2007 Outlook
The Panthers rarely use their tight ends and their production has been declining for the last three years. In 2006, the position only gained 317 yards and two scores with the now retired Kris Mangum was the best with only 170 yards. Gaines will likely be the better tight end though Jeff King could end up on top. It doesn’t really matter either way – there is no fantasy value here unless new OC Jeff Davidson starts using the position and at least for this year, he has no tight ends with much receiving talent anyway.

The Panthers tight end Michael Gaines has not been able to practice this week due to a sprained ankle and is not expected to play against the Saints this week.
