The Dallas Cowboys will release QB Rudy Carpenter, WR Tim Benford and LB Orie Lemon.

Huddle Up: Carpenter is gone, but that doesn't necessarily mean that Stephen McGee will return for a fourth season as a clipboard holder. The Cowboys signed veteran Kyle Orton to back up starter Tony Romo, and they may allocate that extra roster spot to another position rather than keep a third QB.
