Free-agent RB Isaac Redman (back) said he is no longer able to play football after suffering a spinal cord injury in 2013.

Huddle Up: Not the ideal ending to any career, and we wish the former Steeler better fortune in his future endeavors.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Isaac Redman, the team's Week 1 starter at running back, is now listed as fourth on the depth chart behind RBs Felix Jones, Le'Veon Bell (foot) and Jonathan Dwyer, in that order. Jones is the team's leading rusher with 71 yards and is averaging 4.2 yards per carry. Bell is expected to play in Week 4 against the Minnesota Vikings, but they'll likely ease him back into the mix.

Huddle Up: Redman was given the first crack at the starting job, but didn't exactly run with the opportunity, gaining all of 12 yards on 10 carries, catching 4 passes for 14 yards and losing a fumble to top it all off. He's fallen way off the fantasy radar and figures to remain there for the duration of season.

Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Steelers RB Isaac Redman (concussion) passed all concussion protocol and he was cleared to return to the Week 2 game against the Cincinnati Bengals Monday, Sept. 16. He took a blow to the helmet on the opening kickoff, and Felix Jones got the start at RB.

Huddle Up: The injury issues continue for the Steelers as Redman is filling in for injured rookie Le'Veon Bell. Jones and Jonathan Dwyer are next up on the depth chart.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Isaac Redman will get the start at running back in the team's Week 2 game, according to head coach Mike Tomlin.

Huddle Up: In standard-scoring leagues, Redman contributed a negative-2 in Week 1 thanks to his red-zone fumble that more than negated his 9 carries for 8 yards and 1 catch for 7 more. The Steelers as a whole rushed for all of 32 yards on 15 carries, and will try and right the ship Monday night against the Bengals. Redman, though, doesn't belong in anyone's fantasy lineup until some of the issues are straightened out.

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Heath Miller (knee) will see his workload increase in practice this week, according to head coach Mike Tomlin.

Huddle Up: The Steelers need all hands on deck following their disastrous 195-yard, 9-point effort in the season-opening loss to the Titans, but Miller likely remains at least a week or 2 away from returning to game action.

Pittsburgh Steelers RBs Isaac Redman, Felix Jones and LaRod Stephens-Howling are expected to share playing time until RB Le'Veon Bell is able to recover from his foot injury.

Huddle Up: With Jonathan Dwyer's somewhat-surprising release, Redman is clearly the PIT RB you want and his stock is on the rise. he made 5 starts last season, finished second on the team in rushing (410 yards) and led all Steeler backs with 19 catches for 244 yards.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday, Aug. 27, that RB Isaac Redman will miss a third straight preseason game Thursday, Aug. 29. Redman feels that being sat out is a sign the head coach plans to use him in Week 1. 'If they're throwing you out there in a preseason game and making you play and compete when you're injured, that's not a good sign,' Redman said. 'To sit you and give you that rest you need to come in for Week 1, it tells you a lot about what they think of you.'

Huddle Up: A pinched nerve has kept Redman off the field, and with the Steelers thin at running back it makes sense not to risk him heading into the regular season. It still looks like an RBBC in Pittsburgh, with Jonathan Dwyer joining Redman and either LaRod Stephens-Howling or Felix Jones adding the change-of-pace element.
