The Cleveland Browns signed free-agent QB Brian Hoyer (Cardinals) to an undisclosed two-year deal Thursday, May 16.

Huddle Up: Hoyer didn't last long on the open market after being released by the Cardinals, but the road to playing time won't be any smoother with Brandon Weeden, Jason Campbell and Thaddeus Lewis already on the Brownies' QB depth chart.

The Arizona Cardinals have waived QB Brian Hoyer.

Huddle Up: With Carson Palmer, Drew Stanton, and Ryan Lindley on the roster there was no need for Hoyer. Expect him to catch on as a backup elsewhere.

Arizona Cardinals QB Brian Hoyer, who will start in Week 17, is not worried about his status for 2013. He is expected to be a restricted free agent in March, as he has been active for just four games this season and not accrued enough time to become an unrestricted free agent. 'I'm not really worried about that right now,' Hoyer said Wednesday, Dec. 26. 'I'm worried about what play will be called on third-and 2-to-5. We're not going to the playoffs and this is the last game and there will be plenty of time to worry about that after Sunday.'

Huddle Up: Hoyer replaced the ineffective (again) Ryan Lindley in the third quarter of the Week 16 loss to the Bears and was 11-of-19 for 105 yards and an interception. Whether Hoyer gets some credit or not, WR Larry Fitzgerald had his best game (8-111) in weeks, but the task will be a rugged one this Sunday with the Cards facing an angry Niners' defense on the road.

Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt said QB Brian Hoyer will be the starting quarterback Week 17.

Huddle Up: Hoyer wasn't exactly good last week, but at least he got the ball to Larry Fitzgerald. Hopefully this will be the last of the terrible quarterbacks to start for Arizona for a while. Maybe they'll bring Kurt Warner out of retirement.

The Arizona Cardinals have claimed QB Brian Hoyer off waivers from the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Huddle Up: There's really no reason he shouldn't be starting this weekend. Seriously, even if he only knows two pages of the playbook could he be any worse than what the Cards have trotted out this season? Page 1: throw to Larry Fitzgerald. Page 2: see page 1. Your move, Ken Whisenhunt.

The Pittsburgh Steelers signed free-agent QB Brian Hoyer (Patriots) Tuesday, Nov. 20.

Huddle Up: This has little bearing on the Steelers and the fantasy football world unless Charlie Batch succumbs to the quarterback injury bug in Pittsburgh. Hoyer has been out of football since the Patriots released him, and he is not likely to step in and make an impact if his number is called. Right now the Pittsburgh offense is downgraded all around when it comes to fantasy football.
