The Associated Press reports Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy had 20 carries for 84 yards with a touchdown Week 3.
The Huddle Take: McCoy was tremendous filling in for the injured Brian Westbrook in Philadelphia and certainly proved he is capable of carrying the load if given the opportunity. With Westbrook continuing to have injury problems it would not be out of the realm of possibilities to see McCoy take on more of a consistent role on offense even when Westbrook returns to action.

The Associated Press reports Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy had 10 carries for 55 yards and two receptions for 12 yards during the team's preseason opener Thursday, Aug. 13.
The Huddle Take: With Brian Westbrook reportedly set to return to practice next week, McCoy took advantage of this opportunity to make a case for an increased role as Westbrook's caddy. He's one of, if not the, most important handcuff in fantasy football heading into the draft and auction portion of the program.

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid said RB LeSean McCoy has been doing well at picking up the blitz so far during training camp. "He's aggressive. Can he work a little bit on his technique? Yeah, that's what he doing. But I'll tell you what, he's had some pick ups as we've gone along here," Reid said.
The Huddle Take: Pass protection is one of the trickiest things for rookie backs to pick up, but it's critical if they are to remain on the field in passing situations. That McCoy's pass pro has impressed Reid suggests that the Eagles wouldn't miss a beat if Brian Westbrook's injury forced Philly to use more McCoy at the start of the season.

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid said backup RB LeSean McCoy has a great change of direction and the ability to catch the football. "We're asking him to do a lot of things formation-wise; he's able to handle that," Reid said. "He's really done well, and it looks like he does a nice job in the blitz pick-up part of it. Again, it's not live. We're just asking him to recognize it and step in there and do that, so he's done well with that." Reid said they'll put a split on McCoy's injured thumb and he'll return to action next week.
The Huddle Take: Assuming the thumb injury doesn't set McCoy back as he learns the Philly offense, he appears set to at minimum provide fantasy value as Brian Westbrook insurance. And with Westy already on the shelf following ankle surgery, McCoy's impact could come sooner rather than later.

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid said rookie RB LeSean McCoy catches the football "extremely well" and he will give the team depth at running back. On whether or not he'll be the team's No. 2 running back, Reid said: "We'll see how he is and how he picks everything up." In regards to McCoy's blocking ability, Reid said that is something he is going to need to work on. McCoy said Reid told him twice that his blocking will need work, which he is fine with. "I think everybody has something they can improve on," McCoy said.
The Huddle Take: It's no shock a rookie back will need to improve in pass protection. How quickly McCoy gets onto the field—and how long he stays there—will depend heavily on how quickly he can pick up this critical skill.

The Philadelphia Eagles have selected University of Pittsburgh RB LeSean McCoy with the 53rd overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft.
The Huddle Take: McCoy will start his career in Philly by spelling Brian Westbrook, making him a must-handcuff fantasy pick for the oft-nicked Eagle. McCoy is also situated to eventually take over Westbrook's role.
