2007 Outlook
For the first time since his rookie season, Boldin played all 16 games last year though he was hampered by a bad back for a while around mid-season. But he only had 83 catches last year and ended with 1203 yards and only four touchdowns. This partially was due to the learning curve of Matt Leinart. In the first four games, Boldin averaged 74 yards per game while under Leinart; he still had 76 yards per game. Not much change though three of his scores came from the rookie quarterback as did three of his four 100 yard efforts.
The more bothersome fact was that as the offensive line and rushing game improved the less that Boldin was used – particularly near the goal line. He had only one score in the final 10 games. The maturation of Larry Fitzgerald also had a definite effect on Boldin’s numbers as he managed four scores in the final five games with Leinart. With the new offense being installed this season, Boldin should continue to provide a rock solid possession role but his higher scores of years past may be over. Boldin often had more yards per game than Fitzgerald last year but lost out when the endzone neared.
Recent Priority News
12/24/07
Arizona starting wide receiver Anquan Boldin just about single-handedly destroyed the Atlanta Falcons Sunday in their 30-27 victory. Boldin, who has been out with a toe injury, reeled in 13 passes for 162 yards and 2 touchdowns to lead all receivers in the league for Week 16.
Huddle Up: Boldin was magnificent and showed no signs of the injury that has hampered him the last few weeks. Arizona will end its season against the St. Louis Rams at home which could mean another nice game for Boldin and his fantasy owners competing for a league championship in Week 17. Boldin will make a nice No. 1 receiver for fantasy teams in 2008.

Boldin practiced Thursday for the first time since
suffering a dislocated toe against Cleveland on Dec. 2.
He said after practice he's optimistic about playing
agianst New Orleans.
"It's still a little sore but I was able to do a couple of
things on it," Boldin told the Arizona Republic. "Unless
anything happens, I should be out there Sunday."
Huddle Up: There's obviously no guarantee that Boldin will actually
play, but if he does he's a great start in a game that
should be an absolute shootout.
12/07/07
Still suffering from the effects of a dislocated toe, Boldin will probably miss this week's game against the Seahawks, The Arizona Republic reports.
Huddle Up: With Boldin likely out, and Larry Fitzgerald a game-time decision due to an injured groin, Bryant Johnson becomes an even more attractive play this week. However, the Seattle pass defense is extremely tough -- even moreso at home. You'd be well advised to look elsewhere not only at wide receiver, but at quarterback as well, as there's a very good chance Kurt Warner will struggle.
12/04/07
The Cardinals could be without both of their top two
receivers this week, as Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald may
have to miss the game against Seattle. Fitzgerald
missed last Sunday's win over Cleveland with a sore
groin, while Boldin dislocated a toe on his left foot in the
third quarter of the same game.
Huddle Up: Seattle already has a very tough pass defense. Kurt
Warner's job will be that much tougher if he doesn't
have his best receivers. If Fitzgerald and Boldin miss
this game, it will be advisable to look in another
direction for your quarterback in this crucial fantasy
week.
11/13/07
Boldin told The Arizona Republic on Monday that he is
still bothered by a hip injury and it's unlikely he'll be 100
percent the rest of the season. He's only had 94 yards
and two touchdowns total in the three games he's
played since returning from the injury.
"He had a severe injury, and he worked hard to get back
from it," coach Ken Whisenhunt said, "but your body
can't recover, especially when you're out here pounding
it every day in practice and in games.
"It really bothers him when he picks his leg up, and
that's when you drive in and out of your routes. Until he
gets back 100 percent, he's not going to be as good as
maybe you would expect for him to be."
Huddle Up: Boldin is still playing, but the best you'll probably get out
of him may be an occasional red zone score. If you can
trade him to someone who may not be a Huddle
member, therefore may not have this little tidbit of
information, take a shot.
10/16/07
There is a strong possibility that Boldin will be able to
return in Week 7 from his hip injury. According to the
Arizona Republic, Boldin ran routes before Sunday's
game for the first time since the injury. "It's the first time
I've been able to explode, run routes and things like
that, Boldin told the paper. "It isn't sore today (Monday)
so we'll test it again Wednesday and see how it is."
Huddle Up: If he does come back, that makes Tim Rattay more
attractive as a free agent pickup. But unless Rattay
improves significantly from his lousy performance on
Sunday, Boldin's return won't mean much.
