2007 Outlook
Anderson turned in an average season in 2006, once again gaining around 300 receiving yards and scoring twice. He was second to only Randall Williams last year and had three 50 yard games with a lot of nothing for the rest. The new offense should use tight ends more this year but there’s no clear best player in the position. Figure on Anderson to be just another average tight end for 2007.
Recent Priority News
08/06/05
HC Norv Turner stated that Anderson, a seventh-round pick from 2004, is considered the starting tight end but that Teyo Johnson is considered "right behind him". This represents quite a climb up the depth charts for a tight end that wasn't even given any reps early in training camp last year.
Huddle Up: Anderson is the named starter but Johnson is considered just as highly and will likely see playing time as well. Rather than giving Anderson fantasy value as a starter, more likely it just depresses both Johnson and Anderson who will both play.
11/10/04
The Raiders have reported that Anderson suffered a significant knee injury in Sunday's game and is expected to miss four to six weeks.
Huddle Up: Anderson had been sharing time with starter Doug Jolley but that will no longer be the case. Look for more opportunities for Jolley.
