Joe Reedy, of The Cincinnati Enquirer, reports Cincinnati Bengals RB Bernard Scott suffered a knee injury in Week 7. The injury is not believed to be serious.
The Huddle Take: Scott received a handful of carries during the Bengals' blowout win over the Bears, but the afternoon clearly belonged to Cedric Benson. Cincy has talked about getting Scott more touches, and while this wasn't the week to do so—what with Benson seeking revenge on his former team and all—if the injury isn't significant Scott could see an uptick in workload going forward.

Geoff Hobson, of Bengals.com, reports the Cincinnati Bengals are looking to get RB Bernard Scott more carries. Scott has had one carry over his past two games. Offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski said, "We've to get B. Scott more snaps. We wanted to give him more plays (Sunday, Oct. 18), but we had a short play count because we were coming off the field too fast and they were controlling the ball a lot. We couldn't stay on the field long enough to get B. Scott in the game."
The Huddle Take: Cedric Benson has been running well for the Bengals, but it wouldn't hurt to have a second back get some touches to help Benson stay fresh. Scott was impressive in the preseason but has been extremely quiet during the regular slate due to a lack of carries.

Joe Reedy, of The Cincinnati Enquirer, reports Cincinnati Bengals RB Bernard Scott could provide a change-of-pace back for the team this year, as he is a shifty, speedy back. However, his ability to continue improving as a blocker will dictate how much playing time he receives this year.
The Huddle Take: Pass protection is one of the key facets that keeps rookie backs off the field, as most running backs with NFL-level talent weren't asked to block much in college. Scott will need to figure that out soon in order to take over third-down duties, or if he has designs on eventually replacing Cedric Benson as the Bengals' feature back.
