The New York Giants re-signed WR Ramses Barden to an undisclosed deal Thursday, May 23.
Huddle Up: Barden, who had a career season with only 14 receptions for 220 yards last season tested the free-agent waters but found no takers, and now is back with a familiar cast of wideouts in New York, only now with Louis Murphy replacing Domenik Hixon.

The Carolina Panthers may look to sign New York Giants impending
free-agent WR Ramses Barden this offseason because he could be
productive in the team's vertical passing game.
Huddle Up: Perhaps the Panthers being swayed by Barden's career-best
performance (9 catches for 138 yards) against them in a Week 3
Thursday night game last season? In any case, though, Barden
deserves a chance to show what he can do with a more prominent role
after being buried on the depth chart behind Hakeem Nicks, Victor
Cruz and Co. in New York the past several seasons.

Jeff Sperbeck, agent for New York Giants impending free-agent WR Ramses Barden, said the Giants have interest in re-signing Barden but will allow him to test free agency.
Huddle Up: Barden is log-jammed behind Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz, and Rueben Randle in New York so it makes sense to see what else might be out there for him.

New York Giants impending free-agent WR Ramses Barden said he hopes to re-sign with the team this offseason. He said he would like for him and his agent to sit down with the Giants management and work out an agreement.
Huddle Up: Barden definitely flashed with his 9-catch, 138-yard effort against the Panthers in Week 3, and retaining the WR at the right price has to be on the Giants' list of considerations given starter Hakeem Nicks' health issues of late.

New York Giants WR Ramses Barden (concussion) did not participate in practice
Thursday, Oct. 4.
Huddle Up: With Hakeem Nicks (knee) already ruled out for Week 5, the Giants would be
down a pair of wideouts if Barden is unable to go Sunday. Fortunately, the Giants
are deep in pass catchers with WRs Victor Cruz, Domenik Hixon and rookie
Rueben Randle and TE Martellus Bennett all able to pick up the slack.

Updating a previous item, New York Giants WR Ramses Barden (concussion) suffered a concussion late in the team's Week 4 game, according to head coach Tom Coughlin.
Huddle Up: With Nicks potentially out again, this opens the door up for Domenik Hixon to have a huge game. Rueben Randle could also have a sneaky good day as the No. 3 receiver this week. Monitor Barden's status through the rest of the week so you can plan accordingly.

New York Giants WR Ramses Barden caught a game-high 9 passes for 138 yards
Thursday night in a 36-7 win over the Carolina Panthers.
Huddle Up: RB Andre Brown wasn't the only Giants backup to spring a fantasy surprise
Thursday night as the 6-foot-6 Barden proved to be a more than capable fill-in for
the injured Hakeem Nicks. Barden matched his 2011 reception total in one night
and easily eclipsed last year's reception yardage total of 94 on 10 targets.

New York Giants WR Ramses Barden appears to have solidified his roster spot after two solid preseason games. 'At this point, the decisions aren't up to me,' Barden said. 'I think I bring a lot to the team. I think people see that and I think they want me to continue to bring those attributes to the team during the course of the season.'
Huddle Up: The fourth-year wideout was the Giants' second-leading receiver this preseason with 9 catches for 91 yards and a TD. Barden only has 15 receptions in his 3 seasons, but at 6-foot-6, he has the size to be a red-zone threat.

New York Giants WR Ramses Barden may have solidified a spot on the final roster with his performance in the third preseason game.
Huddle Up: Barden could be a waiver wire hero should injury befall someone, but he will be buried on the depth chart otherwise with Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz, Rueben Randle and possibly Jernel Jernigan ahead of him.
