Kleinsasser will now miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL.
09/18/04
Kleinsasser has a partially torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. He will be out the next two weeks at a minimum and may elect to get surgery which will sit him for the rest of the season.
Huddle Up: Jermaine Wiggins and rookies Jeff Dugan and Richard Owens will fill in for Kleinsasser with Wiggins being the veteran with the most work. Wiggins was expected to become a part of the passing game when he was acquired as a free agent from Carolina.

The Viking tight end left the game Sunday with a undisclosed knee injury. It appears now that it was a hyper-extension and the team will monitor him this week to determine his availability for Monday night.
UPDATE: An MRI exam has revealed damage to his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and Kleinsasser will miss from 2-4 weeks. "We're going to give that injury a couple of weeks, re-evaluate and see where he's at," HC Mike Tice said Tuesday.

Kleinsasser has agreed to a five-year contract with the Vikings worth $15 million and with a $4.25 million signing bonus. Kleinsasser was due to become a free agent and had already received strong interest on the market. "He was our number one priority in free agency," HC Mike Tice said Tuesday night. "And to go into the free agency getting your number one priority signed is a great thing."

Kleinsasser is not 100% over the abdominal contusion that forced him from the game last week, but is expected to play in Atlanta this week.
09/29/03
Suffered an abdominal injury in the Niner game on Sunday. After experiencing severe pain he was taken to the hospital after the game as a precaution. His status will be updated by the team Monday.
UPDATE: Coach Mike Tice stated in his press conference that Kleinsasser would be day-to-day this week and expects him to be ready to play by Sunday.
