Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian completed 22 of his 32 pass attempts for 231 yards, four touchdowns and one interception in Week 2 against the Cowboys and he also ran five times for 14 yards.

Huddle Up: Siemian picked on a Dallas secondary missing Orlando Scandrick, using inexperienced players on the corners. He also benefited from the fact C.J. Anderson has been running hard and rolling up big numbers. He faces a tough matchup in Week 3 at Buffalo against a decent defense.

  • Posted: 9/12/2017 3:41am ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian was 17-for-28 for 219 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 24-21 win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday, Sept. 11. Siemian also threw one interception.

Huddle Up: Siemian weakened later in the game, but that was more of the Chargers offense coming down the field and finding holes in the Denver defense. With Paxton Lynch not 100 percent and Brock Osweiler a shade of what he once was, Siemian's spot is safe for now, and he will need more games like this to further harden the cement.

  • Posted: 8/21/2017 12:41pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian was more consistent in his ball placement and decision making than fellow QB Paxton Lynch, according to head coach Vance Joseph. Those qualities are what won Siemian the starting job.

Huddle Up: It was clear over the Broncos' first two preseason games that this was the case. Siemian simply made better throws, was less risk-averse and did not rely as much on his feet when reads weren't open. Siemian is Denver's starting quarterback, but that doesn't mean he's a starting fantasy quarterback.

  • Posted: 8/21/2017 10:45am ET

Updating previous reports, Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian has been anointed the starting quarterback position, a source told 104.3 The Fan's Brandon Stokley.

Huddle Up: Siemian probably doesn't have a ceiling as high as Paxton Lynch, and he's a pretty meager QB2 in fantasy. He'll have some spots where you can use him in matchups to cover bye weeks.

  • Posted: 8/10/2017 11:32am ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian said he's felt like the offense has been clicking for him lately, like a switch was suddenly flipped. Siemian said he's felt more comfortable in the new offense and feels that he's in a good spot right now under new offensive coordinator Mike McCoy.

Huddle Up: Siemian is in the thick of a quarterback battle with Paxton Lynch, so it's good that he's feeling more comfortable and has a better feel for the offense. Whoever wins the job is not a serious QB1 option, however.

  • Posted: 8/7/2017 10:32am ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian will start the preseason opener Thursday, Aug. 10.

Huddle Up: Siemian has the edge in the battle with Paxton Lynch for now, but he doesn't have a ton of upside in fantasy. He's a midrange QB2.

  • Posted: 8/6/2017 5:33pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian has won 'every single practice session' against QB Paxton Lynch, according to Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports.

Huddle Up: Siemian doesn't have much of a ceiling, but if he wins the starting job, the weapons in Denver should allow him to slip into the QB2 conversation.

  • Posted: 7/26/2017 11:06am ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian will receive the first snaps with the first-team offense during practice Thursday, July 27, but head coach Vance Joseph said that Siemian and QB Paxton Lynch will share snaps with the starters during the early part of training camp. Joseph said he would like to decide on a starting quarterback before the third preseason game but that is not a deadline for the decision.

Huddle Up: Owners will need to monitor the situation because the decision on the starting quarterback is likely a few weeks away. Both Siemian and Lynch received playing time in 2016, but Siemian appears to have the edge at this point. The winner of the competition will have a solid receiving corps to work with but should only be considered a No. 2 fantasy quarterback.

  • Posted: 7/11/2017 11:10am ET

Denver Broncos QBs Trevor Siemian, Paxton Lynch and others will attend a passing camp in Los Angeles prior to the start of training camp. Head coach Vance Joseph has reiterated that Siemian and Lynch are in the midst of a heated battle for the starting job.

Huddle Up: Whoever wins the job will assuredly deserve it, but they won't deserve a starting job on any fantasy rosters, aside from two-quarterback leagues. Even then, they should only be started in good matchups.

  • Posted: 6/13/2017 8:39pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) said he has not had any problems with his surgically repaired shoulder during practice.

Huddle Up: Siemian will be competing with Paxton Lynch for the starting quarterback job during training camp but may have the edge at this point. He threw for 3,401 yards and 18 touchdowns in 14 games in 2016 and will have a solid group of pass catchers to work with this season. Siemian should be considered a No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he wins the job.

  • Posted: 6/5/2017 8:21pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian has had 'more good days overall' than QB Paxton Lynch during organized team activity sessions, by 'all accounts.' Lynch, however, is coming off his best showing thus far in OTAs with his performance Monday, June 5.

Huddle Up: It's looking like Siemian will keep his hold on the starting quarterback job in Denver going into the new season, but Lynch at least is showing signs of progress after a disappointing rookie campaign in 2016. Either way, this isn't a situation to invest in concerning standard leagues with far better QB1 options available at various points in fantasy drafts.

  • Posted: 5/23/2017 11:06am ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian worked with the first-team offense on the first day of organized team activities Tuesday, May 23.

Huddle Up: Not a surprise, but second-year quarterback Paxton Lynch isn't too far behind. Lynch could be breathing down Siemian's neck all offseason, so keep an eye on this battle. For now, Siemian is only a bye-week replacement at best.

  • Posted: 5/21/2017 12:51pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian had little trouble holding off 2016 first-round pick Paxton Lynch last season, and 9News' Mike Klis would be 'surprised' if the quarterback competition plays out the same way this season.

Huddle Up: Siemian performed better than expected in his first season as the starter, especially considering he was dealing with a shoulder injury that required offseason surgery for a good part of it. Lynch is said to be much further along than he was as a rookie, and new head coach Vance Joseph has said the quarterback competition is one he hopes go down to the wire. Siemian should be considered the favorite for now, but he figures to be on a fairly short leash.

  • Posted: 5/18/2017 11:36am ET

Denver Broncos QBs Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch will need to make good decisions in order to win the starting position, according to head coach Vance Joseph. 'The guy who makes great decisions with the football, not turning the ball over, and the guy who lets his teammates play for him, that's the guy I want to lead our football team,' Joseph said. '[Decisions-making] is the biggest factor in this decision I'm going to make.'

Huddle Up: Overall, Siemian made mostly productive decisions in his first season as starter last year. Lynch may be more prone to turnovers since he is just in his second season, but he's still in a good position to win the starting gig. As has been said previously, though, neither one of these guys deserves the starting nod for fantasy purposes except for as a bye-week replacement.

  • Posted: 4/26/2017 12:28pm ET

Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph said he expects the competition between QBs Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch to last for a long time because both players are working hard.

Huddle Up: The Broncos likely will not make a decision until some point during the preseason, so Siemian and Lynch will have time to show the coaches what they could do in the offense. The winner of the competition will have a solid group of receivers to work with, but owners should consider Siemian or Lynch as a No. 2 fantasy quarterback.

  • Posted: 4/13/2017 12:54pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian admitted that he needs to throw the ball sooner in order to protect himself.

Huddle Up: Siemian is still quite young and was in his first season as a starting quarterback last year, so we'll give him a pass. He'll need to fend off Paxton Lynch to make it as a starter in 2017, and whoever starts should not be drafted as a QB1.

  • Posted: 4/10/2017 12:20pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) is a full participant as organized team activities commence Monday, April 10, according to head coach Vance Joseph. Siemian has been going through shoulder rehabilitation this offseason.

Huddle Up: Siemian held his own in his first season as a starter last year, but he has not proven himself as a starting fantasy quarterback. He's not even guaranteed the starting position this year with Paxton Lynch also competing for the spot.

  • Posted: 4/8/2017 1:55pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian appears to have the upper hand over QB Paxton Lynch in the starting quarterback competition entering offseason workouts, according to NFL Network's James Palmer.

Huddle Up: Both Siemian and Lynch received starts in 2016, but Siemian received a majority of the playing time at the position. Owners will need to monitor the situation throughout the offseason because the winner of the job will have a solid receiving corps to work with in the passing game. Owners in most leagues should consider Siemian or Lynch a No. 2 quarterback.

  • Posted: 4/6/2017 6:28am ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian's biggest hurdle this offseason is to know when to get rid of the ball, not take so many hits or take risks with throws outside the numbers. Opposing defensive coaches have said he has the demeanor in the pocket that's tough to face because he makes quick decisions without being rushed in his reads. They also have said his willingness to fit the ball in tight spaces and throw with anticipation gives him the look of a starter.

Huddle Up: Siemian will battle Paxton Lynch for the starting job, but one has to think that Siemian has a leg up in the competition. Siemian is coming off surgery on his non-throwing shoulder, but he should be good to go. He'll be a midrange QB2 in fantasy drafts with some upside.

  • Posted: 3/9/2017 12:08pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) is not on the trading block, according to NFL Network's James Palmer. Siemian was seen Thursday, March 9, at the Broncos' training facility working on shoulder rehab.

Huddle Up: Siemian has some upside if Denver can protect the young quarterback. His fantasy future remains foggy, given all of the rumors swirling about with Tony Romo. Siemian would be a weak QB2 if he is named the starter.

  • Posted: 3/8/2017 6:27pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian could be on the New York Jets' radar if the Broncos are able to land Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo, who has been told he will be released by the team Thursday, March 9, in the opinion of USA Today's Tom Pelissero.

Huddle Up: Siemian offered mostly competent quarterback play in 2016, but he would be leaving behind a receiving corps led by Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders for a team in the midst of a roster overhaul which could conceivably start Quincy Enunwa and Robby Anderson in Week 1 if Eric Decker is released at some point. Siemian is already a midrange QB2 in Denver, so his stock would plummet even further in the Big Apple, where he would likely serve as a bridge quarterback.

  • Posted: 2/28/2017 5:36pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) was diagnosed with a Grade 5 left shoulder separation by Dr. Neal ElAttrache after undergoing surgery in early January. It had been previously reported Siemian had a Grade 3 separation in the AC joint.

Huddle Up: Siemian's timeline hasn't changed, as he is still expected to need four to six months to completely recover. He is expected to be limited when the Broncos begin their offseason conditioning program in April, but it appears he could be ready for the team's OTAs, which begin in May and land right in the middle of his recovery timetable. Siemian is projected to start over Paxton Lynch again in 2017, but both could face competition from a free-agent signing.

  • Posted: 2/25/2017 6:45pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) is out of his sling and is optimistic he will be ready for OTAs, but an exam next month will help determine an exact timetable for his return.

Huddle Up: If healthy, Siemian should have a great chance at breaking camp as Denver's starter. If he does start in 2017, he should be viewed as a QB2.

  • Posted: 2/24/2017 12:02pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) is unlikely to practice fully until training camp as he recovers left shoulder surgery, according to Brandon Stokley of 104.3 The Fan.

Huddle Up: Siemian is expected to be ready for OTAs, but it is obvious the Broncos will exercise extreme caution with him after 2016 first-round draft pick Paxton Lynch looked overwhelmed in limited action as a rookie last season. The uncertainly atop Denver's depth chart heading into free agency may be enough to convince the front office to sign a capable veteran backup. Siemian is a middling fantasy QB2 at best.

  • Posted: 2/2/2017 8:49pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) said his rehab is progressing well and his arm will be out of a sling in a couple of more weeks.

Huddle Up: Siemian is expected to battle Paxton Lynch for the starting job in 2017, but if he breaks camp as the starter, he can be drafted as a QB2.

  • Posted: 1/5/2017 7:33pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) underwent successful shoulder surgery on his left shoulder Thursday, Jan. 5.

Huddle Up: If Siemian can hold off Paxton Lynch and remain the starter in Denver, he will be a midrange QB2 in 2017.

  • Posted: 1/3/2017 5:30am ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) will have surgery on his left shoulder this week, and he'll be ready for offseason workouts in April. 'It's optional surgery,'' Siemian said. 'It really only bothers me when I work out but I figure I'm going to have to keep working out for a while so I'm getting it fixed.''

Huddle Up: All things considered, Siemian probably exceeded expectations this season with 3,401 passing yards, 18 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. There is room to grow for the 25-year-old. He'll be a QB2 next season that could have upside to slip into the low-end QB1 area.

  • Posted: 12/29/2016 7:57pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (foot) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Dec. 29.

Huddle Up: Siemian is expected to split time with Paxton Lynch in Week 17, so he needs to be avoided in all formats.

  • Posted: 12/25/2016 9:02pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian completed 17 of his 43 pass attempts for 183 yards and an interception in a 33-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday, Dec. 25.

Huddle Up: After torching the Chiefs the first time around, Siemian looked overmatched in this one. The Denver offense continues to struggle, and Siemian will be no more than a QB2 in Week 17.

  • Posted: 12/23/2016 6:24pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (foot, hip) was a full participant in practice Friday, Dec. 23, and is not listed on the Week 16 injury report.

Huddle Up: Siemian has struggled to put the ball in the end zone the last two weeks, but a Week 16 matchup against a Kansas City defense he torched to the tune of 368 yards and three touchdowns the first time around could bring an end to the slump. He could be a sleeper QB1 this weekend.

  • Posted: 12/21/2016 7:00pm ET

The Denver Broncos believe QB Trevor Siemian has led the offense to just one touchdown in the past 10 quarters, but he is steadily gaining more respect from the defense as well as the coaching staff. His calm demeanor and ability to overcome typical mistakes as a first-year starter has management thinking long term, according to NFL Network's James Palmer. 'Talking to people in the building, the thought process is that even though they picked (QB Paxton Lynch) in the first round, (Siemian) is in mind to be the guy moving forward for the next couple of seasons.'

Huddle Up: Siemian surprised by winning the starting job in training camp and the preseason, beating out veteran Mark Sanchez and Lynch. Now, it appears he has done a good enough job to be considered heading into 2017 and beyond.

  • Posted: 12/15/2016 7:28pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (foot) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Dec. 15.

Huddle Up: Siemian has had some big games in recent weeks, but a tough matchup against New England in Week 15 pushes him into QB2 territory.

  • Posted: 12/13/2016 5:51pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian is one of three quarterbacks to average at least 300 passing yards since Week 8. He has averaged 303.8 yards in that span. Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins (341.5) and New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (312.0) are the other two.

Huddle Up: Siemian has been forced to throw more late in the season due to underperforming running back play. He'd been impressive for the most part in his first season as starter, but he's not a recommended start in the fantasy playoffs this week against a tougher New England Patriots pass defense.

  • Posted: 12/11/2016 6:44pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (foot) was able to start in Week 14 against the Tennessee Titans, and he completed 35 of his 51 pass attempts for 334 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions.

Huddle Up: Siemian did not make any mistakes, but he also didn't do much outside of the decent yardage total. He remains more of a QB2 in most fantasy leagues when healthy.

  • Posted: 12/9/2016 10:55am ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (foot) is 'progressing toward playing' in Week 14 against the Tennessee Titans, although it is far from a certainty, according to 9News' Mike Klis.

Huddle Up: The fantasy fortunes of Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders rely heavily on Siemian's return, as rookie Paxton Lynch has looked overwhelmed in his first two career starts. Klis suggested whatever improvement Siemian can make in his mobility over the next two days will likely be key to his activation. Given the struggles of the Titans' pass defense, Siemian will be a high-upside QB2 and solid contrarian DFS option should he play.

  • Posted: 12/7/2016 10:53pm ET

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (foot) will practice Thursday, Dec. 8, head coach Gary Kubiak said Wednesday, Dec. 7. The coach told reporters both Siemian and QB Paxton Lynch will get ready to play in Week 14.

Huddle Up: It's too early to say if Siemian will be ready to play, but he is best used as a QB2 in most fantasy formats when healthy.

  • Posted: 12/2/2016 11:10am ET

Updating a previous story, Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (foot) has been ruled out for Week 13 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Rookie Paxton Lynch will make his second career start in his absence.

Huddle Up: It's too bad for Siemian, who enjoyed a great game last week against the Kansas City Chiefs after finally getting over the sprained left shoulder joint he suffered in Week 4. Lynch's presence under center is a downgrade for receivers Demaryius Thomas as well as Emmanuel Sanders, although the rookie should be expected to perform better than he did in his first career start against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 5.

  • Posted: 12/2/2016 10:48am ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (foot) is not expected to practice Friday, Dec. 2, and unlikely to play Week 13 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Huddle Up: Siemian is dealing with a sprained foot, so there is no guarantee he'll be ready to go next week either. The Northwestern product was coming off one of his best games of the season and his absence will be a downgrade for receivers Demaryius Thomas as well as Emmanuel Sanders. First-round rookie Paxton Lynch will get the start if Siemian is ruled out for certain later today.

  • Posted: 12/1/2016 6:33am ET

Updating previous reports, Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (foot) could start in Week 13 even if he's unable to practice during the week, according to head coach Gary Kubiak.

Huddle Up: He has a tough matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars this week, and with the injury concerns, he's someone to avoid in most leagues. He could be worth a DFS shot in the dark but little more.

  • Posted: 11/25/2016 9:16pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian looks 'fresh' and is moving around like he did the first few weeks of the season, according to head coach Gary Kubiak.

Huddle Up: It doesn't matter how well Siemian looks to Kubiak, he is a QB2 for fantasy purposes.

  • Posted: 11/13/2016 2:54pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian suffered through two interceptions Sunday, Nov. 13, against the New Orleans Saints, but he finished with 258 yards and two touchdowns in a 25-23 win.

Huddle Up: Siemian came through in a big game when Denver needed him to excel, and that's a big thing for his fantasy owners. He's becoming a decent QB1 option for teams.

  • Posted: 11/10/2016 8:21pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Nov. 10.

Huddle Up: Siemian's production has left a lot to be desired, but a favorable Week 10 matchup against the Saints makes him a potential DFS sleeper.

  • Posted: 11/4/2016 5:18pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 4, and is not on the injury report for Week 9.

Huddle Up: Siemian is coming off a 276-yard performance in his last game but has only two touchdowns in the last three games. Owners in most leagues should be able to find better options to use, but Siemian may be a bye week replacement in deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 11/3/2016 7:47pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) was a full participant at practice for the second straight day Thursday, Nov. 3.

Huddle Up: Siemian is in no danger of missing Denver's Week 9 tilt with the Oakland Raiders, but owners can do better for a QB1 in most leagues. The former seventh-round draft pick has just one touchdown pass in three games since returning from the injury that sidelined him in Week 5.

  • Posted: 11/2/2016 4:37pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Nov. 2.

Huddle Up: Siemian has posted decent numbers so far this season with eight touchdowns and four interceptions but has thrown for at least 250 yards in only three games. He should be considered as a No. 2 quarterback in most leagues but could be a bye week replacement in deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 10/30/2016 8:36pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian completed 20 of his 38 pass attempts for 276 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in the Week 8 game against the San Diego Chargers.

Huddle Up: Siemian's yardage total was his highest since Week 3, but he failed to throw for at least one touchdown for the second time this season. He remains more of a QB2 in most fantasy leagues, although he isn't a bad streaming option against a bad Oakland pass defense if you need a bye-week replacement or low-priced DFS option in Week 9.

  • Posted: 10/28/2016 1:17pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 28, and is not on the injury report for Week 8.

Huddle Up: Siemian has thrown at least one touchdown in each of the last four games but has been held to under 250 yards in four of his six starts this season. Siemian could be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in deeper leagues as a bye week replacement, but owners in most leagues can find better options.

  • Posted: 10/26/2016 3:13pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Oct. 26.

Huddle Up: Siemian has mostly been a game manager for the Broncos in 2016. He has done enough to win games and has avoided costly mistakes for the most part. Even with C.J. Anderson out, though, Siemian remains a backup fantasy quarterback.

  • Posted: 10/25/2016 5:52pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian has been given more freedom to make decisions at the line of scrimmage, according to head coach Gary Kubiak.

Huddle Up: Apparently Siemian is using that freedom to hand the ball off more. The Broncos found great success in the ground game Monday night with C.J. Anderson and Devontae Booker. Siemian has held his own in his first season as a starter, but he won't be in the QB1 conversation any time soon.

  • Posted: 10/24/2016 8:50pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian completed 14 of his 25 pass attempts for 157 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in the Week 7 game against the Houston Texans Monday, Oct. 24.

Huddle Up: Siemian has tossed at least one touchdown in each of his past four games, and five of six this season, but his yardage totals have been mediocre at best. He is best used as a low-end QB2 in leagues which require two signal callers, and fantasy leagues as a bye-week replacement.
