San Francisco 49ers RB Tevin Coleman's two-year contract is worth $8.5 million. He will receive $3.6 million in the first year of the deal with no signing bonus. A maximum of $10.6 million can be earned with incentives.

  • Posted: 3/13/2019 2:55pm ET

Free-agent RB Tevin Coleman (Falcons) agreed to terms on a two-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers Wednesday, March 13, worth $10 million, according to a source.

Huddle Up: Coleman has played for head coach Kyle Shanahan before but is role is uncertain with Jerick McKinnon and Matt Breida on the roster. He could be a No. 2 running back in some fantasy leagues if he shares with only one back, but all bets are off if this is a three-way approach.

  • Posted: 3/1/2019 9:09am ET

Atlanta Falcons RB and impending free agent Tevin Coleman is not expected to be retained in Atlanta with the team having too many other needs. 'Tevin's going to do well, wherever he is,' Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff said Wednesday, Feb. 27, at his NFL Scouting Combine news conference.

Huddle Up: With fellow RB Devonta Freeman injured and out most of the season, Coleman led the Falcons with 800 rushing yards and totaled 1,076 yards from scrimmage and nine TDs. However, he was a fantasy disappointment down the stretch with only three TDs and only one 86-total-yard-plus contest among his final eight games, and it's safe to say he's likely better as a complementary back in a timeshare rather than a leading man.

  • Posted: 1/28/2019 4:54pm ET

Atlanta Falcons impending free-agent RB Tevin Coleman may not re-sign with the Falcons this offseason since the Falcons have RB Devonta Freeman under contract through the 2022 season, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Vaughn McClure.

Huddle Up: Coleman rushed for 800 yards this season and also posted 276 receiving yards in 16 games. He may be able to find a starting job if he hits the free-agent market, so owners should monitor his situation during the offseason. He has a chance to be a No. 2 fantasy running back next season depending on his situation.

  • Posted: 12/30/2018 6:03pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed eight times for 45 yards and a touchdown and caught one pass for nine yards in a 34-32 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 17.

Huddle Up: Coleman didn't step up as much as expected this season after Devonta Freeman went down with an injury, but he should still be one of the more popular running backs when free agency begins. If he ends up as a lead back somewhere, RB2 production is possible next season.

  • Posted: 12/28/2018 10:30am ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (groin) will play in Week 17 versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Huddle Up: There is some initial speculation Coleman may not play in the season finale, but that doesn't appear to be the case. He should be the clear lead back for as long as he and/or the Falcons want him to play, but it also would not be surprising if backup Brian Hill saw just as much work (and possibly more) than he does in what could be Coleman's final game with Atlanta before departing as a free agent this spring.

  • Posted: 12/27/2018 2:38pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (groin) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 27.

Huddle Up: Coleman's status for Week 17 is still uncertain but may need to practice Friday, Dec. 28, if he wants a chance to play. Brian Hill probably would receive a majority of the work at running back if Coleman is ruled out and has a chance to be a flex option in standard leagues.

  • Posted: 12/26/2018 2:33pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (groin) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 26.

Huddle Up: Coleman was injured in last Sunday's game in Carolina and he is a question mark for the season finale. If he is unable to go, Brian Hill might be leaned upon heavily in Week 17 with Ito Smith done for the season.

  • Posted: 12/24/2018 12:32pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (groin) has a good chance to play in the season finale despite suffering a strained groin in Week 16, according to head coach Dan Quinn.

Huddle Up: Coleman ran well before being hurt. Brian Hill took over and ran for a career-high 115 yards. Hill can be added off waivers for those still playing. If Coleman is limited at all or suffers a setback then Hill would be startable.

  • Posted: 12/23/2018 12:42pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (groin) suffered a groin injury during the Week 16 game and is considered questionable to return.

Huddle Up: Owners will need to monitor the situation to see if Coleman is in danger of missing the Week 17 game. He should be a starting fantasy option if he plays, but owners will need other options available.

  • Posted: 12/16/2018 3:48pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman ran 11 times for 145 yards and a touchdown in the Week 15 win against the Arizona Cardinals. He didn't catch his lone target.

Huddle Up: While the 145 yards and a score are nice stats to see, it remains alarming Coleman had just 11 touches. He was good for 125 offensive yards in the earlier meeting with the Carolina Panthers, Atlanta's Week 16 opponent. Utilize him as a flex or low-end RB2 in deeper formats.

  • Posted: 12/9/2018 2:43pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed 10 times for 45 yards in Week 14 against the Green Bay Packers and he added one grab for four yards on his only target.

Huddle Up: Coleman had a total of 11 touches to 14 for Ito Smith, which isn't great for his short-term fantasy appeal. If he takes a backseat to Smith he would be more of a low-end RB3 or flex fantasy option in deeper leagues only. The Falcons host the Cardinals in Week 15.

  • Posted: 12/2/2018 5:25pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed six times for eight yards and caught one pass for three yards in a 26-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 13.

Huddle Up: Coleman has been held to 14 rushing yards on 14 carries over the last two weeks, and Atlanta's offense is falling apart. It wouldn't be a shock to see Ito Smith see more work going forward, and Coleman has become a risky flex play.

  • Posted: 11/22/2018 8:43pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed eight times for six yards and caught three of his four targets for 17 yards and a touchdown in a 31-17 loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 12.

Huddle Up: Coleman somewhat salvaged an ugly line with a garbage time receiving score. He hasn't had a big rushing performance in several weeks, but he sees enough touches to remain a volume-based RB2.

  • Posted: 11/18/2018 2:05pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed for 58 yards on eight carries against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 11. He also caught three passes for 27 yards during the game.

Huddle Up: Coleman has been sharing carries with Ito Smith but is still part of passing game, which helps his fantasy value. He should receive around 10 to 15 touches in Week 12 and can be a No. 2 running back or flex option.

  • Posted: 11/11/2018 1:09pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed for 44 yards on 11 carries against the Cleveland Browns in Week 10. He also caught three passes for 19 yards during the game.

Huddle Up: Coleman has been a part of the running and passing game this season and likely will continue to share playing time with Ito Smith moving forward. He can be at least a flex option next week against the Dallas Cowboys.

  • Posted: 11/10/2018 7:13pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman faces the Cleveland Browns in Week 10, and the Browns have allowed an NFL-high 14 rushing touchdowns this season.

Huddle Up: Coleman has four touchdowns in the last three games coming into Week 10, and he has a golden opportunity to add to the total against Cleveland. He can be a high-end RB2, especially in PPR formats.

  • Posted: 11/4/2018 5:17pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed 13 times for 88 yards and caught five passes for 68 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-14 win over the Washington Redskins in Week 9.

Huddle Up: It was Coleman's best rushing performance since Week 2, and he now has four touchdowns in his last three games. He'll be a RB2 candidate against the Cleveland Browns in Week 10.

  • Posted: 10/22/2018 8:40pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed 11 times for 50 yards and a 30-yard rushing score in Week 7 against the New York Giants on Monday, Oct. 22, and he added two receptions for 32 yards.

Huddle Up: Coleman's rushing average would have been dismal if not for his big scoring run. Fantasy owners will need to make alternate plans with the Falcons off in Week 8.

  • Posted: 10/14/2018 7:57pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed 10 times for 35 yards and caught one pass for six yards in a 34-29 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6.

Huddle Up: Coleman hasn't exactly stood out during Devonta Freeman's absence, but until Freeman returns, he will have RB2 potential on volume alone.

  • Posted: 10/7/2018 1:26pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed for 15 yards on seven carries against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 5. He also caught two passes for 15 yards during the game.

Huddle Up: Coleman appeared to have a good matchup this week but did not have much success against the Steelers. He should have another good matchup next week and can be a flex option in most fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 10/5/2018 11:36am ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (shin) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 5, and is not on the injury report for Week 5.

Huddle Up: Coleman will lose some touches with Devonta Freeman back in the lineup, but he still has a solid role in the offense. He can be at least a flex option for owners because of his favorable matchup.

  • Posted: 10/4/2018 1:50pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (shin) was able to practice fully Thursday, Oct. 4.

Huddle Up: Coleman's value takes a hit this week with the return of Devonta Freeman, but he shouldn't be altogether dismissed. He's an RB2 or flex consideration in scrumptious Week 5 matchup.

  • Posted: 10/3/2018 3:43pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (shin) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 3.

Huddle Up: Coleman likely will lose the starting job with Devonta Freeman expected to play, but he should still have a solid role in the offense. He can be a low-end No. 2 running back or a flex option for fantasy owners.

  • Posted: 9/30/2018 2:55pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed 14 times for 51 yards in Week 4 against the Cincinnati Bengals and he added three receptions for 26 yards on three targets.

Huddle Up: Coleman has averaged 15 rushes and 18 touches over the past three games, handling a lion's share of the backfield touches with Devonta Freeman (knee) on the shelf. Despite the increased workload he hasn't really been a fantasy stud. He is still only worth using as an RB3 or flex fantasy option as long as Freeman is on the shelf. The Falcons travel to meet the Steelers in Week 5.

  • Posted: 9/23/2018 4:32pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed 15 times for just 33 yards in Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints and he registered two catches for 14 yards and a score.

Huddle Up: Coleman was mostly bottled up in the backfield, salvaging the stat line for fantasy owners with the receiving touchdown. He was serving as the primary back for the second straight weekend with Devonta Freeman (knee) sidelined again. The Falcons host the Bengals, and Coleman is a decent RB3 or flex fantasy option if he starts again, as Carolina's Christian McCaffrey shredded the Cincy rush D in Week 3.

  • Posted: 9/16/2018 2:53pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed 16 times for 107 yards in the Week 2 win against the Carolina Panthers while adding four receptions for 18 yards.

Huddle Up: Coleman was getting a chance to handle the full workload with Devonta Freeman (knee) on the shelf. As long as Freeman is sidelined it appears Coleman has RB2 fantasy value in all leagues. The Falcons will host the Saints in Week 3.

  • Posted: 9/6/2018 9:58pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman gained 45 total yards (19 rushing, 26 receiving) and scored the team's lone touchdown during their 18-12 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1.

Huddle Up: Thirty-five of Coleman's 45 yards came on two plays, leaving just 10 yards for his other eight touches. Despite being bottled up most of the game it was Coleman that found the end zone, and word of Devonta Freeman hurting his knee could thrust Coleman into a larger role. Monitor Freeman's condition and be ready to elevate Coleman to must-start status if Freeman misses games.

  • Posted: 5/30/2018 3:50pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman said the team 'wants' to use him more, like line him up out wide and 'stuff like that.' Head coach Dan Quinn confirmed this, adding how they want to get both running backs 'really involved' in the passing game. He also thought Coleman made a 'big jump' last season.

Huddle Up: Coleman will be entering a contract year, so he'll certainly be extra motivated to outperform his first three years in the league. It's worth noting that Coleman's touches have increased in each of his seasons, starting with 89 as a rookie before recording 149 and 163 touches, respectively, over the last two years. Still, though, with Devonta Freeman around, Coleman is more of a FLEX option to target.
