Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson caught four passes for 31 yards and one touchdown against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10. He also rushed for 15 yards on three carries.

Huddle Up: Johnson has been more involved in the game plan since the team made a change at offensive coordinator. He can be a flex option most weeks especially in point-per-reception leagues.

  • Posted: 11/4/2018 4:30pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson rushed just once for eight yards in Week 9 against the Kansas City Chiefs, but he posted a game-high nine grabs with a team-best 78 yards and two touchdowns.

Huddle Up: The Browns tried to run the ball early, then passed the ball frequently in the second half playing catch-up. That was good news for Johnson, who was the security blanket for Baker Mayfield on the short stuff. Johnson is a solid RB3 or flex option in PPR leagues heading into Week 10 against the Atlanta Falcons.

  • Posted: 11/2/2018 1:44pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson (thigh) practiced in full for a third straight day Friday, Nov. 2 and he has been removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 9 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Huddle Up: Johnson is dangerous out of the backfield catching the football, and he could do some damage against a Chiefs pass defense which ranks just 29th in the NFL allowing 304.8 yards per game with 13 touchdowns. Consider him RB3 or flex in PPR formats.

  • Posted: 11/1/2018 3:00pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson (thigh) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 1.

Huddle Up: Johnson not be a big factor in the offense this season and is only receiving a few touches per game. He could be more involved this week against the Kansas City Chiefs but would only be a flex option in some deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 10/31/2018 12:23pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson (back) practiced in full Wednesday, Oct. 31.

Huddle Up: Those who roster Johnson undoubtedly hope that new coaches will breathe new life into his fantasy value. Until we see consistent production, though, Johnson can remain on fantasy benches.

  • Posted: 10/28/2018 1:43pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson caught two passes for 16 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 8. He also posted zero yards on two carries during the game. He did not have a touch after an apparent ankle injury in the first quarter.

Huddle Up: Johnson has not had a big role in the offense this season when healthy, even though he was productive last season. He should be avoided in all leagues until he receives more touches and his health situation is sorted out.

  • Posted: 10/21/2018 4:46pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson rushed once for minus-4 yards and he had four grabs for 23 yards on four targets in Week 7 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Huddle Up: Johnson didn't see a bump in production despite the trade of Carlos Hyde to Jacksonville. The biggest winner was rookie Nick Chubb, who had 18 runs for 80 yards and a score. Johnson can still be helpful as a low-end RB3 or flex play in PPR formats. The Browns travel to meet the Steelers in Week 8.

  • Posted: 10/14/2018 1:56pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson caught four passes for 73 yards against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 6. He also rushed for 36 yards on two carries during the game.

Huddle Up: Johnson has been off to a slow start to the season but could turn things around after his Week 6 performance. He can be considered at least a flex option in point-per-reception leagues next week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

  • Posted: 10/11/2018 6:01pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson said his lack of playing time this season has been frustrating, and he believes he can help the Browns win if given more opportunities.

Huddle Up: After catching 74 passes a year ago, Johnson has been surprisingly absent from the offense in 2018. He has caught more than two passes in just one of the first five games, and he has yet to see more than six touches in any game. His role is too small right now to use in any format.

  • Posted: 10/7/2018 2:44pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson rushed five times for 35 yards in Week 5 against the Baltimore Ravens and he added one grab for seven yards.

Huddle Up: Johnson has exactly six total touches in each of his past two games, and three of his five games. He just doesn't see the ball enough to use him in anything more than the deepest of PPR leagues as long as Carlos Hyde is healthy. The Browns host the Chargers in Week 6.

  • Posted: 9/30/2018 8:20pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson ran twice for 11 yards in Week 4 against the Oakland Raiders while racking up four receptions for 45 yards on six targets.

Huddle Up: Johnson also had a successful two-point conversion to add to his fantasy total. He is a decent low-end RB3 in deeper PPR fantasy leagues, but he has lesser appeal in standard play. The Browns host the Ravens in Week 5.

  • Posted: 9/20/2018 9:50pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson had 33 total yards on four combined touches against the New York Jets in Week 3.

Huddle Up: After averaging 65 yards per game and scoring seven times in 2017, Johnson has managed fewer than 23 yards per content through three weeks and hasn't sniffed pay dirt. It's a disappointing performance for one of the NFL's better receiving backs, but perhaps the likely move to Baker Mayfield will result in more action. If you can keep Johnson stashed on your bench, do so, as his PPR upside is real.

  • Posted: 9/9/2018 4:30pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson rushed five times for 17 yards in Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers and he added one catch for eight yards on six targets.

Huddle Up: Johnson was forced out of the game in the second half due to an undisclosed injury, but he was able to return and finish up. Carlos Hyde dominated the backfield touches for Cleveland with a total of 23, so he is the fantasy back you want. Johnson is only worth a look in deeper PPR formats at the moment.

  • Posted: 6/7/2018 1:06pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension with the Browns Thursday, June 7, worth $15.6 million, according to a source. The deal includes a $5 million signing bonus.

Huddle Up: Johnson should receive most of his touches in the passing game this season but could also receive some carries. He will be a valuable option in point-per-reception leagues and could be a No. 2 running back in those leagues some weeks. Johnson can be considered a No. 3 running back or a flex option in standard leagues.

  • Posted: 6/7/2018 12:49pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson is close to agreeing to a long-term extension with the Browns, according to sources.

Huddle Up: Johnson has been a solid contributor for the Browns over the last several seasons and should have a solid role in the passing game this season. He can be at least a No. 3 running back in point-per-reception leagues and a possible flex option in standard leagues.

  • Posted: 5/23/2018 5:40pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson said that he is in discussions with the team about a contract extension and he's 'very optimistic' the two sides will come to an agreement.

Huddle Up: Although the Browns signed Carlos Hyde to replace Isaiah Crowell in the backfield, that doesn't mean Johnson won't continue to have a valuable role. In his third NFL season last year, the 24-year-old only accumulated 348 yards on the ground on 82 carries, but he also scored four rushing touchdowns, not to mention while recording career bests in receiving yards, catches and touchdowns through the air. He can be a sneaky good RB2, especially in PPR formats.

  • Posted: 3/12/2018 2:41pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson has been talking with the team about a new contract, but the two sides has been able to reach an agreement on money.

Huddle Up: Johnson has been an important player for the Browns over the last few seasons and will continue to have a big role even if they add another running back this offseason. He can be considered a No. 2 fantasy running back in point-per-reception leagues and a flex option in standard leagues.

  • Posted: 2/8/2018 9:57pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson finished with 74 catches for 693 yards, setting a new franchise record for receptions in one season by a running back. In addition, he logged 82 carries for 348 yards (4.2 per rush) on the ground. Overall, he had seven total touchdowns -- four rushing and three receiving.

Huddle Up: Johnson has slowly but surely been trending up since being drafted in the third round out of Miami in 2015, and it's possible he accomplishes even more next year after setting career highs in receptions, receiving yards and targets. He's been a nice complementary back to Isaiah Crowell, who is set to become a free agent, so Cleveland's running game situation will be worth watching this offseason.

  • Posted: 12/29/2017 12:58pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson (shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 29, and is not on the injury report for Week 17.

Huddle Up: Johnson has done most of his damage in the passing game but still receive some carries in the running game. He should receive his normal workload this week and can be a flex option in point-per-reception leagues.

  • Posted: 12/28/2017 3:04pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson (shoulder) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 28.

Huddle Up: Johnson has been one of the Browns' top offensive weapons this season and should continue to be part of the running and passing game this week. He should be a solid flex option in point-per-reception leagues.

  • Posted: 12/27/2017 3:44pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson (shoulder) took part in practice Wednesday, Dec. 27, on a limited basis.

Huddle Up: Johnson has been one of the most trusted fantasy options for the winless Browns, but he faces a difficult matchup on the road against a Steelers team still fighting for home-field advantage through the playoffs.

  • Posted: 12/25/2017 2:50pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson is fourth among running backs in catches (68) and receiving yards (618) with one game left to play this season.

Huddle Up: Johnson has been the lone bright spot for the Browns in a(nother) forgettable season and currently sits as the No. 12 PPR fantasy running back. Cleveland has had to pass a lot this year and Johnson has been the safety blanket for rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer. Isaiah Crowell is a free agent next offseason, which could aid Johnson's fantasy value depending on if he leaves and who the Browns add or don't add in the backfield.

  • Posted: 12/24/2017 1:21pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson caught seven passes for 81 yards against the Chicago Bears in Week 16. He also rushed for 20 yards on four carries during the game.

Huddle Up: Johnson has been one of the most productive players for the Browns this season and will continue to be involved in the running and passing game. He should be a solid flex option in most leagues next week against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

  • Posted: 12/22/2017 1:19pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson (shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 22, and is not on the injury report for Week 16.

Huddle Up: Johnson has received at least 10 touches in three of the last four games and is having some success as a receiver out of the backfield. Johnson could be a flex option in point-per-reception leagues but is not a must-start option.

  • Posted: 12/21/2017 5:55pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson became the first running back since retired RB Herschel Walker (1986-88) to record at least 500 receiving yards in each of his first three seasons in the league after his performance in the team's Week 15 game Sunday, Dec. 17, against the Baltimore Ravens.

Huddle Up: Johnson has settled in as a decent FLEX option for most leagues, garnering at least 10 touches in just about each of his outings. He's a threat to score in a variety of ways, hence why he has three rushing and three receiving touchdowns apiece, but sometimes game flow can minimize his impact. Johnson's ceiling isn't huge, but he's generally been steady.

  • Posted: 12/21/2017 12:30pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson (shoulder) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 21.

Huddle Up: Johnson appears to be on track to play against the Chicago Bears and should continue to be involved in the running and passing game. He can be considered a flex option in point-per-reception leagues this week.

  • Posted: 12/20/2017 12:18pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson (shoulder) was limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 20.

Huddle Up: Aside from a touchdown last week, Johnson has been relatively quiet of late as Isaiah Crowell has ramped up his own play. He is still a fixture in the passing game, and with the Browns needing to pass a lot to stay in games, Johnson remains a low-end RB2 to flex option on PPR formats.

  • Posted: 12/17/2017 2:46pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson rushed for 23 yards and one touchdown on seven carries against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 15. He also caught five passes for 40 yards during the game.

Huddle Up: Johnson has been more of a factor in the passing game this season but did lead the team in rushes against the Ravens. He probably will receive around 10 touches next week against the Chicago Bears and could be a flex option in point-per-reception leagues.

  • Posted: 12/10/2017 4:20pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson rushed six times for eight yards in Week 14 against the Green Bay Packers and he added four grabs for 41 yards and a score.

Huddle Up: Johnson appears to be over a shoulder injury which was bugging him, but he'll need more yardage to be anything more than a WR3 or flex option in deeper PPR leagues.

  • Posted: 12/3/2017 4:36pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson posted seven rushes for just two yards in Week 13 against the Los Angeles Chargers and he added two grabs for 10 yards on four targets.

Huddle Up: Johnson was a huge disappointment for those rolling the dice on him in PPR leagues. He figured to post big numbers against a Chargers rush defense near the bottom of the league, but that wasn't the case. He is nothing more than a RB3 or flex play in deeper PPR leagues heading into Week 14.

  • Posted: 11/26/2017 1:49pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson rushed six times for 35 yards in Week 12 against the Cincinnati Bengals and he added four receptions for 32 yards on five targets.

Huddle Up: Johnson aggravated his shoulder injury last weekend against Jacksonville, but he didn't appear to be limited or show any ill effects in this one. He has at least three receptions in 10 consecutive outings, making him a decent low-end RB2 in most PPR formats. Johnson has lesser fantasy appeal in standard formats.

  • Posted: 11/24/2017 9:18pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson needs to be on the field 'as much as possible' because of his ability as a playmaker, according to run game coordinator Kirby Wilson.

Huddle Up: Johnson has been Cleveland's most explosive offensive weapon all year, but the coaching staff hasn't gone out of its way to give him touches. Until Johnson actually starts to be featured more often, he can't be counted on as more than a flex option in PPR formats.

  • Posted: 11/19/2017 8:24pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson (shoulder) aggravated his shoulder injury in the Week 11 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, head coach Hue Jackson said Sunday, Nov. 19.

Huddle Up: Jackson added that he feels Johnson will be fine. He remains a solid RB3 or flex fantasy option in most PPR leagues heading into Week 12 against the Bengals.

  • Posted: 11/19/2017 4:43pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson rushed twice for 10 yards in Week 11 against the Jacksonville Jaguars and he added four receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown on six targets.

Huddle Up: Johnson was limited earlier in the week due to a shoulder injury, but lifted from the report late in the week and he didn't show any ill effects of the ailment in this one. He remains a pretty solid RB3 or flex fantasy option in PPR formats heading into Week 12 against the Bengals.

  • Posted: 11/17/2017 2:55pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson (shoulder) practiced in full Friday, Nov. 17, and he has been removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 11 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Huddle Up: Johnson is set to face a Jacksonville pass defense which tops the NFL, but checks in just 25th against the rush. He remains a decent RB3 or flex fantasy option in most standard leagues, but his real value is in PPR formats.

  • Posted: 11/16/2017 2:41pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson (shoulder) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 16.

Huddle Up: Johnson has been involved in the running and passing game over the last several games and has received at least 10 touches in the last three games. He should have a similar role against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 11 and could be a flex option in point-per-reception leagues.

  • Posted: 11/15/2017 2:01pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson (shoulder) was able to take part in a full practice session Wednesday, Nov. 15.

Huddle Up: Johnson appears to be good to go for Week 11, and he'll face a Jacksonville rush defense which ranks 25th in the NFL. It might be tough sledding catching the ball out of the backfield, however, as the Jags are strong against the pass.
