Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed for a game-high 57 yards on 11 carries and added three catches for 22 yards and a touchdown in the Divisional Round against the Seattle Seahawks.

Huddle Up: Coleman showed his usual elite burst on more than one occasion. He scored out of the backfield on a 14-yard pass near the end of the first half on a well-designed route that got him free in the end zone after the receivers executed a scissors route, leaving him all by himself near the sideline. All Coleman remains behind Freeman in the rotation, he should continue to produce enough to be an effective DFS option in the NFC Championship game next week.

  • Posted: 12/24/2016 3:44pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed nine times for 90 yards and a touchdown in the Week 16 game against the Carolina Panthers, and he added three receptions for 45 yards on his three targets.

Huddle Up: The rushing yardage total was a season high for Coleman, who visited the end zone three total times (two rushing, one receiving) over his final three games. He remains a solid flex fantasy option even when Devonta Freeman is healthy.

  • Posted: 12/18/2016 10:46pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed 14 times for 58 yards in the Week 15 against the San Francisco 49ers. He added two receptions for eight yards on a pair of targets.

Huddle Up: Coleman remains a RB3 or flex play heading into Week 16 against the Carolina Panthers as long as Devonta Freeman is healthy and available.

  • Posted: 12/4/2016 3:02pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed for 49 yards on 12 carries against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 13.

Huddle Up: Coleman has been splitting carries with Devonta Freeman this season but failed for record a catch for the first time this season. He should continue to have a role in the running and passing game moving forward and can be a low-end No. 2 running back or a flex option for owners.

  • Posted: 11/27/2016 2:28pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed for nine yards and one touchdown on eight carries against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 12. He also caught two passes for four yards during the game.

Huddle Up: Coleman saw a solid amount of playing time even though he missed a few games because of an injury. Coleman will be a part of the running and passing game moving forward and can be at least a flex option in most leagues.

  • Posted: 11/25/2016 1:30pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (hamstring) practiced in full Friday, Nov. 25.

Huddle Up: Coleman has missed the last three games, but after getting in his third consecutive full practice, it appears he'll be ready to return in Week 12 opposite the Arizona Cardinals. He's a fine flex play for this weekend, though it would be understandable if he's only eased back into action, meaning he might not see his usual amount of touches right out of the gate.

  • Posted: 11/25/2016 11:00am ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (hamstring) is 'good to go' for Week 12 against the Arizona Cardinals, according to head coach Dan Quinn.

Huddle Up: Coleman should resume his usual high-upside change-of-pace role behind Devonta Freeman, although it should be noted that Arizona is the stingiest defense in the league against running backs in fantasy this season. Atlanta's offensive line is good enough to counteract that somewhat, but Coleman is best viewed as a RB3/flex option this week as a result.

  • Posted: 11/24/2016 7:34pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (hamstring) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Nov. 24.

Huddle Up: Coleman should make his return to the field in Week 12 and split carries with Devonta Freeman. Both players are low-end RB2 candidates.

  • Posted: 11/23/2016 3:49pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (hamstring) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Nov. 23.

Huddle Up: Coleman appears to be on track to play after missing a few games because of his injury. He should share work with Devonta Freeman at running back and will be involved in the passing game. He should be at least a flex option in fantasy leagues and can be a low-end No. 2 running back in some deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 11/21/2016 2:30pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (hamstring) said he's feeling 100 percent and is ready to get back on the field after participating in practice Monday, Nov. 21.

Huddle Up: With Coleman ready to go again Atlanta should once again implement their backfield committee with Coleman and Devonta Freeman. Despite splitting touches, both have excelled this season in Atlanta's prolific offense. They should both be starting considerations in what could be a high-scoring matchup with the Arizona Cardinals.

  • Posted: 11/21/2016 10:29am ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (hamstring) was spotted at practice Monday, Nov. 21.

Huddle Up: This was expected after head coach Dan Quinn suggested Coleman would be back at full participation at some point following the team's Week 11 bye. Barring a setback, the highly explosive Coleman should be considered a RB3 this week against the Arizona Cardinals.

  • Posted: 11/14/2016 11:55am ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (hamstring) will be back to full participation at some point before his team faces the Arizona Cardinals in Week 12, according to head coach Dan Quinn.

Huddle Up: Devonta Freeman maintained his usual workload during Coleman's absence, but the Falcons' running game has been far less dynamic since the latter's Week 7 exit. Owners should feel good about using Coleman as a RB2 in most leagues going forward, although his volatility makes him a better flex play, which is what he should be considered against the Cardinals' stout defense in a couple of weeks.

  • Posted: 11/11/2016 11:48am ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (hamstring) will not play in Week 10 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Huddle Up: It's a bit of a bummer after some optimism earlier in the week but not entirely unexpected with the Falcons' bye coming next week. Devonta Freeman should see 15 to 20 touches once again, while Terron Ward will back him up.

  • Posted: 11/9/2016 1:35pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 9.

Huddle Up: Coleman is still rehabilitating his hamstring injury and his status for Week 10 is unclear at this point. If he continues to miss practice then he may end up doubtful to play. If that's the case, Devonta Freeman would be an RB1 consideration as the Falcon's primary running back, even against a tough defense in the Philadelphia Eagles.

  • Posted: 11/7/2016 10:29am ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (hamstring) was spotted working on the side field during practice Monday, Nov. 7.

Huddle Up: Coleman is expected to return to game action this week, but it is a bit discouraging he wasn't able to get a session following a long weekend, although he could easily be in the final stages of proving his fitness as well. Ideally, the second-year back will be able to return to practice in some fashion Wednesday when the team begins its preparation for the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 10. If he can play, he'll be a high-upside RB2 in that matchup.

  • Posted: 11/2/2016 9:15am ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 9.

Huddle Up: Terron Ward had six rushes for 46 yards and an 11-yard catch last week. He still doesn't figure to see enough time behind Devonta Freeman to be worth playing in fantasy against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Thursday night.

  • Posted: 11/1/2016 2:48pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (hamstring) sat out practice Tuesday, Nov. 1.

Huddle Up: Head coach Dan Quinn has already said Coleman's strength is fine, but he needs to see some explosion in Coleman's running before Coleman will play. The running back is looking iffy for Thursday night, so be prepared to have a plan B if you were counting on starting Coleman. Devonta Freeman should be a low-end RB1 consideration either way.

  • Posted: 11/1/2016 10:41am ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (hamstring) will have a rehab run Tuesday, Nov. 1. Head coach Dan Quinn told reporters Coleman's strength is back, but Quinn needs to see (Coleman's usual) explosion before he will be allowed to play.

Huddle Up: It sounds as if Coleman might have a shot to play this week if the game was on a Sunday, but the Falcons will visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday instead. As such, he should be considered a longshot to suit up. Terron Ward should be expected to back up Devonta Freeman again this week, giving the latter one more shot at a huge workload.

  • Posted: 10/31/2016 3:28pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (hamstring) did not participate in practice Monday, Oct. 31, and will be a game-time decision for Week 9, according to head coach Dan Quinn.

Huddle Up: Coleman was not able to play in Week 8 and may not be able to play this week since the Falcons play Thursday, Nov. 3. Owners can monitor the situation over the next few days but should look at healthier options to use in their lineups.

  • Posted: 10/28/2016 11:13am ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (hamstring) will not play in Week 8 against the Green Bay Packers.

Huddle Up: There is speculation Coleman may only miss two weeks. In the meantime, Devonta Freeman should receive the bulk of backfield touches in Atlanta's high-octane offense. Terron Ward may spot him on occasion and the Falcons added Stevan Ridley this week to boost their depth, but Freeman should be considered a top-end RB1 despite the difficult matchup.

  • Posted: 10/27/2016 10:17am ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (hamstring) will not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 27, according to head coach Dan Quinn.

Huddle Up: Coleman is not expected to play in Week 8, but owners will know more about his status later in the week. Devonta Freeman should see most of the playing time if Coleman is ruled out and should be a starting option in all leagues.

  • Posted: 10/26/2016 2:20pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 26.

Huddle Up: Coleman appears to be headed for a doubtful status this week, in which case Devonta Freeman would be the featured back. The Green Bay Packers have been stellar against the run this year, but Freeman's running ability and pass-catching prowess still make him an RB1 play.

  • Posted: 10/26/2016 5:32am ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (hamstring) won't practice Wednesday, Oct. 26, and his Week 8 status is uncertain, according to head coach Dan Quinn.

Huddle Up: Coleman isn't expected to play against the Green Bay Packers this week. Devonta Freeman should see most of the work, and the team just picked up Stevan Ridley. Freeman is an RB1 consideration, and Ridley could be a flex back if he's active and able to catch on quickly enough.

  • Posted: 10/24/2016 3:49pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (hamstring) is not expected to play in Week 8 because of his hamstring injury, according to a source.

Huddle Up: Devonta Freeman should receive most of the playing time at running back with Coleman expected to miss at least one week because of the injury. Freeman has been involved in the running and passing game over the past few weeks and can be a solid No. 2 running back in all fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 10/24/2016 11:56am ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (hamstring) suffered a strained hamstring in Week 7.

Huddle Up: It's not too serious, but Coleman is probably headed for a week full of limited practices. It would be a surprise if he's not active for Week 8, but he'll continue to split touches with Devontae Freeman. Even if Coleman does play, he and Freeman face one of their toughest tests of the year in the Green Bay Packers, who have given up the fewest fantasy points per game to running backs this year. Coleman is in the low-end RB2 to high-end RB3 conversation.

  • Posted: 10/23/2016 4:10pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (hamstring) left the Week 7 game against the San Diego Chargers due to a hamstring injury. He is sitting on the sidelines without his helmet. Coleman tried walking around for a minute but sat back down.

Huddle Up: Hamstring injuries are tricky, especially for running backs. If Coleman is forced to the shelf, that's great news for fantasy owners of Devonta Freeman.

  • Posted: 10/9/2016 8:26pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed six times for 31 yards in the Week 5 game against the Denver Broncos, and he added four catches for 132 yards and a touchdown on six targets.

Huddle Up: Coleman had 10 touches and a ton of yardage, which was a bit surprising considering he has the sickle cell trait and it was expected he might be a bit limited due to the illness in the rarefied air in Denver. Coleman remains a solid low-end RB2, especially in PPR formats.

  • Posted: 10/5/2016 11:22am ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (illness) said he will play in the team's Week 5 road game against the Denver Broncos even though he has the sickle cell trait. He said he will stay hydrated and will communicate with the doctors.

Huddle Up: It is not known if the Falcons will limit his snaps during the game because of his situation, but Coleman should still receive decent playing time. He will be facing a tough Broncos defense, but he could be a flex option in some leagues.

  • Posted: 10/3/2016 11:58am ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (illness) is expected to play in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos despite a sickle cell trait, according to head coach Dan Quinn.

Huddle Up: Coleman came back down to earth in Week 4 after a three-touchdown outing in Week 3 as he continued to split time with Devonta Freeman. Both Freeman and Coleman have a rough matchup versus the Broncos, but Freeman is an automatic start regardless of the matchup. Tread carefully with Coleman, though. He may see fewer snaps than usual against a better than usual defense.

  • Posted: 10/3/2016 7:29am ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (illness) has the sickle cell blood disorder, and he may not play in Week 5 in the thin air of Denver. Coleman plans to do more research on the matter before the trip. The Falcons could simply limit his reps in the game.

Huddle Up: Former safety Ryan Clark also had the disorder, and he had severe health issues after trying to play a game in Denver. Coleman should be avoided in fantasy in Week 5.

  • Posted: 10/2/2016 2:35pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed for 19 yards on eight carries against the Carolina Panthers in Week 4. He also caught three passes for 14 yards during the game.

Huddle Up: Coleman has been involved in the running and passing game over the first four weeks of the season and will continue to have a similar role. He should be a low-end No. 2 or a flex option most week for owners.

  • Posted: 9/30/2016 4:06pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 30, and is not on the injury report for Week 4.

Huddle Up: Coleman should receive his normal workload despite the injury and will be involved in the running and passing game. Coleman can be a No. 2 running back or a flex option for most fantasy owners.

  • Posted: 9/28/2016 1:22pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (ankle) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Huddle Up: Coleman should be able to play in Week 4 and likely will continue to share work with Devonta Freeman at running back. He has been more involved in the passing game but also has four rushing touchdowns. He should be a low-end No. 2 running back or a flex option if he is able to play.

  • Posted: 9/26/2016 9:20pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rushed 12 times for 42 yards with three touchdowns in the Week 3 game against the New Orleans Saints Monday, Sept. 26. He added three receptions for 47 yards on three targets.

Huddle Up: Coleman had been chipping away at Devonta Freeman's playing time lately, but Coleman took a back seat in yardage in this one (207 total yards to 89). Still, Coleman scored three times and continues to see his fantasy stock rise.

  • Posted: 9/18/2016 7:17am ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman is listed as the team's No. 1 running back on the depth chart, although the organization considers RB Tevin Coleman to be just as talented and tries to give equal touches to both players.

Huddle Up: This is good news for anyone who waited until the middle rounds of seasonal fantasy drafts to select Coleman. In Week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Freeman had 20 rushing yards and 20 receiving yards, while Coleman had 22 rushing yards and 95 receiving yards. For now, Freeman should continue to be viewed as a solid RB2, while Coleman merits strong consideration as an RB3 or flex option.

  • Posted: 9/13/2016 9:13am ET

Atlanta Falcons RBs Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman will continue to operate as a committee, according to head coach Dan Quinn. Coleman accumulated 117 total yards on his 13 touches in Week 1, while Freeman had 40 yards on his 15. 'We know both these guys are going to be a factor. We just had two running backs active (Sunday), so for the whole portion of the game, both of them have done significant things really well. We?re going to utilize them both,'' Quinn said.

Huddle Up: Freeman should still be considered the favorite for fantasy production in this backfield, but it is becoming clear Atlanta wants to avoid Freeman carrying the offense on his back like he did for a short time last season. Freeman is still in the RB2 conversation, while Coleman is looking like a solid RB3/flex play going forward.

  • Posted: 9/11/2016 8:57pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman ran eight times for a team-best 22 yards in Week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and he added five receptions for a team-best 95 yards, including a 47-yard reception.

Huddle Up: Coleman's production out of the backfield with his hands limited the work for Devonta Freeman, something fantasy owners of Freeman certainly didn't want to see. Coleman will be a popular addition off the waiver wire in fantasy leagues this week if still available.

  • Posted: 8/3/2016 4:19pm ET

Updating a previous report, Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman rolled his foot Tuesday, Aug. 2, but is doing fine and should return to practice in a 'limited fashion' Thursday, Aug. 4, or Friday, Aug. 5, according to head coach Dan Quinn.

Huddle Up: A setback for the second-year who's in line for No. 2 touches behind starter Devonta Freeman. We'll update his status as warranted.

  • Posted: 7/11/2016 10:52pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman is expected to receive more touches on offense this season, according to running backs coach Bobby Turner.

Huddle Up: Devonte Freeman is still the starter in Atlanta, but the Falcons would love to lighten his workload a bit. If Coleman can stay healthy expect a slight uptick in his touches--not enough to make him a viable fantasy entity in his own right, but maybe enough to take some of the shine off Freeman's fantasy value.

  • Posted: 4/17/2016 10:28pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman, WR Justin Hardy, LB, Vic Beasley, DT Grady Jarrett, CB Jalen Collins and FS Robenson Therezie are the six players head coach Dan Quinn is counting on to elevate their games in 2016.

Huddle Up: Coleman, a third-round pick a season ago, originally opened the season as the Falcons' starter but a Week 2 rib injury opened the door for Devonta Freeman's monster season, but expect Coleman to grab a larger share of the workload as the No. 2 back this coming season.

  • Posted: 2/26/2016 3:19pm ET

Atlanta Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff said the Falcons are expecting big things from RB Tevin Coleman alongside RB Devonta Freeman in 2016. 'It's a sense of a change of pace, they both come to the table with something very different in their skill set and, you know, Tevin's got a lot of speed and he's got a lot of natural ability. My feeling is he'll continue to mature into this season and we're expecting big things out of him teaming with Davonta. I think that's a really nice tandem,' Dimitroff said.

Huddle Up: Coleman, a third-round pick last season, was a fantasy draft darling who was expected to land the Falcons' starting gig. He did open the season atop the depth chart, but an early-season rib fracture and the rapid emergence of Devonta Freeman helped limit the rookie to only 392 yards and a TD on 87 carries. Although Freeman remains the Falcons' No. 1 back, expect more contributions from Coleman if he can stay healthy.
