Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson (ankle) played sporadically in Week 16 against the San Diego Chargers, shuttling in and out of the game due to an ankle injury.

Huddle Up: Johnson has been an acceptable flex play in PPR leagues for most of this year, but with the Browns getting their first win last week and the scatback clearly not 100 percent, don't expect to see him playing against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 17. Cleveland would likely turn to George Atkinson III and Darius Jackson to fill the void left behind by Johnson if he sits out.

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson rushed seven times for 28 yards in the Week 16 game against the San Diego Chargers, and he added two receptions for 21 yards on his only two targets.

Huddle Up: Johnson is clearly behind Isaiah Crowell on the depth chart heading into the Week 17 finale in Pittsburgh, and Johnson is only worth a look as a flex play in PPR leagues in the deepest of formats.

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson (neck) suffered a stinger in the second half of the Week 12 game against the New York Giants.

Huddle Up: When healthy, Johnson is only worth a look in the deepest of fantasy leagues. The Browns are off in Week 13, so he'll have plenty of time to rest his bumps and bruises.

  • Posted: 11/20/2016 2:07pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson caught three passes for 46 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 11. He also rushed for 10 yards on two carries during the game.

Huddle Up: Johnson has been more involved in the passing game over the past few weeks, so he should have more value in point-per-reception leagues moving forward. He can be a flex option in some deeper leagues if he continues his workload.

  • Posted: 11/6/2016 2:12pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson rushed for 30 yards on five carries against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 9. He also caught two passes for 16 yards in the game.

Huddle Up: Johnson will continue to be involved in the running and passing game moving forward. He can be a solid flex option against most opponents.

  • Posted: 10/30/2016 7:00pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson rushed four times for 29 yards in the Week 8 game against the New York Jets, but most of his damage was in the pass game. He posted six catches for 87 yards on eight targets.

Huddle Up: Johnson is a tremendous RB2 in most PPR leagues, and more of a flex play in standard formats of 12 or more teams. The Browns host the Dallas Cowboys in Week 9.

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson (knee) suffered a knee injury during the team's Week 6 game but was able to return.

Huddle Up: Johnson has been involved in the running and passing game this season and has played well at times. He could be a flex option in leagues but likely will continue to see limited touches.

  • Posted: 9/25/2016 6:50pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson rushed 10 times for 69 yards in the Week 3 game against the Miami Dolphins, and he added five receptions for 12 yards on seven targets.

Huddle Up: Johnson split the backfield touches 15-15 with Isaiah Crowell, and each player had decent outings. Look for that split to continue, making both low-end RB2 options in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams.

  • Posted: 7/24/2016 1:09pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson will line up at wide receiver at times during the season because the team likes to find different ways to throw passes to Johnson.

Huddle Up: No surprise as Johnson caught 61 passes last season as a rookie -- ranking fourth among RBs -- and the Browns and new coach Hue Jackson are going to have to be creative in getting their best players the most snaps -- even if it means using Isaiah Crowell at RB and Johnson as a pass-catcher in the same formation.

  • Posted: 7/7/2016 12:43pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson is expected to run the ball more than he did last year in new head coach Hue Jackson's offense, according to Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Huddle Up: Johnson had 104 rushes and 74 targets (with 61 receptions) as a rookie last season, but it sounds like more imbalance may be in store in Year Two, even with Isaiah Crowell expected to be the team's lead back.

Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson believes RB Duke Johnson can be an every-down running back in the NFL. Johnson had a chance to win the starting job in 2015 but suffered a hamstring injury.

Huddle Up: Hey, if you can make plays Cleveland wants you on the field. Jackson coached up Gio Bernard into a feature back role a couple seasons ago in Cincinnati, so seeing Duke take the majority of the Browns' backfield touches wouldn't be a stretch. Isaiah Crowell is playing the Jeremy Hill role, suggesting more of a two-pronged approach to the ground game in Cleveland, but there's no questioning Johnson's upside if he can stay healthy.
