Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (concussion) will not play in Week 15 versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Huddle Up: It should be the Devonta Freeman show on Monday night, but the Falcons haven't always been willing to treat him as a featured back. Either way, he should be a near-lock for 20 touches in a good matchup against a defense missing at least two key front-seven players in Lavonte David and DT Gerald McCoy. Freeman should be in all fantasy lineups this weekend.

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (concussion) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 15.

Huddle Up: Coleman will need to be cleared by doctors before he is allowed to play, so owners will need to monitor the situation. He is a risky option since the Falcons play on Monday Night Football, so owners may want to use other options in their lineups this week.

  • Posted: 12/14/2017 3:35pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (concussion) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 14.

Huddle Up: Coleman had to depart late in the club's win over the Saints last Thursday, and it appears like at the moment that he won't be ready in time to return on Monday night, as he's still in the concussion protocol. That means Devonta Freeman will be locked in with an even bigger workload than usual, making him one of the more enticing RB1 options of the week.

  • Posted: 12/14/2017 9:43am ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (concussion) remains in the concussion protocol Thursday, Dec. 14, according to head coach Dan Quinn.

Huddle Up: Friday will be a big day for Coleman, but Devonta Freeman could have just that against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers if Coleman is out.

  • Posted: 12/8/2017 10:55am ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (concussion) was placed in the league's concussion protocol Friday, Dec. 8.

Huddle Up: Coleman suffered the injury of late in Thursday's win over the New Orleans Saints, but he will have 10 days to recover as the Falcons do not play again until Monday Night Football to wrap up Week 15. Devonta Freeman enjoyed a 24-9 advantage in touches over Coleman in Week 14 and projects for even more work versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers if Coleman is not cleared in time.

  • Posted: 12/7/2017 8:58pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed nine times for 32 yards in a 20-17 win over the New Orleans Saints Thursday, Dec. 7.

Huddle Up: Coleman has just 17 carries for 54 yards in the two games since Devonta Freeman returned to the lineup, and Coleman is back to being a flex option for fantasy owners.

  • Posted: 12/3/2017 1:50pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed for 22 yards on eight carries against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 13. He also caught three passes for 27 yards during the game.

Huddle Up: Coleman returned to his normal role on offense with Devonta Freeman back in the lineup and will be involved in the running and passing game moving forward. He can be a flex option in point-per-reception leagues next week.

  • Posted: 11/26/2017 1:56pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed for 97 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 12.

Huddle Up: Coleman received most of the work at running back with Devonta Freeman out and could have a similar role next week if Foreman remains sidelined. He should be considered a No. 2 running back or a flex option in all leagues if he starts.

  • Posted: 11/20/2017 8:59pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman managed 20 carries for 43 yards and a touchdown in the team's Week 11 victory Monday, Nov. 20, versus the Seattle Seahawks. He also added one catch for 15 yards.

Huddle Up: Thanks to a one-yard touchdown plunge in the first quarter, Coleman was able to deliver a worthwhile outing for his fantasy owners in the absence of Devonta Freeman (concussion). However, owners shouldn't get too comfortable in rolling with the 24-year-old, as there's a good chance Freeman returns to action in Week 12. If that's the case, Coleman would be tough deploying outside the deepest formats.

  • Posted: 11/15/2017 3:59pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman might be called upon to start in Week 11 against the Seattle Seahawks with RB Devonta Freeman (concussion) uncertain. Head coach Dan Quinn said Wednesday, Nov. 15, that the team is confident in Coleman's ability to shoulder the load.

Huddle Up: Coleman, who hasn't lost a fumble in 30 games, might be the workhorse against the Seattle Seahawks. While it's not a particularly attractive fantasy matchup, he is a decent low-end RB2 or flex option if Freeman is inactive.

  • Posted: 11/13/2017 8:17am ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman figures to see a larger role with RB Devonta Freeman (concussion) expected to miss Week 11.

Huddle Up: Coleman doesn't have the greatest matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. However, he figures to see heavy work and should be in the RB1 discussion. Terron Ward could also be used as a flex play if you have to cover an injury.

  • Posted: 11/5/2017 2:14pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed five times for just five yards in Week 9 against the Carolina Panthers, but he was able to salvage the line with a 19-yard touchdown on his only reception.

Huddle Up: Defense was the rule in Charlotte, as the Panthers entered No. 4 in the NFL in rushing defense and looked the part. Coleman remains more of a RB3 or flex option heading into Week 10 against the visiting Cowboys.

  • Posted: 10/29/2017 1:19pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed for 82 yards on 14 carries against the New York Jets in Week 8. He also caught one pass for 22 yards during the game.

Huddle Up: Coleman received the most touches among the running backs during the game and rebounded after a few disappointing performances. He should receive a similar role next week and could be a flex option in most leagues.

  • Posted: 10/27/2017 1:23pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (knee) took part in a full practice session Friday, Oct. 27, and he was removed from the injury report for Week 8 against the New York Jets.

Huddle Up: It will be fire and ice again for the Falcons, as Devonta Freeman and Coleman look to keep the Jets rush defense down. New York is allowing 126.6 yards per game on the ground, so Coleman is a solid RB3 or flex play in standard formats, and a low-end RB2 in PPR.

  • Posted: 10/26/2017 2:20pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 26.

Huddle Up: Coleman should have a good chance to play in Week 8, but owners should check on his status later in the week. He has been pretty quiet over the last two weeks but is still a fantasy option most weeks because of his involvement in the running and passing game. Owners can consider him a flex option in most leagues.

  • Posted: 10/25/2017 2:11pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (knee) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 25.

Huddle Up: We'll see what Coleman's status is throughout the rest of the week, but he could receive a questionable designation heading into the weekend if the limited status persists. If active he's a solid low-end RB2 or flex in a favorable matchup against the New York Jets.

  • Posted: 10/23/2017 4:43am ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman ran six times for 16 yards in his team's loss to the New England Patriots in Week 7.

Huddle Up: Coleman has been more of a short-yardage back in recent weeks, and no one really had success against the Patriots in terms of rushing scores. Keep Coleman as an RB3 or flex option heading into Week 8.

  • Posted: 10/15/2017 2:01pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed nine times for 32 yards and a touchdown in Week 6 against the Miami Dolphins and he added one catch for four yards on his only target.

Huddle Up: Coleman visited the end zone for the first time since Week 2 against the Packers. He continues to receive about 10-13 total touches per week and remains a decent RB3 or flex play in most fantasy leagues heading into Week 7 against the New England Patriots.

  • Posted: 10/1/2017 4:31pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman carried nine times for a team-high 79 yards in Week 4 against the Buffalo Bills and he added four catches for a team-best 65 yards on six targets.

Huddle Up: Coleman's fantasy owners can't really complain, as he did a great job despite not getting into the end zone. He was counted upon more in the passing game with Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu tapping out early due to injuries. He is a solid fantasy option, particularly in PPR formats, but the Falcons are off for their bye in Week 5.

  • Posted: 9/24/2017 4:01pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman carried the ball six times for 46 yards Sunday, Sept. 24, in a 30-26 win over the Detroit Lions.

Huddle Up: Coleman didn't score this week, but he did post similar numbers to that of Week 2. Freeman is definitely the No. 1 back in Atlanta, but Coleman's performance rates him an RB3 or flex option.

  • Posted: 9/17/2017 9:53pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed six times for 42 yards in Week 2 against the Packers and he added two receptions for three yards and a touchdown.

Huddle Up: Coleman is a decent RB3 or flex fantasy option in PPR formats, but his fantasy appeal is rather limited as long as Devonta Freeman is healthy and seeing a majority of the backfield touches. The Falcons travel to meet the Lions in Week 3.

  • Posted: 9/10/2017 3:35pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed eight times for 16 yards in Week 2 against the Bears and he had four grabs for 42 yards on six targets.

Huddle Up: Coleman had 12 touches to 14 for Devonta Freeman, so it was almost an even split. However, unless Freeman suffers some sort of injury to keep him out, Coleman is mostly a low-end RB2 in PPR formats and an RB3 or flex option in standard leagues. The Falcons host the Packers in Week 2.

  • Posted: 8/22/2017 6:21pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman led all qualifying running backs (at least 120 touches) in overall efficiency in 2016. Coleman ranked first of 42 running backs in aggregate ratings for standard fantasy points per game, scoring efficiency per touch, fantasy points per touch, and PPR fantasy points per touch. He finished third in yards per touch and 13th in PPR fantasy points per game. Coleman scored 11 total times on 149 offensive touches.

Huddle Up: A new offensive coordinator is the only noteworthy change for Coleman entering 2017. The Falcons should be in good shape offensively even after losing playcaller Kyle Shanahan. A drop-off can be expected, but Coleman is still a fine RB3/flex in most setups. He does enough of everything -- and well, at that -- to warrant a midround pick in any scoring system.

  • Posted: 2/8/2017 5:03pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed for six of his eight touchdowns on the road this season. He also recorded two of his three receiving touchdowns on the road.

Huddle Up: Coleman was not the starting running back this season but received plenty of work in the offense. He probably will have a similar role for the Falcons in 2017 and can be considered a No. 3 in most leagues and a No. 2 running back in some deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 2/7/2017 11:14am ET

Updating a previous report, Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (ankle) will not need surgery on his injured ankle, according to head coach Dan Quinn. A timetable for Coleman's recovery was not disclosed.

Huddle Up: Coleman is wearing a walking boot, as previously reported, but this ailment doesn't appear to be too serious. If he doesn't suffer any setbacks this offseason he should be good to go. He and Devontae Freeman arguably make up the best running back duo in the NFL. Interestingly, they don't damage each other's fantasy value too much. View Coleman as a low-end RB2 to high-end RB3 for next season.

  • Posted: 2/7/2017 9:20am ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (ankle) was spotted wearing a walking boot on his left foot Tuesday, Feb. 7. Coleman suffered an apparent ankle injury in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl LI and did not return.

Huddle Up: There has been no indication Coleman is dealing with a significant injury, but it is also notable he has yet to be given a timetable for recovery. Barring something unforeseen, he should have no problem being ready for offseason workouts and figures to return to his role as Devonta Freeman's explosive sidekick in Atlanta's offense next season.

  • Posted: 2/5/2017 6:44pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (ankle) is questionable to return against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LI Sunday, Feb. 5.

Huddle Up: If Coleman can't return, Devonta Freeman should dominate the backfield touches the rest of the way.

  • Posted: 1/22/2017 4:29pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed 11 times for 29 yards and a touchdown Sunday, Jan. 22, against the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship. Coleman added three catches for 35 yards.

Huddle Up: Following a breakout year, Coleman will be sought after in 2017 fantasy drafts. His 11 offensive touchdowns shows versatility and lineup flexibility, but being so dependent on scoring also makes Coleman risky. Think RB3 territory in most setups.

  • Posted: 1/14/2017 5:10pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed for a game-high 57 yards on 11 carries and added three catches for 22 yards and a touchdown in the Divisional Round against the Seattle Seahawks.

Huddle Up: Coleman showed his usual elite burst on more than one occasion. He scored out of the backfield on a 14-yard pass near the end of the first half on a well-designed route that got him free in the end zone after the receivers executed a scissors route, leaving him all by himself near the sideline. All Coleman remains behind Freeman in the rotation, he should continue to produce enough to be an effective DFS option in the NFC Championship game next week.

  • Posted: 12/24/2016 3:44pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed nine times for 90 yards and a touchdown in the Week 16 game against the Carolina Panthers, and he added three receptions for 45 yards on his three targets.

Huddle Up: The rushing yardage total was a season high for Coleman, who visited the end zone three total times (two rushing, one receiving) over his final three games. He remains a solid flex fantasy option even when Devonta Freeman is healthy.

  • Posted: 12/18/2016 10:46pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed 14 times for 58 yards in the Week 15 against the San Francisco 49ers. He added two receptions for eight yards on a pair of targets.

Huddle Up: Coleman remains a RB3 or flex play heading into Week 16 against the Carolina Panthers as long as Devonta Freeman is healthy and available.
