCoy's production suffered because of his heavy workload in 2013, and he often mentions that his running style helps him take fewer big hits.

Huddle Up: If any of McCoy's numbers are going to take a dip, it's likely his reception totals. Here's all you need to know: McCoy's 232 receptions rank third among all NFL RBs from 2010-13. The clear No. 1 on that list is Darren Sproles with 291. Sproles is now in Philly after being acquired in a trade for a 5th-round pick.

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy said he believes the addition of RB Darren Sproles will help him this upcoming season, because it will allow him to stay fresh longer in games. 'Being in the prime of my career and bringing in a guy like Sproles who can do so much, we'll work well together. I think having me fresh in the fourth quarter with fewer carries can be even more dangerous,' McCoy said.

Huddle Up: McCoy had a league-high 314 rushing attempts and a career-most 356 touches this past season, and while that netted a a league-leading 2,146 yards from scrimmage, the workload would start to take its toll.

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy suffered an ankle injury during the 2014 Pro Bowl and is considered doubtful to return.

Huddle Up: Not the ideal end to the season for the NFL's rushing leader, but he'll have ample time to heal for 2014.

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy wants to carry the ball more, and put the offense on his back. 'I feel like this game, I've got to put the offense on my back,' McCoy said Wednesday. 'I want to roll. I feel like myself and the big guys up front -- we've got to put this game on our back and take care of business and get a win.'

Huddle Up: There would be no better time for the Eagles and McCoy's fantasy owners to lean heavily on the RB with the Bears and their 29th-ranked defense vs. fantasy backs coming to town.

Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy (leg) left Thursday night's game against the Kansas City Chiefs after suffering a second-quarter leg injury but returned in the third quarter and finished with 158 rushing yards and a TD on 20 carries.

Huddle Up: The NFL's rushing leader threw a big-time scare into his fantasy owners when he limped to the lockerroom in the second quarter, but returned with a flourish, posting his third 100-yard game -- rushing or receiving -- in 3 outings this season on an otherwise disappointing night for Philly.

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy wants the team to spread the ball around better on offense. "I didn't mind it Monday night," McCoy said. "I think we can do a better job rotating because it's a long season. I don't think I need to have the ball 31, 32 times in a game for us to be a successful offense. We have too many different weapons. I think the running backs we have here can definitely play. Bryce Brown showed you last year he's definitely a talented back. So I think we have to do a better job of monitoring the reps."

Huddle Up: While Philly's new offense may be running more plays, the plan certainly can't be to load up McCoy with 30 touches a week. Brown will see more work, and possibly Chris Polk as well, though McCoy will still see more than enough touches to remain a top fantasy contributor.

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy rushed for 184 yards and a TD on 31 carries and caught a pass for 5 yards Monday, Sept. 9 in a 33-27 win over the Washington Redskins.

Huddle Up: McCoy, one of the key cogs in Chip Kelly's new warp-speed offense, claimed the NFL rushing lead by halftime, picking up 115 yards in the opening 30 minutes, and finished a yard off his career single-game high on a career-high 31 carries. With all the touches he's expected to get in Kelly's attack, McCoy is the early front-runner for the top-scoring fantasy RB of 2013.

Posted: 8/13/2013 7:32pm et

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy (knee) is expected to play in the team's preseason game Thursday, Aug. 15.

Huddle Up: Good news for McCoy and his fantasy owners as the RB is trying to bounce back from a disappointing 2012 when he missed 4 games and finished 21st among fantasy backs (Huddle Performance scoring).

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy (knee) will not play in the first preseason game because of his knee injury.

Huddle Up: The injury isn't considered to be serious, so the Eagles are likely just being cautious with their franchise RB by sitting him for Friday's game. At this point the injury is nothing for owners to worry about and McCoy should still be considered a first-round fantasy pick.

Posted: 8/7/2013 9:37pm et

Philadelphia Eagles RB Chris Polk continues to challenge RB Bryce Brown for the primary backup spot behind RB LeSean McCoy. The knock on Brown is that he continues to have a tendency to bounce it outside, while Polk runs more between the tackles. However, at joint practice Wednesday, Aug. 7, with the New England Patriots, Polk put the ball on the ground. Brown has yet to fumble so far during training camp.

Huddle Up: This is a battle for fantasy owners to watch closely during training camp. Polk was a highly regarded college back but went undrafted because of knee issues. Brown was productive last year in spot duty late in the season. Whichever back wins the No. 2 job has fantasy value as McCoy's handcuff in Chip Kelly's run-heavy offense.
