2007 Outlook

The reuniting of White and OC Norm Chow did little to rekindle the glory days at USC. After gaining over 3500 yards and 52 touchdowns in college, White only posted 244 yards on 61 carries and still is waiting for his first NFL touchdown. He suffered though numerous injuries last year to include an ankle sprain, the stomach flu and a hip flexor. He already had a hamstring strain during mini-camp and that's without pads. He never had more than nine carries in any game nor gained more than 48 yards. It was an inauspicious start to his career and White spent most of the year on the bench watching Travis Henry do what White was drafted to accomplish.

Since Travis Henry left, White becomes the starting running back by default but that doesn’t necessarily mean too much since HC Jeff Fisher has already stated he intends on using both White and the rookie Chris Henry. The re-signing of Chris Brown also could send White backwards in the depth chart as well. The Titans have one of the worst rushing schedules in the NFL and their best bet currently is White and his 244 yards from last year. White’s fortunes will revolve around Chris Henry. If the rookie is able to deliver on his perceived potential, then White could lose out again this year. Short of White making huge strides this summer, he has done little to suggest he is capable of being the primary runner.

White showed up at the team organized activities weighing 260 pounds this spring and later was absent for the opening of a minicamp drawing ire from Fisher publicly. With a great opportunity before him, White still has not done much to indicate he is willing to put in the effort to step up his play.

Recent Priority News

11/20/08
The Sports Network reports Tennessee Titans RB LenDale White has reportedly been placed on probation after pleading guilty to disturbing the peace in an incident in Denver in March. White will need to attend an anger management class, though the case will be thrown out if he avoids unlawful situations through next year, according to The Nashville Tennessean.
Huddle Up: There's no indication so far whether or not White will face any sort of disciplinary action by the team or league. He should be good to go to face the Jets this weekend.

The Tennessean, reports Tennessee Titans RB LenDale White (calf) participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 20. He is considered questionable for the team's Week 12 game.
Huddle Up: White brings the thunder to the Titans offense in the form of a short-yardage and goal line type runner. With Chris Johnson performing at rookie of the year levels in Tennessee's offense, fantasy owners should expect White to be even more limited in Week 12 as he looks to get over his calf injury. He could be a game-time decision to even play in Week 12 so check back frequently.

10/28/08
The Associated Press reports Tennessee Titans RB LenDale White had 10 carries for 13 rushing yards in Week 8, but he was able to score two touchdowns in the game.
Huddle Up: He scored twice, so that is huge for owners in touchdown based scoring leagues. He's pretty much been established as the goal line guy to Chris Johnson's primary runner, so owners should adapt their lineups accordingly.

10/19/08
The Associated Press reports Tennessee Titans RB LenDale White had 17 carries for 149 yards with three rushing touchdowns Week 7. His 80-yard run for a score tied matched the franchise's longest run since 1983. He also caught a seven-yard pass in the game.
Huddle Up: White provides the thunder while the rookie Johnson is definately the lightning for the Titans offense this season. He continues to get a major portion of the carries and makes the most of them as White is a nice play for fantasy owners as a No. 3 running back with the upside to be a No. 2. There is no question he has some nice ability but as long as Johnson remains in the backfield with him, both backs are worth playing on a week to week basis.

10/03/08
The Tennessean reports Tennessee Titans RB LenDale White (shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 3. He is listed as probable for the team's Week 5 game and is expected to play.
Huddle Up: Bad news for Chris Johnson owners, as it looks like White will be back to his normal role of punching in goal-line scores. If you have a better option at running back than Johnson, you'd be wise to take it this week.

10/02/08
The Tennessean reports Tennessee Titans RB LenDale White (shoulder) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 2. His status for Week 5 is uncertain.
Huddle Up: It's looking more and more like Chris Johnson will get a lot more looks than usual this week against Baltimore. Even against the stout Raven defense he's worth a start, especially if you're in a bye week bind, because of his speed and the threat he poses as a pass catcher out of the backfield.
