Denver Broncos TE Jeff Heuerman (hamstring) has been limited in organized team activities with a hamstring injury.

Huddle Up: There's been a bit of buzz about Heuerman as the heir to Owen Daniels in Denver's version of the Gary Kubiak offense, but if he can't get on the field it will be tough for him to carve out that niche.

Denver Broncos TE Jeff Heuerman is working hard to return from knee surgery, head coach Gary Kubiak said, and ESPN beat writer Jeff Legwold believes Heuerman could earn the No. 1 tight end job during training camp.

Huddle Up: With only journeyman Virgil Green realistically the only other current competition at the position, Heuerman -- the 2015 third-round pick -- has the inside track to the starting gig and should be near full health by the time training camp rolls around considering it's almost already been a full calendar year since he tore his ACL in rookie camp.

Denver Broncos TE Jeff Heuerman will factor big time into Denver's 2016 plans. Heuerman has already recovered from a torn ACL that cost him his rookie season last year. Head coach Gary Kubiak said Heuerman was very impressive when he came to rookie camp last May. The Broncos believe he can be a complete tight end.

Huddle Up: Right now, the 2015 third-round pick has a clear path to the No. 1 TE gig with the recent release of veteran Owen Daniels and the team's lack of interest in re-signing free-agent Vernon Davis, but there remains much question about how high Heuerman's ceiling is after catching only 52 passes for 792 yards in four years at Ohio State.
