Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) is unlikely to practice fully until training camp as he recovers left shoulder surgery, according to Brandon Stokley of 104.3 The Fan.

Huddle Up: Siemian is expected to be ready for OTAs, but it is obvious the Broncos will exercise extreme caution with him after 2016 first-round draft pick Paxton Lynch looked overwhelmed in limited action as a rookie last season. The uncertainly atop Denver's depth chart heading into free agency may be enough to convince the front office to sign a capable veteran backup. Siemian is a middling fantasy QB2 at best.

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) said his rehab is progressing well and his arm will be out of a sling in a couple of more weeks.

Huddle Up: Siemian is expected to battle Paxton Lynch for the starting job in 2017, but if he breaks camp as the starter, he can be drafted as a QB2.

  • Posted: 1/5/2017 7:33pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) underwent successful shoulder surgery on his left shoulder Thursday, Jan. 5.

Huddle Up: If Siemian can hold off Paxton Lynch and remain the starter in Denver, he will be a midrange QB2 in 2017.

  • Posted: 1/3/2017 5:30am ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) will have surgery on his left shoulder this week, and he'll be ready for offseason workouts in April. 'It's optional surgery,'' Siemian said. 'It really only bothers me when I work out but I figure I'm going to have to keep working out for a while so I'm getting it fixed.''

Huddle Up: All things considered, Siemian probably exceeded expectations this season with 3,401 passing yards, 18 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. There is room to grow for the 25-year-old. He'll be a QB2 next season that could have upside to slip into the low-end QB1 area.

  • Posted: 12/29/2016 7:57pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (foot) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Dec. 29.

Huddle Up: Siemian is expected to split time with Paxton Lynch in Week 17, so he needs to be avoided in all formats.

  • Posted: 12/25/2016 9:02pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian completed 17 of his 43 pass attempts for 183 yards and an interception in a 33-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday, Dec. 25.

Huddle Up: After torching the Chiefs the first time around, Siemian looked overmatched in this one. The Denver offense continues to struggle, and Siemian will be no more than a QB2 in Week 17.

  • Posted: 12/23/2016 6:24pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (foot, hip) was a full participant in practice Friday, Dec. 23, and is not listed on the Week 16 injury report.

Huddle Up: Siemian has struggled to put the ball in the end zone the last two weeks, but a Week 16 matchup against a Kansas City defense he torched to the tune of 368 yards and three touchdowns the first time around could bring an end to the slump. He could be a sleeper QB1 this weekend.

  • Posted: 12/21/2016 7:00pm ET

The Denver Broncos believe QB Trevor Siemian has led the offense to just one touchdown in the past 10 quarters, but he is steadily gaining more respect from the defense as well as the coaching staff. His calm demeanor and ability to overcome typical mistakes as a first-year starter has management thinking long term, according to NFL Network's James Palmer. 'Talking to people in the building, the thought process is that even though they picked (QB Paxton Lynch) in the first round, (Siemian) is in mind to be the guy moving forward for the next couple of seasons.'

Huddle Up: Siemian surprised by winning the starting job in training camp and the preseason, beating out veteran Mark Sanchez and Lynch. Now, it appears he has done a good enough job to be considered heading into 2017 and beyond.

  • Posted: 12/15/2016 7:28pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (foot) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Dec. 15.

Huddle Up: Siemian has had some big games in recent weeks, but a tough matchup against New England in Week 15 pushes him into QB2 territory.

  • Posted: 12/13/2016 5:51pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian is one of three quarterbacks to average at least 300 passing yards since Week 8. He has averaged 303.8 yards in that span. Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins (341.5) and New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (312.0) are the other two.

Huddle Up: Siemian has been forced to throw more late in the season due to underperforming running back play. He'd been impressive for the most part in his first season as starter, but he's not a recommended start in the fantasy playoffs this week against a tougher New England Patriots pass defense.

  • Posted: 12/11/2016 6:44pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (foot) was able to start in Week 14 against the Tennessee Titans, and he completed 35 of his 51 pass attempts for 334 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions.

Huddle Up: Siemian did not make any mistakes, but he also didn't do much outside of the decent yardage total. He remains more of a QB2 in most fantasy leagues when healthy.

  • Posted: 12/9/2016 10:55am ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (foot) is 'progressing toward playing' in Week 14 against the Tennessee Titans, although it is far from a certainty, according to 9News' Mike Klis.

Huddle Up: The fantasy fortunes of Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders rely heavily on Siemian's return, as rookie Paxton Lynch has looked overwhelmed in his first two career starts. Klis suggested whatever improvement Siemian can make in his mobility over the next two days will likely be key to his activation. Given the struggles of the Titans' pass defense, Siemian will be a high-upside QB2 and solid contrarian DFS option should he play.

  • Posted: 12/7/2016 10:53pm ET

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (foot) will practice Thursday, Dec. 8, head coach Gary Kubiak said Wednesday, Dec. 7. The coach told reporters both Siemian and QB Paxton Lynch will get ready to play in Week 14.

Huddle Up: It's too early to say if Siemian will be ready to play, but he is best used as a QB2 in most fantasy formats when healthy.

  • Posted: 12/2/2016 11:10am ET

Updating a previous story, Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (foot) has been ruled out for Week 13 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Rookie Paxton Lynch will make his second career start in his absence.

Huddle Up: It's too bad for Siemian, who enjoyed a great game last week against the Kansas City Chiefs after finally getting over the sprained left shoulder joint he suffered in Week 4. Lynch's presence under center is a downgrade for receivers Demaryius Thomas as well as Emmanuel Sanders, although the rookie should be expected to perform better than he did in his first career start against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 5.

  • Posted: 12/2/2016 10:48am ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (foot) is not expected to practice Friday, Dec. 2, and unlikely to play Week 13 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Huddle Up: Siemian is dealing with a sprained foot, so there is no guarantee he'll be ready to go next week either. The Northwestern product was coming off one of his best games of the season and his absence will be a downgrade for receivers Demaryius Thomas as well as Emmanuel Sanders. First-round rookie Paxton Lynch will get the start if Siemian is ruled out for certain later today.

  • Posted: 12/1/2016 6:33am ET

Updating previous reports, Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (foot) could start in Week 13 even if he's unable to practice during the week, according to head coach Gary Kubiak.

Huddle Up: He has a tough matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars this week, and with the injury concerns, he's someone to avoid in most leagues. He could be worth a DFS shot in the dark but little more.

  • Posted: 11/25/2016 9:16pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian looks 'fresh' and is moving around like he did the first few weeks of the season, according to head coach Gary Kubiak.

Huddle Up: It doesn't matter how well Siemian looks to Kubiak, he is a QB2 for fantasy purposes.

  • Posted: 11/13/2016 2:54pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian suffered through two interceptions Sunday, Nov. 13, against the New Orleans Saints, but he finished with 258 yards and two touchdowns in a 25-23 win.

Huddle Up: Siemian came through in a big game when Denver needed him to excel, and that's a big thing for his fantasy owners. He's becoming a decent QB1 option for teams.

  • Posted: 11/10/2016 8:21pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Nov. 10.

Huddle Up: Siemian's production has left a lot to be desired, but a favorable Week 10 matchup against the Saints makes him a potential DFS sleeper.

  • Posted: 11/4/2016 5:18pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 4, and is not on the injury report for Week 9.

Huddle Up: Siemian is coming off a 276-yard performance in his last game but has only two touchdowns in the last three games. Owners in most leagues should be able to find better options to use, but Siemian may be a bye week replacement in deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 11/3/2016 7:47pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) was a full participant at practice for the second straight day Thursday, Nov. 3.

Huddle Up: Siemian is in no danger of missing Denver's Week 9 tilt with the Oakland Raiders, but owners can do better for a QB1 in most leagues. The former seventh-round draft pick has just one touchdown pass in three games since returning from the injury that sidelined him in Week 5.

  • Posted: 11/2/2016 4:37pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Nov. 2.

Huddle Up: Siemian has posted decent numbers so far this season with eight touchdowns and four interceptions but has thrown for at least 250 yards in only three games. He should be considered as a No. 2 quarterback in most leagues but could be a bye week replacement in deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 10/30/2016 8:36pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian completed 20 of his 38 pass attempts for 276 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in the Week 8 game against the San Diego Chargers.

Huddle Up: Siemian's yardage total was his highest since Week 3, but he failed to throw for at least one touchdown for the second time this season. He remains more of a QB2 in most fantasy leagues, although he isn't a bad streaming option against a bad Oakland pass defense if you need a bye-week replacement or low-priced DFS option in Week 9.

  • Posted: 10/28/2016 1:17pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 28, and is not on the injury report for Week 8.

Huddle Up: Siemian has thrown at least one touchdown in each of the last four games but has been held to under 250 yards in four of his six starts this season. Siemian could be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in deeper leagues as a bye week replacement, but owners in most leagues can find better options.

  • Posted: 10/26/2016 3:13pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Oct. 26.

Huddle Up: Siemian has mostly been a game manager for the Broncos in 2016. He has done enough to win games and has avoided costly mistakes for the most part. Even with C.J. Anderson out, though, Siemian remains a backup fantasy quarterback.

  • Posted: 10/25/2016 5:52pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian has been given more freedom to make decisions at the line of scrimmage, according to head coach Gary Kubiak.

Huddle Up: Apparently Siemian is using that freedom to hand the ball off more. The Broncos found great success in the ground game Monday night with C.J. Anderson and Devontae Booker. Siemian has held his own in his first season as a starter, but he won't be in the QB1 conversation any time soon.

  • Posted: 10/24/2016 8:50pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian completed 14 of his 25 pass attempts for 157 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in the Week 7 game against the Houston Texans Monday, Oct. 24.

Huddle Up: Siemian has tossed at least one touchdown in each of his past four games, and five of six this season, but his yardage totals have been mediocre at best. He is best used as a low-end QB2 in leagues which require two signal callers, and fantasy leagues as a bye-week replacement.

  • Posted: 10/22/2016 1:53pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) fully participated in practice Saturday, Oct. 22, and is not on the injury report for Week 7.

Huddle Up: Siemian has thrown for six touchdowns and zero interceptions in his past three games. He could be considered a low-end No. 1 quarterback in deeper leagues, but owners in most leagues should be able to find better options to use.

  • Posted: 10/21/2016 6:40pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) was a full participant in practice Friday, Oct. 21.

Huddle Up: Aside from a four-touchdown outburst against Cincinnati, Siemian has had one touchdown or less in every game. Avoid him in all formats against Houston in Week 7.

  • Posted: 10/13/2016 4:21pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) is active and will start the team's Week 6 game Thursday, Oct. 13, versus the San Diego Chargers.

Huddle Up: San Diego's defense has yielded plenty of points thus far in the 2016 campaign, but owners should be aware that Siemian may be playing in this contest at less than 100 percent. Even so, he'll still have QB2 potential.

  • Posted: 10/13/2016 6:16am ET

Updating previous reports, Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) will start Thursday, Oct. 13, against the San Diego Chargers.

Huddle Up: The matchup isn't bad, but Siemian has one standout performance in 3 1/2 games. He's an upper-level QB2 in Week 6.

  • Posted: 10/12/2016 1:02pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 12, and is listed as questionable for Week 6.

Huddle Up: Siemian should be able to play against the San Diego Chargers this week, but owners will need to check the inactive list before deciding on their rosters. Siemian has posted decent numbers so far this season and can be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 10/12/2016 5:29am ET

Updating previous reports, Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) is expected to start Thursday, Oct. 13, in Week 6, barring an unforeseen setback.

Huddle Up: Siemian had an electric game in Week 3, but he hasn't done much of note otherwise. He's a suspect bye-week replacement against the San Diego Chargers.

  • Posted: 10/11/2016 4:35pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) was a limited participant in practice Tuesday, Oct. 11.

Huddle Up: As stated previously, both Siemian and Paxton Lynch are risky starting options in the fantasy realm even in a favorable matchup against the San Diego Chargers. Lynch struggled in his first start last week, while Siemian may not be fully healthy even if he does start. Look elsewhere for your starting fantasy quarterback this week.

  • Posted: 10/11/2016 11:32am ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) said he expects to play against the San Diego Chargers Thursday, Oct. 13.

Huddle Up: If Siemian can get in some more practices, even if he's limited, today and tomorrow then it will be a good sign for his availability on Thursday. Siemian is a better option than Paxton Lynch, but both are risky starts for fantasy purposes, even against a weak Chargers secondary.

  • Posted: 10/9/2016 11:53am ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) has been declared inactive for the team's Week 5 game.

Huddle Up: Siemian will miss Week 5 but may be able to play in Week 6, so owners should keep an eye on the situation. Paxton Lynch will be the starting quarterback and is coming off a solid Week 4 performance. Lynch could be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in deeper leagues and could be used in daily fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 10/7/2016 3:37pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 7, and is listed as questionable for Week 5.

Huddle Up: Siemian may be a game-time decision this week, so owners should continue to monitor the situation. Siemian has played well so far this season, but owners probably will be able to find other options to use in their starting lineups.

  • Posted: 10/6/2016 11:21am ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) was able to throw during the early part of practice Thursday, Oct. 6.

Huddle Up: Siemian appears to have a decent chance to play in Week 5, but owners should continue to keep an eye on the situation. Siemian could be a low-end No. 1 option in deeper leagues if he is active and could also be a starting candidate in daily fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 10/5/2016 9:54pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) might be a game-time decision for Week 5 against the Atlanta Falcons. 'I'd take it all the way to game day,' head coach Gary Kubiak said Wednesday, Oct. 5, on deciding on a starter. 'I trust Trevor. He knows exactly what we're doing and he's very bright.' Siemian felt even if he doesn't practice, he might still be able to play.

Huddle Up: If Siemian is unable to play Sunday, rookie Paxton Lynch would make his first NFL start. Neither is particularly attractive from a fantasy perspective outside of formats which require two starting signal callers.

  • Posted: 10/5/2016 3:37pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 5.

Huddle Up: Owners should know more about Siemian's status later in the week. He would have a favorable matchup against the Atlanta Falcons defense this week and could be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in leagues if he is active.

  • Posted: 10/4/2016 5:44pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) said his sore shoulder felt better Tuesday, Oct. 4, than it did Monday, Oct. 3. 'Thankfully, it's my left shoulder, so it makes it a little better,' Siemian said. Siemian is considered day-to-day but is expected to play in Week 5. Head coach Gary Kubiak said Siemian is capable of starting this weekend even if he doesn't practice this week.

Huddle Up: Siemian has been one of the more pleasant surprises in real life and in fantasy football so far this season. His status will need to be monitored over the next few days, but if he's active he makes for a nice sleeper play against an Atlanta Falcons defense that has been the worst fantasy defense against quarterbacks this year.

  • Posted: 10/3/2016 9:45pm ET

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) will start in the Week 5 game against the Atlanta Falcons if ready. 'Trevor is our starting quarterback,' head coach Gary Kubiak said Monday, Oct. 3. 'Hopefully he's going to be OK. We feel fortunate with Trevor.'

Huddle Up: Siemian will not lose his job if healthy, even though rookie Paxton Lynch looked good subbing for Siemian. Whomever starts against the Falcons in Week 5 faces a very favorable matchup, and Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders are both playing well at the wideout spots to help the QB.

  • Posted: 10/3/2016 5:12am ET

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) likely has a sprained AC joint in his left shoulder and will undergo more tests.

Huddle Up: The injury could cost him a couple of games since the team doesn't have a bye week until Week 11. Paxton Lynch would be a low-end replacement for a bye week in Week 5 against the Atlanta Falcons.

  • Posted: 9/25/2016 2:04pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian threw for four touchdowns and finished with 312 yards Sunday, Sept. 25, in a 29-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Huddle Up: This win and performance boosts Siemian's stock significantly. There were questions about how Siemian would perform on the road, and the rookie answered them and then some. Don't go crazy and make Siemian your QB1, but he does merit fantasy play.

  • Posted: 9/24/2016 1:04pm ET

Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak said QB Trevor Siemian is still adjusting to the speed of the NFL but needs to make better decisions with the ball.

Huddle Up: Siemian played better in Week 2 but still has only one touchdown and three interceptions in the first two games. Siemian should be considered a No. 2 quarterback in most leagues and likely will remain on the bench for most of the season.

  • Posted: 9/8/2016 9:39pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian completed 18 of his 26 passes for 178 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions and ran five times for 20 yards in a 21-20 win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 1.

Huddle Up: Siemian made some nice throws, but it is clear Denver plans on relying on its defense and ground attack as much as possible. At best, Siemian is a backup in deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 9/8/2016 9:30am ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian has been told by general manager John Elway that he does not need to worry about losing his job and that he should just play his game, according to a source.

Huddle Up: Siemian won the starting job during the preseason and seems to have the backing of the coaching staff and the front office. Siemian will have one of better wide receiver duos to work with in the passing game but should still be considered a No. 2 quarterback in most fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 8/29/2016 8:18am ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian was informed he won the starting quarterback position and will start against the Carolina Panthers Sept. 8.

Huddle Up: Siemian beat out Mark Sanchez and Paxton Lynch for the gig. Siemian is 27-for-43 (62.7%) for 285 yards, one touchdown and one interception. The team isn't going to ask him to do a lot with the offense because of the talent in the running game and on defense. However, he has talent at receiver, and he's a midrange QB2 in fantasy.

  • Posted: 8/25/2016 7:27pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian has already locked up the starting quarterback job, in the opinion of beat writer Jeff Legwold.

Huddle Up: If Siemian is officially named the starter, he will take the reins of an offense with plenty of weapons and could be worth a look in two-quarterback leagues.

  • Posted: 8/22/2016 12:34pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian will start Saturday, Aug. 27, against the Los Angeles Rams.

Huddle Up: It's Siemian's second consecutive start, and he seems to be the favorite right now to start Week 1 for Denver barring a major lapse this weekend. The Broncos' quarterback situation is not an enviable one, though, and none of them should be regarded as starters in traditional leagues.
